  1. I did do that and the old tube still would not feed properly
  2. I am loading to 1.13 to 1.135 Like I said I have run over 800 rounds. 500 were factory ammo that was longer OAL with NO issues at all.
  3. yup, did EVERYTHING suggested. Did all that when I assembled the pad onto the tube
  4. I recently had a Glock 33rnd mag fail on me. It was attached to a TF 41+1 extension using their spring. The mag would load ok, but feeding was the problem. It would feed 3 or 4 rounds and the follower would not advance. I would have bump the mag to make it work. After stripping off another 3 to 4 rounds it would happen again. This mag had been working fine for over 800 rounds. thinking this was an issue with a dirty mag I took it apart and cleaned the tube, spring, follower, and pad. reassembled it and the same issue was still there. I inspected the spring and it was twisted more than 15 degrees. I reached out to Robin at TF and we diagnosed the issue and felt it was a bad spring. He sent me a new spring. I installed the new spring and the issue was still there. I compared the new spring against the old one. The old spring was several inches shorter and obviously twisted. To diagnose it more, I took my other 33rnd apart and put the old spring in that tube. The mag fed but you could tell that the spring tension was not right. I put the new spring in my 2nd 33 rnd tube with the TF pad and it loaded fine and stripped off rounds properly. I also put the 33rnd spring into the old tube and the feed problem remained. This brings me to my question; can a magazine tube become torqued enough to cause the follower to jam in the tube? Looking at both, I do not see any twist but the tube will not allow the rounds to advance properly. I am very confused about this. I am ordering a couple of new OEM 33rnd mags from shooters connection. If this is a common thing, shouldn't the tube have lasted more than 800 rounds?
  5. Walther mags aren't cheap. 3 more mags would run me about 100+ bucks Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
  6. I am focused on PCC exclusively right now. My only other weapon system is a Walther 45 ACP M2 12 round. I only have 2 mags for that gun giving me 24 rounds AND iron sights. The combination of shooting a match with both iron sights and an optic right now seems a bit daunting.
  7. Hey guys, one of our local clubs hosts a 2 gun match. I was thinking of signing up for the match, Mainly because a local AWESOME shooter is going to hold a clinic for one of the squads and I would like to get in on that clinic. I have already verified that I can use my PCC as both pistol and rifle. (kinda makes things easy as far as holsters, mags and such.) I asked what the rifle targets are set out to and was told 50 yard max. My first question is this: my main optic is currently set for 18 yards. Should I go and rezero my dot to 25 and hope for the best on closer targets OR leave it where it is and figure the math for the difference in POI over POA? ( I also have a crimson trace 206 green laser I could reset that out to 18 yards and my optic I could set to a farther distance) 2nd question - OR should I put another optic on my PCC on a 45 degree mount and set that for 50 yards and adjust POI for any targets between 18 and 50 yards? I am really confused on the best solution for using a PCC in a 2 gun match. Looking forward to the responses. Mark
  8. I run the diamondback 9mm AR. After a few mods, that everyone else makes on other guns as well, it is running like a champ. I have made B class with the gun in 4 months. I changed out the mil-spec trigger to a Hiperfire 24-3g; I changed out the mil-spec buffer and spring to a Blitzkrieg buffer and a JP-308 spring; I changed out the stock magpul grip to a magpul rubberized grip, I swapped out the mil-spec safety for a tungsten 60 degree ambi safety. I added a B.A.D. lever to the gun to make loading easier and if I do ever run a mag dry it will help as well there. The last mod I did was changed out the charging handle to a Devil Dog side charging handle that attaches to the pic rail. I put a Burris FF3 8 MOA dot on the the rail with a 1/2" riser and a crimson trace 206 green laser. I had to get a replacement FPB pin that fell out on the first day of firing and that was like pulling teeth but the gun as a whole has worked great. I have about 1250 into the gun. some folks start at 1200 and add the mods I put in. If I were do to anything else it would be to change out the barrel to a SS fluted barrel. that would be only to lighten the 6.25 pound gun even more. BMILLER is working on a magwell for me as well Diamondback's pistols are crap. Their riles have an overall real good rep.
