  1. This is just for me and what I like. I shot CO for 1.5 years after shooting limited and SS for 4 years. I'm blind in one eye and always struggled with lining up 3 things to aim. But I was pretty good at point shooting. Had a custom limited gun built and have an open top end built for it as well. I messed around at the end of the season 2 years ago with open and while it was fun all I really liked was the dot. Much easier for a one eyed guy. So I changed to CO and progressed from a heavily modified P320 to a tanfo stock 2 to an AO1LD. Really liked the A01 and S2. Heard LO was maybe gonna be a thing and was/am burnt out with majors and worrying about match placement ect... so I had D2C build me a LO gun. Instant fun level increase by a large ammount. The gun is stupid fun to shoot. I always love a really good 1911 trigger amd the ergonomics of them is a personal preference. Started shooting it around mid February and already have about 1500 rounds through it. Decided before the announcement of LO that either I'm shooting this gun in open minor or LO and don't care of anyone's opinion on how it is or isn't the "best" setup for a division. It's fun, well balanced, low recoil (good for my nerve damage in my elbows) and looks awesome. So in the end I'm gonna shoot it.
  2. Yes I do. I happen to decide it wasn't needed after years of having both with me at all matches. Well a few matches into the idea my optic broke and........ I shot the last stage for sure and probably 3 of the 4 stages with a broken optic. Now having said that I didn't realise the optic was broke till I was doing a practice session a couple days late and kept loosing the dot, re zeroing it and loosing it again. Pushed on the glass and it popped out. At the match I was just getting all my hits about 3 inches to the right of where I aimed. Would I have switched guns due to it? Probably. Now my new theory is 2 is 1, 1 is none and will have 3 open minor/LO guns with me at matches. Well I'll have 3 guns. Probably only 2 at matches.
  3. PD 124GN v2 JHP. and if you buy them by the case they are 9c a piece. Everyone else is above that.
  4. Ehh the double standard has been going on since the beginning of time. This nor anything else people do except not renewing memberships en Mas will change it.
  5. Most organizations don't post any meeting minutes until the next meeting where they are voted on.
  6. None of this really matters. The top shooters who put in the extreme ammount of effort needed to be at the very top winning multiple national titles will still be the same. Let's just get rid of all division rules and you can shoot what you think you can win with.
  7. Thanks for the offer. I loaded some test rounds tonight and will get this and my HS6 loads tested this week some time.
  8. I think I'm gonna do another batch of test loads starting at 6.6 and going to 7.0gn. I don't get any bad pressure signs which is good but I really feel like either I messed up on powder drop or wrote something down wrong.
  9. Gun info: 2011 open gun. 5" OAL KKM 9mm bushing barrel with D2C cone comp. Load info: 7.1gn Winchester Autocomp, mixed headstamp rollsized brass, ginex small pistol primers, PD 124JHP v2, 1.170 OAL. See picture for chrono data. Is this OK? I'm used to 9 major being under 1400FPS. But if I go lower then 7gn FPS drops quickly. 6.8gn only gets me 164PF.
  10. For real. Will save me a lot of time and headache since I load a bunch for me (9 minor) and for the wife (9 major).
  11. Wow if you buy 5k at a time it comes to $0.22 a round. My current reloads cost about $0.26 aa round. I'm now really considering just buying a case of 5k.
  12. Yeah I'm pretty sure most of us use that same spray lube. I'm not worried about the lube. I just get tired of the brass shavings.
  13. I like them because they offer a 13% discount if you buy 3 cases. And that works out to right about 7c a bullet.
  14. I just started. No adverse effects. Gone through about 1000 rounds so far. Very happy with the results. Using brass monkey bullets.
  15. Haha you know I probably should have. I almost always do. Oops. Yes little brass shavings. Or specs if you are talking to common folk like me. And sounds good. I do like my ammo to shine nice. It and the gun gotta look exceptionally good. Lord knows my shooting doesn't always.
  16. Does anyone dry tumble ammo after loading it? I seem to get little specs of brass on my loads amd am wondering if this would be a quick way to clean them up?
  17. Can I put a Lyman M die in place of the hold down die on my rl1100? And would it do anything to help the sticking of the powder funnel?
  18. Haha I LOVE Ginex SPP. Both the brass colored ones and the silver colored ones. I got about 20k I've used over the last year. All in either a CZC A01LD or a tanfo stock 2. CZ has a 13.5# hammer spring and tanfo has a 15.5# spring.
  19. I love RS Comp. 3.2gn with a 135gn coated bullet is my go to load. I recently switched to SW Cleanshot and while it's a good load it's not as good a comp IMO. but it's not an apples to apples comparison. Load is 3.2gn with a 147gn coated bullet. Next I'm going to try N320.
  20. Well I may eat my words a little on this. Shot what ever one they have with the 8moa circle the other day and practice and damn if it isn't about the same as my 8moa dot. Crisp too. Wonder if the circle would be better for my girlfriend as she has a stigmatizem. And her R3max died Saturday at the match.
  21. I'm thinking this will be my next press. One question though. Wouldn't all three independent functions have to always be at the same speed?
  22. Well my how times change as we grow. My open gun still has a thumb rest but I never shoot it. I took it off my limited gun. But this past year I shot CO and being a lefty I didn't have a way to put one on my tanfo or CZC so I had the frame serrated on the right side on the CZC as it is my main gun. I liked it a lot. Gives me the index point I want and a little bit of traction to not have my thumb slide up and slow down the slide any. In fact I liked it enough to have it done to my new LO 2011. if I do go back to open or limited I won't keep the thumb rest on them.
