  1. http://www.uberprints.com Can make any design you want on any type of shirt, way less than Techware, Seriousy do the RO's really need a shirt that will outlast them ? They are gonna wear it for a few matches and thats probably it. I mean walking around with a shirt with a 10 year old date on it feels kinda weird to me. If it has a year on it I'm not gonna wear it longer than a year anyways.

  3. Are the parts listed as tool steel ? Alot of your cheaper parts are only surfaced hardened, you cut through that hardening and your trigger job doesnt last so long. Going with a jig is a good move the ed brown one is pretty simple and does a good job.
  4. The publicity machine will get rolling and the talking heads will fabricate their outrage at Pia being gone, yadda yadda yadda, when they get down to 3 they will have a "Surprise Twist" and she'll be back on.
  5. I had to look at a parts diagram to see what a magazine break is. Will the gun work if you just remove it ? based on the picture it looks like it would. If you have to keep it in for soemother function I dont see any reason you cant adjust the spring. You are just tuning an internal spring.
  6. HAvent watched the show but the performances get posted on you tube pretty quickly, Haley was trying way to hard,Lauren her outfit was so rediculous I couldnt get past it, Ive heard better at the karaoke bar. Pia can sing but still the same ole tired ass songs like the other two, Dont they ever do anything that was written in the last 10 years ?
  7. we need police for the police, they seem to do whatever, whenever, to whoever they please, and nothing you can do about it.
  8. What kinda bullets are you using ? Maybe you can get the grams running by extending the overall length and using a pointed FMJ bullet.
  9. adding more length to the bottom wont make a nose diving follower and spring setup stop nose diving, you will still have the same spring tension it will just be delayed a round or two. The only way I could see that helping is if the nose dive only happens on the last two rounds, which I doubt. Since yoour setup with factory followers is working why change ? You just need a bit more room, order the 141's and new wolff springs that are made for factory followers and the 141 pad.
  10. I'd be willing to bet Hennings knows what he is talking about. I'd probably just defer to his judgement.
  11. I thought the whole idea was for the kids to come up with something then test it, Not to simply just copy what an engineer has come up with.
  12. What is your production gun ? There are extended ported barrels available that nearly drop in for quite a few different guns, Also in steel the super high capacity of STI's isnt really needed. Take a 5 inch M&P add an extended ported barrel and a slide ride Cmore STS or delta point, respring and load 115 gr bullets to about 1000 fps with HS6. Your doing alot less double tapping in most steel matches than you would do in USPSA, and with the mouse fart load you wouldnt need a hole lot of comp efficiency.
  13. you dont see many SS 6" becasue there really isnt any sport or division where they are the best tool for the job. They are not legal in most SS games and a double stack is easier to load for L10, and has a huge capacity advantage in limited or open. A 6" doublestack just makes more since.
  14. saying, "hand cant touch the gun" is not the same thing as saying, "Hand can touch anywhere else"
  15. shooting is a game, (excluding carry/duty guns ) for most of us the gun we use for the game is just basically an expensive toy. I am sure I could hire a Ford Engineer and a sculpture to make a really great Mustang model, then hire an artist to paint it for me, But millions of people go buy the model kit and build one themselves. I get as much joy in building as I do shooting, I like the satisfaction of a gun I put together running 100% at a match, It doesn't ever happen the first time, and my guns arnt works of art but they are mine, So it comes down to your goals, many of the "just pay a pro" answers are from guys assuming you just want a good reliable gun to shoot matches, you (the OP) havent really stated what your goals are. You wont save money building your own, it wont work the first and probably second third fourth.....etc time, you'll spend money on tools you probably wont use again, you'll ruin some parts, you'll buy some wrong parts, but you will learn alot, and gain some personal satisfaction once you get it up and running.
  16. headspacing with the extractor is bad, think about sticking a 9mm in a 9X23 chamber, the extractor will sometimes hold it tight enough for the firing pin to set off the primer. But an extractor is designed to extract, not to headspace. If a loose extractor is causing light strikes your brass isnt chambering on the case mouth like it should. Pull the barrel and drop the rounds in, you should get a nice solid "chunk" sound with the primer flush with the hood, turn the barrel up and the round should fall out..
  17. 11 miles to the gallon ? thats insane, companies arnt even trying to improve mileage, Thats worse than my buddy's 2004 F250 V10 pulling 2 horses.
  18. excessive headspace or your gun is headspacing with the extractor, the major rounds cycle the rounds harder and jam the rounds a bit farther in the barrel than the minor loads. Pull the barrel and check the headspace.
  19. Go for it. The first 1911 I owned was one I built. I got some good advice, buy Kuhnhasens 1911 shop manual. Will tell you everything you need to know. You will learn a hole lot by building your own and getting it to shoot. You may not buy another but you'll never be standing around helpless if your gun quits at a big match.
  20. please keep us posted, this is probably the direction I will be going. What mileage is the 250 getting ?
  21. I generally dont drag race my pickup, So most of the tests I read about dont apply to me, Have you hooked it up to a load ? I pull horses with my standard cab short bed 5.4 liter high output. I am a conservative driver and get 18mpg empty and 15 towing. I see you cant get the turbo V6 in a standard cab shortbed. Seems a shame an XL or STX 4X4 shortbed standard cab would be pretty dang sporty. Hopefully my 2007 will hold up long enough for some diesels to come out. Or for some long term 100,000 mile plus data comes in on the ecoboost and towing performance. I just havnt gotton away from the hard fast rule when it comes to weight. "There's no replacement for displacement"
  22. yeh no kidding I really wish we could get some light and medium duty diesels like the rest of the world can buy.
  23. There seems to be alot more to this story than Sea world wants to let on. Tilikum is a captured wild orca used in a breeding program, So he's a really big wild predatory male animal that naturally feeds on warm blooded people size animals. Any one ever been around a domesticated, tame herbivore, male horse ? The first thing we do to them to help make them controllable is geld them. Tilikum has been involved in 3 fatalities, The first was a trainer who fell into his tank, the third was the recent case with conflicting reports, one says he grabbed her pony tail and pulled her in the tank, Basically was just playing, course he was 13,000lbs so it wouldnt take much. The second one has hints of Seaworld cover up, a homeless guy broke into the holding area and was found with bite marks and lots of bruising, cause of death was listed as Hypothermia
  24. what about one of the "We" mentioned in the first line ?
