In order to pass the USPSA multi-gun RO test I had to look at 5 FIVE different sources. The Rule bookS are on disc. I personally have not seen a written Multi Gun USPSA hard copy Rule book

What open is really about is optics and muzzle brakes and speed loaders/mag fed shotguns. We don't limit the rifle capacity in tac optics or limited so why with the shotgun. (at least you could argue that) I say it ain't broke don't fix it. Pat But we do have limits on handgun capacity. (Every match I'm aware of has 140mm or something similar for Tactical). thats a limit in Size - not capacity less than 2" past the end of the barrel would be a reasonable rule. even though I dislike any thing that smells of a rule change

Its the Shooter that DQs the RO only provides the witness. In the case of a 180 violation it should be called at the instant it happens Not after the shooter finishes the stage. I can not think of any action on the ROs part that causes a shooter to DQ. When I decide to pick up a timer or score pad I will do it to the best of my ability or I will not do it. It must be fair for every one or its not a fair match. its not Fun when the shooters can see someone get away with rule & safety violations to make that one shooter happy.

No one want rifle loading instruction from me. But I do get as good of accuracy out of the same powder that I load my 55 with as my 69 bullets. I like that the powder does not look the same. I can say its a good Idea to have All your pistol powder to look different than you rifle powder. allot different Oh a cool thing is to add-just the speed and sighting distance on your 55 bullets with your 69 gr bullets so that they hit close to the same place at 200 + 300 yards so that your hold over is close to the same. just in case you want to use your 69 bullets on a heavy target at 250 yards. I can use the same hold of 400 yards with my 55 as I do with my 69s

And that is why Match Directors have to be crazy to keep hosting events. I don't think the inconsistency is ever an event plan The 140mm OAL for handgun mags has worked just fine, An Ro or Match director has never had to try and stuff rounds in a shooters mag to find out how many they hold.

I have both and I like both, But I like the 24" the most, and old 3gun rule that many events had was a 22" limit, most dropped the rule.

A rule that can not or will not be enforced is a useless rule. IF the tube capacity is limited = it will have to be tested like non penetrating rifle rounds have to be tested. This past CMMG had some stages that the shooter may want to run 3" shells over 2 1/2" shells a shotgun tube that holds 8 2.5" shell limit will not hold 8 3" shells some tube that only hold 8 2.5" shot-shell will not hold 8 2.5" slugs with out an extended cap. An Old rule of 22" or under for AOL barrel mag was in place in some rules, when I started to buy equipment for 3gun But it was very difficult at the time to find a barrel under 24". My knee jerk reaction to any rule add or change that limits equipment is NO I could see that I would not not want some-one to shoot my steel with a 3.5" shot shell, but I am not in favor of a rule to ban them.

Thanks for all the work that so many put in to make the match happen. The target painting crew was a home run. I liked all the stages and all the scoring, I don't much care for that much shooting off a platform though, but I understand why with the rain history. I pick the wrong match & wrong time to run a test on changing my shooting style. The old me would have done much better. It's cool that matches do not try and copy each other and I enjoy the differences. I really like the shoot - no-shoot target sets. It would have been cool to see a ( handgun shotgun ) first gun option for stage #1 I liked the game at the end, But with the fast pace I did not get to hear the scores for the teams. It would be real nice to hear how every team placed. It can't be a game with out a score. I did not like the metal frame on metal targets that added dark shadows. I like an alternating division winner / prize table Call-up better I dislike soft foot fault areas. Thanks for a good match that sent us home with satisfaction. Jamie Foote
