  1. My addition to the heat and sad bike story.....Haven't ridden much this summer and we just recently hit 115 with 40% humidity as we start our Monsoon. Felt so guilty that the 'you haven't been riding police' might come and take me away that I jumped on the bike and rode it to work last Friday. I have a whole 9 minute commute but what the heck, at 6:30 in the morning it was already 95 but it was a nice ride! About 4pm our admin downstairs called up and asked if I had looked outside lately. ICK outside the second story window was the wall of dust where the storm had hit and I hadn't noticed!!! Grabbed my helmet and headed toward the door....had I a single brain cell left I probably would have waited it out but had a kidlet that I had to retrieve. No rain yet but the wind was pushing my Low Rider side to side like crazy, all I could do to keep it upright in the turns...about 5 minutes into the fwy I was doing the wet tshirt thing as the sky opened up and poured for the last 5 minutes till I hit the blue skies in front of my house. Scary ride, major dirt and rain on my bike......BOY WAS THAT FUN!!! Is it time to ride again yet?
  2. It filled up in about 4 days last year. I would definitely recommend overnighting if you want to get one in. I am here in Phx and since they won't take hand delivered even the locals are going to send overnight....not nice!
  3. Julie took top lady production, I believe, in El Salvador this weekend! Way to go JULIE!
  4. Hi Robert! Welcome.... we are a fairly harmless crowd!
  5. If he is in your daughters class you might want to talk to his teacher and see if this is an issue at school and ask how they are handling it. Something definitely the school should be cognizant of to ensure the safety of your daughter. How comfortable do you feel in speaking to his parents if he keeps making these comments to you? It sounds like, as others have said, that he is allowed to get away with it so he keeps doing it to see what kind of reaction he can get from you. Remember, in many cases negative reactions are just as good for these kids as positive...it means that someone is paying attention to them. Good luck with the situation...not one I would want to have to deal with.
  6. This is awesome for female shooters as Smith and Wesson has done a great job in supporting us with their shooting camps. Way to go S&W!!!! You have an incredible asset in Julie and I hope Glock realizes what they lost.
  7. You might check with Matt at www.customglock.com and see what he has. Haven't been out to his site in a while but if he doesn't have it he might be able to get one for you.
  8. That is so cool DADDY :-) start her shooting young! Congrats.
  9. NICE TRY LAWMAN!!! But if it works, keep it up Hope to see all of you at the Red, White and Brew (our local after match bar!) so that we can all put faces to names!
  10. Well....when I walked into Dillon to buy my reloader they asked me if I even owned a wrench....so if I can reload then anyone can!!! All it requires is attention to detail...and oh yea...a wrench! Well I did have to have someone build a cool bench for me. Go for it, not only is it less expensive but it is very relaxing to just turn my music on, my kids off and reload for an hour or two. Have fun! Watch out though, a chrono is next!
  11. I switched from my G34 to the CZ 75 and SP01. If she has small hands she might have problems with the mag release on the SP01. That is the issue I currently have.
  12. I bought the FLGR from JackAsh Custom and it doesn't fit in my SP01 at all. It took 6 weeks to get it and now he refuses to respond to my emails about it...Have tried for over a month to get a response and can't get any....I would NOT recommend them to anyone as he has lousy customer service! Charged my credit card day one, took 6 weeks to deliver the wrong product and a month later still won't make it right!
  13. Nice! With gas prices they way they are I have to say riding my bike is a much better way to go...and with sunshine almost year round in Phoenix (we get our annual rain fall on a single Tuesday) then there is no excuse not to ride! Congrats on the bike.
  14. Does she have to shoot major? Instead of the 35 why not have her shoot the 34? I have small hands and that was the gun I started with in competition. Easy to handle and with 9mm she won't have any recoil problems even shooting factory.
  15. You go Ira! What about us ladies that own both a gun and a Harley? hmmmmmm
  16. You might drop an email to Julie Goloski at Glock. She is 99gski on this forum. She might be able to point you in the right direction.
  17. Anybody try using the dryfire drill targets on Matt Burketts web page? He has a great set of targets if you don't mind drawing on your computer screen. You can set the par times, swinger movements, target sizes etc to change up your dry fire routines. They are under the Online Store/Online Dryfire Drills. Take a look and let me know what you think - personally I like using them but the buzzers drive my dogs crazy!
  18. I probably shot about 8 thousand rounds of miwall before I started reloading and found it to be good and very consistent. I would definitely recommend them. Used it in both practice and competition.
  19. Just as a question for you, what is fairly standard in your industry for staying with a firm. In IT it is usually about 18 months before a programmer starts to move on. Nothing against the programmer or the firm but this is just how you move up in the industry. As a hiring manager though, I will question someones resume that has every job only last about a year but several of those on a resume won't even make me blink. Remember, the days of staying with the same company for your whole career is over. Companies are not loyal to their employees for the long run. They may be a great place to work and provide good benefits but if it comes to protecting the bottom line they will let you go and rightfully so because they have a fiduciary responsibility to their stakeholders. So......take everyone's advice...then go with your gut! What is right for you?
  20. Ok from what I understand the Love Dog led AZ38SUPER astray during this match.....Tom how much are you fessing up to?

    Anniversary

A husband was in BIG trouble when he forgot his wedding anniversary. "Tomorrow," his wife angrily told him, "there had better be something in our driveway that goes from zero to 200 in five seconds flat!" The next morning, the wife looked outside and saw a small package in the driveway. She brought it inside, opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale. Funeral services for her husband have been set for Saturday.
  22. Hey guys, there is a rumor floating around out there that even though the Yuma match is full, if you just show up they will let you shoot it. We've been asked by Ruthie the secretary, to let everyone know that if you just show up you will be turned away from the match so please do not make the drive expecting to get in. Sorry!
  23. Get your deposit into Kay pretty quickly as it is filling up fast already. The app is on Kay's web page www.bang-inc.com. We look forward to meeting her! (oh and you too!)
  24. Good job, not only introduce her to the ladies camps as Ira said (www.bang-inc.com) but you can also get her involved in the ladies forum here so she has a chance to talk to other women shooters. There is a private area where she can ask questions she might not want to talk in front of the 'guys' about. Don't worry we won't lead her too far astray will we ladies?
  25. Rika, Can you PM me and tell me who told you that? I know it's not USPSA sanctioned but I always thought we were using USPSA rules up there on Tuesdays. It's best to ask M. Darren or one of those guys because they run the match. Rika, that really surprises me as well....well it is a fun club match and great to shoot.
