Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. I just got my 550b from Brian 2 months ago. The 550b for me is great. It was very easy to put together. It may not have a case feeder like the 650 or the 1050 but I like the 550b. I was also on a budget. My start up costs for everything was about $1,500! This price includes 8 lbs of powder, 2,000 primers, 1,500 bullets, etc. It will take me a year to make back the money because I only shoot a few times a month. I say 550B all the way unless you have lots of cash than go 650 or even 1050!
  2. Two words::::: CLAYS / TITEGROUP !!!
  3. IF you were really my friend you would have emailed me and let me know not to waste the 60 seconds required to hit the stop button. I will get even and now to get -Even - with jay jay jay I am closing in on 55 and I not only have a full head of hair , but it is fairly hard to find any gray in my soft full hair. I have to go get a hair cut now because my full head of hair just grows so fast Maybe you can save some of that hair and sell it to me so I can glue some of that fine hair on my bald head. My wife hates that I wear a ball cap to hide my bald head.
  4. No it is not. My name is Jose. We share the same first letter but this is not me. I do not even know how to put a video on the internet. I am what you call a novice when it comes to computers. I was wondering how long before someone asked if this guy was me. He also has a full head of hair and I would kill for that.
  5. I looks like it gets hot in that garage that guys is in. Maybe that is why the fan was at full blast.
  6. You guys have to watch this guy. He starts off talking about reloading on a Dillion and by the end I am almost wetting my pants. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHnZFDPZ96Q
  7. This is the Ultimate Reloading Bench. Lots of space for work. The bench is very heavy, stable and bolted to the ground and wall. The top of the table is two by fours side by side with a 3/4 inch piece of sanded plywood (no splinters). The top of the table is 8 feet long and 4 feet deep so tons of room to add more presses. Also for added comfort I installed a 15,000 BTU portable air conditioning unit in this room (2 car garage).
  8. I guess the reason I have not had any problems is I normally reload the brass I fire out of my Glock with a Lone Wolf barrel. I did have to change from the Dillon resizing die because the Lone Wolf was not eating the cases out of the Dillon Die. The Lee U die is now working great.
  9. Glock 35 / Federal once fired brass / 4.2 grains TiteGroup / CCI primers / OAL 1.125 / crimp .20 / Montana Gold FMJ 180 grain 40S&W. I don't have a fav yet. I am new at reloading and this is my first load that I made major.
  10. Thanks for asking this. I was wondering the same thing. I have been reloading the brass and keeping the nickel for a later date. Now I know to just keep reloading the brass. I like yellow anyways, it looks like gold!
  11. I also now use the LEE U die (40 S&W) on my Dillion 550b. For some reason the dillion resize die would not make the cases small enough to fit into my lone wolf barrel. The LEE U die works great on the Dillion.
  12. Thnk You. I am not going to lie, I was worried when I pulled the trigger the first time. I had this vision of my new Glock 35 going up like a bomb. But the surprising thing I learned was that the reloads are less recoil than the store ammo I normally purchase. So I looked around the internet and did the math. It looks like the retail ammo I use is just a tad bit over 200 PF / 1110 feet per second. Shooting these reloads I made was like shooting a 9mm out of my 40s&w. So the next step for me is too shoot the 1,000 rounds of retail 40 I have and just reload from now on.
  13. Ok, I finally went down to the outdoor range to use the new crono and test fire what I had made. My first 20 rounds was a mess because the crono was reading incorrect velocities. After a quick read of the manual I moved the crono out from under the wood overhang it was under to give it a try. I didn't know the crono had to be in the sun light to work properly. Once I got it set up again it started reading consistant velocities. I used TiteGroup 4.0 grains / Montana Gold 180 Gr bullets (40 s&w) / OAL 1.125 / R P once fired brass. It was 185 degrees outside with little wind and I was at sea level (south Florida). Weapon used was a Glock 35 with a Lone Wolf barrel. I was surprised I was shooting an average of 931 feet per second with an average of 167 power factor and I was using only 4.0 grains of TiteGroup. I was planning on making 4.2 and 4.4 because a friend of mine uses 4.4 to make major out of his Glock 35. I was worried maybe the new crono was off but I guess I will just stick with 4.0 grains or maybe 4.2 grains to make major. I would hate to be at a match and find out my crono was off. I also had some rounds made with CLAYs. I sure liked the way this powder was feeling more than the TiteGroup. I only loaded minor loads and was getting an average power factor of 140-163. I was at an average 163 power factor with 3.6 grains of CLAYs. I had a lot of fun today shooting my first 110 rounds that I made in my garage. I did not blow off my fingers and now I am going back to the garage to make more rounds using TiteGroup. Now I know why the reloading bug is addictive.
