    Bad product names

I went to the local greenhouse for some more tomato plants and one of the brands there was better bush. I have a whole row planted now just because.
  2. So, I've been shooting open for just over a year and I'm approaching A class now. Yesterday I went to the range for a rare practice session. I was shooting some drills to work on transitions and splits from 5, 7, 10 and 15 yards. I brought along my limited guns since I had a ton of ammo made for them and they were feeling lonely. When I started comparing my hits and times I was really confussed, my open times and hits were slower than my limited times and hits. Shouldn't that be the other way around? I'm mean I'm not knocking on the door to master or anything, but I'm a pretty competitive solid B class all around. What gives? Am I still trying to shoot my open gun like a limited gun? I switched to open to improve my limited shooting, but I know it has not improved it that much.
  3. I think Merlin means the 5 in will be the same because he will not be shooting it, because he likes the 6 in soo much.
  4. Too funny. I've run some timing drills with my 5 inch vs. 6inch vs open gun there is not much difference on some drills, but over all the 6 inch fat free beats them all hands down.

    WATCHES

My picture would be my blank wrist. I broke the band on my old cheap watch 16 years ago about this time of year. I realized that as a new teacher on the first summer break, I didn't need a watch. I have not worn a watch since. It's a streak I'm kind of proud of. Nobody at work ever asks me what time it is, except for the new teachers. I'm far from a watch snob, but I shoot with some guys that are big time....hey where is BigGuy with his pics?
  6. Same here: "more than one". It is a true answer Heh. Here's a pic of my Expedition, loaded (floor-to-ceiling, from the liftgate to the back of the front seats) for a simple "3-gun" weekend with a friend. I think when we were done we counted 16 guns, something upwards of 5k rounds of ammo, and that didn't include the primers and powder we ended up dragging back from the vendor tent. B You call that alot for three gun? We have that many on any given weekend for a pistol only match. I always just hope we don't get pulled over for speeding. I don't care what kind of badge you have it's hard to explain 15+ guns(some loaded/carried) and enough ammo to take over a small third world country speeding through Florida on I-95
  7. Shoot there was plenty of room in the bag to angle your gun. I shoot a full sized open gun with a big ole comp on the end and had plenty of room. That was my favorite stage of the match, tied for fastest open time, but dropped too many points.
  8. Someone remind me the difference between the shadow and the SP-01 worked over by Angus.
  9. North West, Delta and Contenental seem to be my choices.
  10. Is any one company better than others to fly with? Are there some to avoid? I'm ready to make reservations for the nationals, but I might not want the cheapest if they are a hassle with guns. Thanks.

    9mm major

It's pretty easy, I'm loading a MG 121 with 8 grains of ramshot sil. at 1.185 and still have room to go longer if I needed to.
  12. Federal match 22lr the walmart bulk stuff was about 90% but the fed. match has been 100% so far
  13. With good 22 ammo mine goes off every time with a 15lb main spring.
  14. Angus can do an amazing trigger job on a decocker, then pair that with some worked over springs and it's hard to tell the difference(at least for me). I carry a P-01 decocker and love it. My next SP-01 will be the tactical.
  15. very nice, I know what I'm ordering this week.
  16. I like those, I've been eying up a set of the red since they hit Angus' website.
  17. What color are those grips?
  18. I think for local matches it's a great idea. We have had to do that same thing after last month's match where the first squad used the wrong plate as the stop plate. Now we have the whole post painted red. The people that are serious about shooting steel will not even notice and it helps the others out.
  19. Go for the Blackberry Pearl, the learning curve with the smart type is all of about 5 - 10 minutes. The first two minutes I was fustrated, then someone told me just to type what I wanted and 95% of the time the right word is there at the end. Very easy and quick. My old windows mobile based phone was a big brick, so I wanted something I would acctually carry and the pearl was it.
  20. Anyone notice the engraving on the mag? Great job, love those grips from Gman.
  21. It's all about solving a puzzle on the clock.
  22. Yep, the same here. The letter in the last front sight was about my club, and one of my stages. You had to deposit the teddy bear in the bucket about 10 yards to the left of the starting position before shoting. I had only 1 procedural in the WSB to give people a choice. Do I run it down or toss it on the beep. The internal struggles I saw were worth the price of addmission( I was a sociology major in college). In reality the average Joe will shoot themselves in the foot, because they are so pumped about the advantage they gained. I saw people save the time to run down to the left only to bobble two reloads, shoot the gun dry, run the gun faster than they can see the sights etc. If you have never thrown a stage like this into your match, try it some time. I'm a people watcher and I loved every moment of every shooter going through the stage.
  23. Boo, I know which match you are talking about and I was thinking the same thing. It would not be the MD call. The WSB says it's 1 procedural if not done. So, even gaining a significant advantage you only get 1 no matter how much they moan. If they wanted to make it a per shot it has to be changed in the WSB. Any attempt regardless of how pathetic it may be counts.
  24. I have practiced with it a good bit....Just not shot many matches with it. Having shot L10 for 3 years, it is hard training myself not to reload everytime I move ! I am pretty comfortable with lightening the gun because all of my limited guns are radically light. Everytime I draw this thing, I feel like I am drawing an anchor. My son's open gun is VERY light and I shoot that really well. Problem is that my son won't let me shoot it! So, I am making do with what I have got. That's because it has more than 10 rounds in it.
