  1. Looks good and not bad with the hack saw.
  2. I have shot Short Colt for years and I only use my thumb for extracting. The palm plant is used by many when not even needed in fact I saw it used on 625's.As for sticky extractions a quick ream of the cylinder or polish will fix that. You will have less of a chance with a straight walled case than a tapered one such as the 9mm. As far as over the max pressure for the case yes you probably are according to loads found in loading manuals. I don't believe the loads used to make minor are even close to max pressure. Sure with the wrong powder and short oal you can raise the pressure to unacceptable pressures. If I remember right there is someone in Europe that is shooting major in USPSA. Not that I would try that. Just remember big bullets = slow powders and small bullets = fast powders. Lots of information on 38 short colt and loads here on BE.
  3. Nobody said faster just locks in better when not in use. The draw is in the hands of the beholder, whether it be a race holster or a kydex. Look at the draws from Bob Munden and that was from leather. Granted he had his hand on the revolver but I still don't think there is anyone who could beat him even if they had their hand on the revolver. Maybe not even holding it in their hand,
  4. Have you noticed or am I just crazy that here lately when you pull up a video the ad before the video is Hillary Clinton. How absurd is that and that is the last person I want to see and how did they tie that to a gun video?
  5. The DAA is just as secure or more due to the lock. You will not be disappointed with the holster. As for the Blade-Tech it is a fine holster and does work well it just doesn't have the locking mechanism. As for Mike's work cherish it as it is some of the best action work that is out there and being that Mike no longer takes work the 625 alone with his action work is something that makes the revolver special.
  6. For what my opinion is worth I would buy the pro and put the money saved into a good action job(do it yourself) a custom barrel to your likings and length and last but not least Hearthco moon clips. I currently shoot 5" barrels in USPSA and 6.5" barrels in ICORE. I truly think the 5" swings better and stops better. I won't go into bashing the 929 as some have found it to work well for them but it will only shoot 9mm and if you are set up for only 9mm then it is probably the way to go. With the 627 you have the versatility of 38 Short Colt, 38 Long Colt, 38 Special and if you deer hunt 357 Magnum. Almost like 4 guns in one. Just a humble revolver shooters opinion.
  7. Buy the insert for the DAA and my opinion is that you don't need the muzzle extension.
  8. I have one I can let you borrow. PM me your address. I have the one made by TK Custom or are you talking about the other one that is flat.
  9. Don't tell me you are coming to the dark side. ☺Not until I'm old and washed-up. So that will be next week sometime? You are pretty good for an old washed up kinda guy though! Is he referring to us when he is saying old? I know he can't mean we are also washed up.???
  10. Don't tell me you are coming to the dark side. ☺
  11. Thanks for the replys. I ordered an 8, 9 and 10 from Wolff. I just noticed in my post it said I installed a complete should have read comp.

    No powder

Dillon 650 with powder check for cases. Great safety measure for under or overcharged powder charges.
  13. Where can I get recoil springs from 8 to 11 lbs for my 9mm Elite Limited? I had a complete added and it will not function with any of the factory springs that come with the pistol. If I calculated right the lowest spring I have is 12 lbs. I would like to try and 8, 9, and a 10. I will only be shooting 130 to 150 pf. I don't care much for major. Thanks Dean
  14. Dean, that's pretty much what we're doing next weekend in Ankeny--10 stages of ICORE on Saturday and 10 stages of USPSA on Sunday! Exactly and if I was the boss of myself I would be there. But my woman boss says I have to go to a wedding.
  15. What would be nice would be Icore National on Sat the Uspsa National on Sunday at the same range.
  16. I checked practicscore, nothing is posted yet.
  17. Just a quick shout out there. Has anybody received the Smith & Wesson knife from the gift card we all received in our bags at the nationals?
  18. My question is to all who have voted to eliminate a division is. Do you or have you ever shot that division and if you haven't why does it bother you that the division is offered so others can shoot what they have or like?
  19. I shoot my revolver and finish from the middle to the top half and I am the only revolver shooter. When someone gives me a hard time I break out my open or limited and finish at the top and then explain to them I can beat them at anytime but I choose to shoot revolver because it is fun and I love the challenge. If I just want to be at the top I would just pull out one of the others. I think it proves equipment can buy you places at your local matches. Shoot revolver and enjoy for yourself after all when you do start beating some of the bottom feeders the feeling is great.
  20. Each gun is different and I do have a V-comp that shoots Hornady 147gr .356 really well.
  21. Found better accuracy with .358 160 gr coated bullets. If you are shooting a 627 then your barrel is probably a .357. Why shoot a smaller bullet.
  22. I think Apex Tactical makes a replacement blade made out of steel. I don't know if it shows up on their website but give them a call and talk to Randy.
