NO now wait a moment = Thats how far -Away- form the quarters edge the hits were. My first shot was above the quarter = I checked my spotting scope and I could see it as "high center". So I held just a bit lower , but I did not feel the wind and with out help from a spotter I could not tell the light wind was doing. confirmed the second hit off the right side about 1" out. the third was hard to confirm . But it was next to #2 . The last two shots I stayed on the gun and tried to look hard though my scope. I was disappointed after looking in the spotting scope at the end , But real happy with the best group I ever shot at 500 yards. happy enough to take a photo. I Love that Vortex glass. The Rule is one chance per week , I stayed true but really wanted that second chance.

Good match, and lots of good smiling faces. That long target was at 836 yards . I think an 800 yard hold would put my bullet 16" low. I was very glad to get some help from my Team mate on the ranges. This was my very first match to shoot a bolt gun in it, and I learned plenty. Thanks to the help from my friends. The match was kept on the small side , but the challenge was on the Big side. I will make time when they schedule the next event.

Failed my 2nd attempt. all five shots missed, But the farthest miss was 1-3/8" high and the closest miss was just 3/8" off the edge. Next week I will make my 3rd try.

I -used to have the 18" medium contour and Now I have the 18" Lt contour CTR upper 15 hand guard. = I love it. the Lt barrel gives me good groups even at 500 yards. I was one of the few that did not care how much the barrel weighed in at. But Now I am loving the Lt barrel from JP The CTR in mounted on top of a JP15 lower just because I have not spent the cash yet on the CTR lower. OH yes the Captured spring is a must have. Keep in mind If you have a JP CTR - your going to have the set-up that every one Else wants to get close to.

I just got finished with Tier One Wild I like Dalton's writing very much. I even had to jot down a few quotes for later use. Like "Effort takes no talent" = I think that describes me. He does a good job of drawing you into the story. and makes all of it believable. He is at the top of my writers list.

It seams like just a year or two ago. But I have been married since 1987 to a woman that used to have more first place trophies than I did. Any way I dated competitively for several years,,, before I meet her. before I meet my wife I asked my self this question years ago. Why waste any time on girl/ woman that you cant be open with? your ether spending time or your wasting time. That can be included to your shooting . Do you spend your time or do you waist your time ? you cant buy one second of your time back at any price = spend it wisely.

its running great now, just got finished with the repair - a new rebuilt Bosch by M&D $350.00 dang the budget. after I got all the injectors wired back up again all six tested out at 0.7-0.6 ohms I think possibly the motor is just a bit quieter too.

I think Its going to be a long wait on a new reticle, As far as going from Mill to Min nothing to be confusing can happen - Its a "Look And Shoot" reticle If you can see /hold on the target at 600 yards your going to have a drop that puts you with in 1 min. If you have ammo that you like for 500 and 600 yards its going to reward you . As all I have to do to hold to the side of the target for wind. As a example. I had a zero with 75 gr bullets at 2750 , I switched back to my favorite load of 69 gr bullets that Old crono results put them at 2800+ with out rechecking zero or crono shooting on of my other gun from my spot at 500+ yards juts to check the new lot of amoe for group I got my JP with 1-6 on it and shot at a clean target at 510 yards. I wanted to see what kind of group I could get switching guns from my custom 700 with a Jewel trigger and the 5-20 Razor and the bipod and bags to grabbing my JP with 1-6 Razor and just a front sand bag. Well I got one of my best groups 4" but it was 9" low on the 510 yard target with a five shot group. That was only a 1" larger than my group with the 700 and full rest. This new 1-6 is ether making me Very Lucky or very good, buy my previous standards. The more the VORTEX FEVER I get the hotter I am.

I used 4,000 srp in my AR to 99.99% , I think I had two that did not work . But I just got 7,000 Tula SPP and in my STI custom I am getting 40% failure. I am not happy about that. and I don't have a hammer spring with any more power in it. The gun passes the pencil test by about 2 feet high.

I only hit the quarter one time , but I had one on top of another. I taped the quarter under the duct tape between the two targets and thin I taped a quarter over the top of the first one so it would show up in a photo what my idea was . I did not know that I would get that lucky and do it on my first try. The air was cool and clear only about 1moa of variable wind I did my wind sight in on the lower target in the photo and checked the spotting scope twice durring the (Five Shot run) for the quarter I am certain that I hit it with the forth shot as I picked up some splater in my scope after the bullet hit. I had to hold part way in to the right side target to compensate for the wind drift. This is the paper target after the quarters blew out the back, I found them after I had allready pulled the paper down. the quarter that was in front had a smaller hole than the one dehind it. lucky is what it was, now I have to do the second time

So I have gotten my 260 loads tuned up and learning the game. I keep remembering a challenge game of a one shot chance at hitting a 50 cent piece. = one chance any one day I was thinking - one shot- I am more of a five shot kinda guy. so I thing make up my own "Challenge Game" = Set up any target sight in you want but when your ready for only one chance a week you tape a 25cent piece to your target set. do any sight in you want to check the wind . = But when you diecide to take the five shot challenge thats it = you want to hit your 25cent piece from 500 yards. I taped over the 25 cent piece between two targets and thin so I could see it I used double sided tape and put it over the first = two stacked 25 cent pieces. I got real good or real lucky and found that a 260 will blow rite through two quarters from 500 yards

Well my faithful Dodge truck is giving me some problems. It did a great job just a few weeks ago pulling my 32ft 5thwheel a thousand miles with a nice purr. like a light switch going the motor cut and I got Injector short codes on my Edge tuner. = the truck went to rough powered cut. any way I had it towed home and I am not willing to take it to the dealer to "learn' on. I read on the Cummings Forums that rebuilt injectors all 'Never' long lasting. Any one have good feedback on rebuilt injectors for a Cummings ? I think my problem is a short in the harness , just have not traced it down in the light yet. $2,000 for parts is not my idea of a fun way to spend cash.

Well we had a bit of a party at the range today with a Pies table = big Apple pies and Pecan pies for all. My wife has helped me host a club match for 20 years now, over the years it included several Sportsman's Team Challenge regional events. I am handing the lead off to some new blood to keep the club going and give me more time to make big three gun events out of town. Looking back 20 years I made lots of friends , but its good to think about a break. Jamie

the regular station is too close to the primer tube for the Hornady to fit.

I don't know any thing about the RCBS bullet feeder. But I do use a Hornady powder measure on my 1050 for 223. It does not fit in the normal 1050 powder location so I moved it to the next station. The only problem I have had is -When- I get a distraction during the loading , and I reach to put a bullet on the case for seating . three times now I put the bullet on the case mouth at the powder drop location. That jambs up the powder measure, but if you don't notice it rite away three or four cases will not have powder in them and the powder measure locks up jambed with powder. Thin some of cases missing powder is mixed in the bin with your finished rounds and you have to figure out what once are missing powder. Unlocking the powder measure is messy too. But I make even my long range 223 rounds on the 1050 getting groups just over 1MOA at 500 yards with 69 gr Sierra and Varget. I don't think the Dillon powder measure can handle Varget

If I can learn Mils , any one can. I think the Mills have perfect logic when you want to find the distance to something past 500 yards. I found that using the mills was not that hard to get my head around when I thought in yards and fraction of yards.

You cant just cut out some cardboard targets with a razor knife ? or even print out some on a printer for 1/2 size. The 1/2 size uspsa target is popular for a reduced size it is 9"x15" reduced to 8.5x11 paper would work fine
