  1. Thanks I can't wait to get out there and tear up some steel, clays, and paper.
  2. This is my current setup for steel challenge matches where I know I won't suck it up and need extra reloads
  3. I think I might give IDPA a try solely to get to compete with my old 19. I wish some of my new Smiths felt as slick and well put-together as that one.
  4. Someone who has been around a little longer may want to chime in, but what I picked up from the forum and did to mine was basically just aggressively bobbing it.
  5. I had this same problem loading up some bayous. My fix was increasing the bell just enough to stop the case from scraping the bullet. I seat and crimp in different stations.
  6. This is exactly what I had in mind. I need to construct something that will use a portion of my match bag. Did you use delrin and metal rods?
  7. Yeah those look great. What are the barrel lengths?
  8. I'm actually looking for a comp and have been directed to Allchin and Tandemkross. I know they're are people much smarter than me designing these things, but does a .22lr produce enough gas for side cuts to benefit the shooter. My simple brain thought that if anything at all only top cuts might be effective for such a diminutive round.
  9. Those Karl Nills look great. I had some on a 627 snub nose and loved them. I don't think my fingers are quite long enough for the closed back grip though.
  10. In restricted states shooting in the revolver division seems like the way to go.
  11. I have the same concern about going to my first USPSA and 3 Gun matches. All these responses are what I had hoped for. I'm sure I'll still look like a newb out there either way though.
  12. Compared to central alabama clubs that's a large turnout for the revolver division. At least looking at practiscore it appears that revolver is pretty much dead in my area. I guess I'll need to look those guys up to have a rough benchmark of my progress.
  13. Blue Bullets have worked great for me sitting over W231 and Titegroup. They're accurate, feed reliably, and load easily. Smurf fingers is a small price to pay.
  14. Put together a rimfire rifle for steel challenge. Began life as a basic bi$@% Ruger 10/22. Upgraded the trigger with a KIDD single stage trigger drop in unit. Barrel got swapped out with a KIDD lightweight fluted aluminum sleeved bull barrel. Threw it in a Boyds SS Evolution stock. Added some additional parts starting with a KIDD magazine release, KIDD bolt buffer, KIDD bolt handle charging assembly. I also threw a C-more 8 moa dot on top. I might be slightly one- sided in the components I like to use. This one can be shot much faster than I am capable of going.
  15. I like this idea from my storage perspective. I wonder if I could use the same bored in a can and in a bag. Also, not to derail the topic but I did notice that those are short Colts. I just recently bought 500 pieces and was wondering what load you used. I was thinking of picking up Bayou 160 s but hadn't settled on the powder.
  16. This is exactly what I was envisioning. Did you use a wooden board and wooden dowels? And is that the Midway match range bag? One last question how many clips can you fit at a time?
  17. I have been shooting the outlaw steel matches at CAGC off and on for the past year. Since it's in my backyard I think I'm going to start there with USPSA. Brock's Gap will be my next stop for sanctioned steel matches and 3 gun. Good to know there is another Forum member shooting in my area
  18. Dothan might be just little out of my range but I've been looking at the other clubs for USPSA matches. I've also been told that Mobile has maybe the most active USPSA revolver shooters in the state. I might make a weekend out of shooting a match down there.
  19. I think this is similar to what I had in mind. If I could construct something that would fit in the smaller bag I use for matches that would be ideal. I would just like to upgrade from my plano box. Like Justin M I'd rather leave my full range bag in the car.
  20. There's a thread here from 4 years ago discussing the storage and transportation of loaded Moon clips. I'm just getting started in revolver competition and wanted to see if anyone has developed a new way or changed up their method for bringing loaded Moon Clips to a match. I would love to find a manufactured insert for range bag like the ones user Brian Gonsalves made. Are my only options right now to stick with my fishing tackle box or draw my own plans for a rack?
  21. I finally assembled mine recently. - JP-15 with Vortex Razor HD Gen 2 - M2 worked over by Hawkeye Ordinance - Atlas Gunworks Titan
  22. That looks pretty great. Much more refined than mine. I wasn't skilled enough to leave any material behind. It was a complete hack job. What kind of grips are you using?
