  1. If you have the money then go with Benelli M2. Mine team like a champ and ate everything I put in it except for very light loads. I like to skip all the "it'll do" middle ground options and jump straight into the gun that I'd eventually get.
  2. Now that they've released the enhanced Razor the previous version's prices have dropped. They can now be had for $900 when I thought I got a deal last year for $1100ish. Personally I don't think a few ounces is enough to get something else, but if you're starting from scratch and have the cash the new version would be a tempting option.
  3. I think the best shotshell caddy is a fully loaded Vepr 12 magazine. Jump into the open pool.
  4. I used an ELS belt and added a Carbon Arms ratchet system. That kept everything soo much more secure with a fully loaded belt. I'd recommend that addition to anyone.
  5. I put my Razor in an Aero Precision mount that hasn't let me down yet. It's certainly not as expensive as others listed, but I don't baby mine into the dump barrel and haven't found a reason to change to anything else.
  6. Adding to what others have said just shoot it and see what parts you feel ate holding you back. I will say though that I got the biggest return in opening up the loading port and would start there if I bought another one.
  7. I'll put my vote in for a 1-6. I haven't seen anything in my local matches that a 6x couldn't do out to 400 yards. I think there is such a thing as too much power and there seems to be a diminishing return from 6 to 8.
  8. Does anyone else use a kydex holster in open division for 3 gun matches?
  9. I have been experimenting with tumbling without pins and I'm now completely converted. It is soo much easier to manage the process without chasing pins all over my kitchen floor. I still pins but only on my long range 3 gun ammo. Not sure if it helps, but I don't load many match rifle rounds so it's not that much trouble.
  10. I got an open back set of grips and they let my finger get much more comfortably on the trigger than closed back grips do. They're a little pricey but worth it.
  11. I did pretty much exactly what you did. I put an XLR stock on the rifle and it put a little more weight in the rear. It handles even better now than before. It jumps around a little more than my 18", but hasn't been a problem yet.
  12. I have heard that one would require alot of fitting to get it to work with the PT EVO grip. Did you have an STI grip and it fit well?
  13. I checked with RHT when I first ordered and was told they are getting out of open holster business.
  14. Does anyone here run a kydex holster for their Atlas Chaos? I have a Chaos on order and currently have an Alpha X ready to go for USPSA, but I think I'd like to have a kydex holster for 3 gun.
  15. I'm a big fan of the agressive checkering on the TK release. It also looks pretty sharp on a stainless gun too if that matters to you.
  16. Do you have a link to the full survey? I sm unable to find it after a few searches.
  17. I did an exhaustive search here and ordered a Chaos. My experience with my Titan and the turnaround time are definitely why I went with Atlas.
  18. Submitted an order for a Chaos and only one 170mm mag. I think I will just run the 170 supplemented by my other 140s and occassionally use the 40 round mag in outlaw 3-Gun matches. Here is a picture of the custom magazine. I like the idea of pushing the limits of Open.
  19. Thanks everyone for the feedback and advice. I submitted my KL-12 order and I think I will just run the DPP 7.5 dot alone for a while when it gets here. If you guys don't feel the need for two I doubt I will either.
  20. You guys make a good point about the different recoil characteristics of a shotgun when you turn it to use the offset dot. I had not considered that. Whether or not a dot is neccessary I can't speak to since I havent used one yet. I see top performers like Josh Froelich and Scott Greene using them, but there is much much more than an offset dot that separates my performance from theirs.
  21. To set the stage my main game is 3-Gun and I also shoot USPSA to improve my pistol skills. I am about to order an Atlas Chaos and need some magazine advice. I have the opportunity to purchase a custom 40 round magazine that I want to use in outlaw 3-Gun matches. My choice is either get 3 170mm mags from Atlas or sacrifice two of those for the custom mag. I have four 140 mm mags already. 1) Can I get by with one 170mm starting out in Open for both USPSA and 3-Gun? 2) Will saving a reload on a pistol array same me that much time? Also interested in any other opinion.
  22. I picked up a 7.5 DPP for just that reason. I think it was one of your past comments that gave me the idea. It's great to hear that Mike recommends the same method. So you think that the offset mount might be too unstable to pull off 50 yard+ slug shots?
  23. I'm about to order a Dissident KL-12 and have a question about how people use two dots on their open shotgun. I was wondering about the practicality of using the primary dot for more common close birdshot targets and using the offset dot for slugs and the less common hard lean shot. Or should I use the same zero and holds for both?
  24. I contacted Weber and they said that they should have some available for the Chaos by the end of the year which should be around the time my Chaos is delivered.
  25. Don't overlook a Smith and Wesson 19. I have one laying around that I want to tool up and use in IDPA.
