  1. Well I just ordered one. Hopefully I can figure out how to install it. Lol.
  2. Who the s#!t decided we need sectional matches to be 2 days? Thanks a lot ohio.
  3. TBH this sounds boring. You leave only one way to shoot the stage. So a huge part of the fun of USPSA is left out. How to break down the stage in a way that works for you. Could have that 20yd mini be available at say 10yd and 30yd. Put the 3 target array closer to the 4 open targets so you could blend all of them with a larger transition between the two and the closer one having a no shoot between the two closer to the second array.
  4. Thanks. I figured as much. I really like the way hard chrome looks but it makes refinishing a gun way more expensive then it should be. So this one won't get the serrations.
  5. Yes it is. Being left handed I dont get to enjoy all the "not a thumb rest" thumb rests the right handed shooters do. So I do this. Honestly it works great for me anyways. All I need it a reference point for my weak hand thumb.
  6. She seems to be liking the akia one. But she isn't picky so who knows really. She just likes shooting and hanging with me more then the rest of it I think. Which is 100% cool with me.
  7. Thanks everyone. I ended up just splitting the difference of the 2 loads anyways and loading at 3.1gn. Bullet weight is 147gn.
  8. I've shot 8+ majors a year for the last 4 years. A5 for the last 5 years, 2022 CO nats, 2021 SS nats, 2018 L10 nats and the last FLOP Shannon Smith put on. I haven't seen a match yet that I walked away as a C/B class shooter saying it was too hard. Sure there have been some stages where I was like how in the heck am I gonna do this. But to me that's fun. Double half IPSC targets on swingers 30 yards away was spicy but fun. This year at A5 there was a stage I know for a fact very high level GM shooters were complaining it was too hard. To me it wasn't. One side was upper half of USPSA target with no shoots in between and other side was 4 full uspsa targets with different parts as hard cover. Had to shoot one side of stage strong hand, then move to other box and shoot either strong or week hand. The hard cover targets were pretty far out but not impossible. I think they had this stage at race gun nats as a fixed time stage. It was super fun and you could shoot fast (as I did) and risk a few Mike's or slow down on SH/WH and make sure you got the hits. TLDR: I haven't seen the so called too hard match yet. I have seen plenty of the hoser matches both locals and majors and if it becomes common I stop going.
  9. I don't really carry anything special for rain. Just a carhartt rain defender light jacket if the weather is cooler. Other then that just my normal clothes. Gonna get wet either way.
  10. Mine doesn't even have the magwell scew in it and it's tight dropping mags with the TF back strap.
  11. So 3.0gn cleanshot, ginex spp, 1.10 OAL, BMB 147gn bullets out of a brand new canik rival is 130pf average of 10 rounds. Same load except 3.2gn amd it was 136pf. Since I'm a bit lazy I'm going to load the rest of the 1000 rounds at 3.1 and do some drills and hopefully an indoor match amd see if I like this gun or not. So far it is really really nice shooting.
  12. Ahh ok. I've read some places that say the bullet will actually be going faster at 10ft then it was at 1ft. Chono readings seemed to he pretty much what I expected though.
  13. I am wondering if I can use the chrono reading from 1ft away to figure out what it would be at 10ft away. I tested two loads today but wasn't about to he 10ft behind my chrono because there were other people at the range. Hopefully someone much smarter then me can help me out. First load: My average FPS at 1ft was 891.4 and average PF was 130.83 Second load: Average FPS at 1ft was 930.3 and average PF was 136.71
  14. I've shot 3 cases of their 135gn between my stock 2, A01LD, p320 legion. Great bullets.
  15. Who cares about pre travel. If your prepping the trigger correctly you only have it when doing the first shot after draw or reload. The rest of the time you bring trigger forward enough to reset and thats it.
  16. Update for anyone who reads this and is looking for a tungsten guide rod for a rival. Just order the W74 guide rod. The diameter is larger amd fits the 1911 recoil spring way better then the g3 glock one. And the w74 one is also heavier. Also be mindful when installing the guide rod as the uncaptured spring likes to try and pop though the front of the slide.
  17. Noticed this as well with my rival. I'm thinking it has something to do with how the TF backstrap puts pressure on the frame because it doesn't just slide up like the factory one. I'm hopeful it will wear in and be fine.
  18. I have an MS2 on my sas 2 commander. Probably about 200 rounds now or so. Workes fine. Dot isn't as bright as I like coming from an alpha 3. Decent for my idpa once a year gun though.
  19. I have some but didn't like it enough to switch. Seemed to run out of the gun way more then the Wilson Combat lube.
  20. Around Detroit diesel is $5.40-5.75. I'll still reload mostly because I am now picky about my ammo for competition.