  9. I use UM TACTICAL mag pouches. 20.00 plus shipping. They are great. I can run full speed (which is not that fast for a 54 yr old) and they stay in place even at odd angles. Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
  10. here is what I have settled on; 125gr blue bullets 4.1 gr W231 CCI 550 primers 1.135 OAL I started with what the guy I got the 650 from had the powder measure set up (4.6 gr of 231) loaded and shot about 100 rounds of that setup. Too much muzzle flip and a harsh felt recoil. I backed the powder off to 4.3 grains and it was better but still some extra recoil I did not like. I backed it down again to 4.1 and that has worked great. Feels awesome, no feed issues and is grouping the same as my factory loads I was using from freedom munitions. I have not been able to chrono the load as I don't have a chrono and not been able to get with any of my shooting buddies who do have one to find out what the load PF is.
  11. the taylor freelance sight has videos on how to make sure your +10's run well. I had a problem getting them to even load past 30 rounds when I first got them. I had to smooth off the sharp corners on the follower and bevel the end of the mag inside where the mag joins the extender. After that, and some pushing with my mag loader I was able to get them to 41. The factory Freedom Munitions I was running would not feed when the mag was at 41, so I backed it off to 40 and all is good. Can't stress enough to watch the video that is on the TF sight. (this has been discussed a lot in other threads)
  12. I have only used the mil-spec trigger that came with my pcc and the Hiperfire 24 3g that I have in it now. The difference is way obviously different. I would not go back to the stock for any amount of money. The only reason I keep it around is as a spare if the other trigger breaks in a match. Most of the guys I shoot pcc with either have the 24c or the 24 3g. I have not seen any other triggers used. (except for the mpx guys who for some reason want to keep their triggers, lol) That's my .02 for you
  13. Except for us WIDE feet guys.... lol. I looked around and finding wide widths in any cleat was just about impossible. The Solomon Speedcross 4 WIDE actually fit and was very VERY comfortable. I can easily see me wearing them all day without issue. I envy you D width guys.
  14. I just bought a pair of the Solomon Speedcross 4 wides. Damn are they comfortable. Lets see how they do on the range at the next out door match. 130 bucks but for the fit, it is worth it. BOUGHT THEM AT REI. Same price as online 130.00
  15. I shoot the 24-3G. I have pulled the trigger on a buddies gun with the 24c. NO different
  16. Having never done this before, I like to learn from others and then make a decision. It saves a lot of expense when entering any expensive hobby. Learning from other hobbyists is what makes it a great community.
  17. cool, I might stand a chance on beating you. LOL
  18. What defines a "slow barrel"? Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
  19. We have hijacked this original thread. IF we want to continue this rules discussion we really should open a new thread in the USPSA rules thread and allow this OP question to be answered here as an equipment discussion
  20. I have already answered that question. and the OP was asking about barrel porting to specifically reduce muzzle flip. That sort of porting is at the front of the barrel. The MPX port is actually called a TIppet by SIG and is located at the rear of the barrel. IT IN NO WAY reduces flip or rise of the muzzle. That is NOT considered a barrel port, it is internal to the operation of the gun hence that is allowed.
  21. I believe that port is a gas port for the receiver to cycle, similar to an AR 15. NOT the same as a magna ported barrel to reduce muzzle flip.
  22. AS I just went and did the RO class... IF a competitor is called out on a modification of their gun, it is the competitor's responsibility to cite the rule supporting the modification. AS there is no rule allowing Porting of a PCC barrel it is up to the discretion of the Range Master / MD how to place the shooter. As the ONLY rule allowing for barrel porting is D1 / 16, even with pcc 6.2.5.1, I see it as the RM / MD would place the shooter in OPEN.
  23. I still say that you will get bumped to open or since there is no supporting rule ALLOWING barrel porting in PCC. The ONLY division allowing barrel porting is OPEN. SO, if you have your PCC barrel ported you will be put into OPEN. (Appendix D1 / 16) PCC 6.2.5.1 does not apply.
