  1. Just got a pair of Oakley Tombstone Reaps and I am loving the Prizm lenses. They added contrast that I didn't know I was missing.
  2. Agreed the KIDD drop in trigger kit is fantastic. Zero creep and resets on a dime.

    Will,

Are you running the 2 Gun match at Brock's Gap this weekend? If so I'd love to shoot it, but I'm struggling to submit my registration payment on practiscore. Isc there a workaround?

    Thanks,

    Adam Johnson

  4. I'm trying to straighten up a RHT holster for 3 gun. What are you using here as a spacer? That looks like exactly what I need.
  5. Decided to go ahead and place an order: 14.5" Light Profile Barrel 12.5" Handguard Titanium Comp ULMOS Aluminum BCG 2 Piece Adjustable Gas Block I'll throw a Trijicon TR24 on it and compare it directly to an 18" upper with the same barrel profile. I'm curious to see differences in recoil impulses and target transitions.
  6. After a rough estimation the entire rifle build weights with optics are below. Light Countour: 7.3lbs Ultralight Contour: 6.8lbs I don't think anyone would consider those super lightweight builds, but it would mean the difference of a half pound on the front of the rifle. Do you guys think I would lose the ability to hold an ultralight barrel steady for say 100 yard offhand shots due to having so much less weight out front? Or should I stop stressing, order the ultralight, and just practice since it's the mechanic not the tool that matters?
  7. Invictus Practical caddies have worked great for me and the customer service has made me a repeat customer.
  8. I am planning on ordering a 14.5 inch upper from JP to use in bay style 3 gun hoser matches. I currently have an 18 inch upper from JP and even though it isn't holding me back in any way I would like something a little faster. My question is for anyone with experience with JP's ultralight barrel contour or with any super light build. I worry about going too light and not being able to hold it on target during offhand shooting and possibly having to fight an increased recoil impulse that I could avoid with a slightly heavier barrel. Has anyone built one to light for competition? -Adam
  9. Rusty. It was a lot of work, but 3750 rounds and a sore shoulder later I'm set for quite a while.
  10. Issue 1: I originally had a trr8 sitting in my alpha x and it didn't feel like it needed support, but now I have aheavier 627 and I want to install the revolver muzzle support. When I screw in the muzzle support to the holster it locks up the holster. Has anyone else experienced this? Issue 2: My trr8 had a very tight fit, but since I only used it for steel challenge I would lightly set it in the holster just enough to hold it there and then draw easily. I now want to shoot USPSA and the heavier 627 falls deeper into the holster and gets wedged so now I think I need to widen the holster so that it will fit without forcing it. Even after watching Saul's videos I'm still slightly confused on where to take away material. Do you guys have any advice on where to remove material? Just how loosely does your revolver sit in the holster?
  11. Now that I use CCI SV almost exclusively I need to clean mine far less frequently. It gets cleaned every 500 or so rounds.
  12. You might have a better dehydrator than I do because mine never seemed to do the trick even when I lowered the number of cases. Now I can slam a cookie sheet full and in thirty minutes I have dry, if a little warm, cases.
  13. I think I'm going to try this. It would be nice if I can get the same result without pins. Does the Wash/Wax leave any type of residue on the cases?
  14. This has been my experience too. I found that if I kept the number of cases down at around 750 that they cleaned faster. With dawn dish soap and a small amount of lemishine I was cleaning batches in 45 minutes to an hour. Then letting them dry over night. Rifle cases dry slower for obvious reasons so those went in the oven on its lowest temperature setting without any discolorization.
  15. I bought this and tried to use it, but it doesn't seem strong enough to pick up many pins. I usually wind up just scraping them out of the frankford arsenal separator.
  16. I started wet tumbling recently after years of using ground walnut as media and I'm not sure what took me so long to convert. Even though I know there isn't any performance difference I love my like new shiny brass. Giving my old friends a new look. No more dust or walnut pieces everywhere. Now I'm just chasing metal pins all over the house. Walnut on the left wet tumbled on the right.
  17. Right now mine is cluttered in the best way possible.
  18. A hawkeye ordinance video talked me out of buying a tricked out CZ or a bone stock STI. I went straight to an Atlas Titan and I would do it all over again. After watching this video I'm trying to talk myself out of an open gun.
  19. I would want to know about target vs sight focus. If there's a rule of thumb of distances to to have a hard target focus or a hard sight focus.
  20. I love my JP low mass carrier. I have the stainless version as I was worried about the longevity of an aluminum bcg. Add this to JP's adjustable gas block and silent capture spring and you have a sweet shooting rifle.
  21. I'll repeat what others have about making sure the expander die puts enough bell on the case so that you're not scraping off blue flakes everywhere. I have used Blue Bullets to good effect in my glock factory and KKM barrel, Atlas Titan (though it likes fmjs better), CZs and various S&W revolvers.
  22. I have Weber Tactical pouches on my belt. They have great retention and release easily enough. I accidentally ordered bullets rearward and they were kind enough to let me swap them out 4 bullets for word even though it was my mistake. I recommend them.
  23. Threads like these are why I have credit card debt
