  1. At least he had a good backstop...lol (sarcasm)
  2. I didnt do it, its a deep bluing that Dan put on it.
  3. The fired brass contains lead from the primers, not a good thing to have in the dishwasher
  4. Dan, sorry to hear of your loss. Even though we have kids, our dogs are still a very HUGE part of our family. My heart goes out for ya.
  5. I used to shoot with a guy that was a swat officer for the adjoining county and his issue weapon was an STI in .40. I can think of huge adantages of carrying a gun with 18-20 rounds.
  6. I use pretty much the exact same load in my 5.5 inch super blackhawk, except that my bullet is a lead SWC. Not for the faint of heart! No pressure signs, but it kicks like the dickens! I chronoed this load with Chris Keen and I couldnt get him to touch one off...lol He shot the work up loads but not this one. If I remember correctly, he even moved back 20 steps..
  7. This is my deer hunting load and its pretty stout. I have not experienced any signs of high pressure and I really dont want to push my luck. IMO, 1350 fps with a 240 grain bullet through a 5 1/2 barrel isnt too shabby. Gun used.......Ruger Super Blackhawk 5 1/2 barrel Cases...........Winchester Primer...........Winchester LR Powder......... 25 grains Hogden H110 Bullet...........Hornady 240 grain XTP Velocity...... 1350 fps Energy....... 1000 Foot lbs.
  8. I dont know where to get them at but my JP comp came with a PEEL washer. You peel a .001 piece from the washer and screw the comp back on. You keep doing this until you get it clocked and then locktite it on there. The peel washer is made of compressed shims that make it apear as if its a solid washer.
  9. How many times have we told you to stop smokin that stuff!?!?!?
  10. yeah, I made the mistake of passing out drunk one new years eve. No need to give details

    Pit Bull Attack

Im glad your father was ok! My daughter was attacked 2 years ago, the day after Christmas and that ended with 200 stitches in her face. It was a mut that weighed maybe 34 lbs. belonging to an aquaintance. When we walk our own dogs, we carry and once I had to pull my gun on a Pitbull that was running loose. It charged us but stopped 4 feet short, I drew my gun and we walked backwards across the street and then vigilantly continued our walk. I own big dogs (shorthair pointer and irish setter) and would never allow them to roam free. When someone comes over, I even lock them up to avoid any possible problems.
  12. I just picked up a cheap 870 as well but with a 28" barrel that I would like to cut down to 20-21 inches. Can someone tell me or PM me a cost of what it might run to cut the length, re-thread it for chokes, taper the forcing cone and backbore it?
  13. That thing looks HOOOOT! Does she realize its a solo seat?...lol Oh thats right, you wont have time to ride it .
  14. You have more cow here ............ than you do HERE! Todd, you sure that's yours ??? It still has the Fiber Optic in it If you would have come out to shoot last night , you would have seen I put a new fiber in it but used sightblack to paint over it. So far its working well for me and I think Im going to have a plain black sight put in the new singlestack.
  15. I guess I'll find out when it comes in.
  16. Isnt it possible to just mill the housing length down a bit? I dont have mine yet but I plan to put a S&A magwell on it. I have access to a Brigeport. I think its like bonding with your gun when you get to "tweak" on it some..lol
  17. Maybe I overlooked it but I cant seem to find anything defining magazine release rules. Can I put an oversized button or "paddle" on my SS?
  18. I got weak today and ordered a Spartan Brazo's says that more wont be in till late Febuary-mid March . I guess that will give me time to aquire some gear for it.
  19. Good to hear that you love USPSA............Has nothing to do with topic at hand. IDPA rules call for penalties for bullets passing thru targets and hitting non-threat targets. In USPSA, targets are considered non-penetrable. Two different sports, two different sets of rules............ Humor intended in post, not pursecution...
