  1. So what your saying is that its the jerk thats on the trigger that makes the gun shoot straight?
  2. Its possible that your inadvertantly engaging the slide release (lock) with your thumb while your shooting it.
  3. STI sent me a new Dawson front sight that was .180 (factory was .173) and it still shot high. I called Chris back and he is shipping me out a .200 to try. The front dovetail will not allow another sight to easily slip in. You must fit the sight to the gun. At first I thought the rear sight was not milled low enough into the slide but after more thought and having to remove material from the bottom of the front sight blade, I think they milled the front sight to low. The gun does shoot some incredibly tight groups though and im very anxious to get my sights situated and tune in some handloads.. (PS. front sights are RED locktited in from the factory) As Flex said, I did install an S&A magwell on my gun and it fits really good with just a scant bit of light between the frame and magwell. I will try to get some pics up tonight. I believe the mainspring I intsalled is a 17 lb. and I did tweak the sear spring just a bit. Its not a $200.00 trigger job but its definately acceptable and I really dont want less than a 3 lb. trigger on this gun because it may see some use on my hip, away from matches. Tungston guide rods are not single stack legal from what I have read so mine will remain stock. I did however swap to a 14 lb. recoil spring, shock buffs are on the way.

  5. Besides, no one likes a quitter . You and her may have alot in common but we are all glad your not wearing a skirt to shoot in!
  6. I have a coffee can full of ammo that is mixed with magor and minor .40 because at some point, it just got mixed up in the storage boxes. Pretty odd going to the range and getting BANG..POP..POP...POP...BANG I have some of those spring bags too...
  7. I would go and listen to what they have to say. See what they offer and see how badly they would like to give you a shot. It never hurts to see whats out there for you and you may end up better off there than where you are now. You sound like you dont like change and that shows stability but dont walk away from something withouth at least knowing what your walking away from.
  8. lol.. Reminds me of a couple of years ago when my neighbor had his house window shot out by a BB gun. I told him to call the cops and say there had been a drive-by shooting. Technicaly it was the truth..
  9. VV320 is almost idetical to Tightgroup in burn rate, is VERY clean and in my experience, is not affected by temperature changes.
  10. I think I have finally unraveled the mystery of the all blue gear. When its left at a match, its self identifying...lol.
  11. TCK, just curious, how long have yours been on order? I placed the order on Sunday March 18th
  12. Bummer, but at least he's good enough of a businessman that he keeps his customers informed. I completely agree and will be contacting them for my next order. Right now though Im going to have to go elsewhere, I cant wait any longer.
  13. I just got an email saying 4 week backorder!
  14. I wasnt to sure about it so i had to eat 2 bowls good stuff!
  15. I have ordered from them 2 times and was very happy but if you look up their customer feedback, its some of the worst I have seen. I guess its hit and miss.
  16. SHOOT OPEN! You think I could kee the mags in an open gun if I cant keep them in my limited gun?...lol I tried to imrove my grip, thats how I hit the release. I remember someone saying not to change anything before a match.. Now who was that?
  17. This was a great match and the weather wasnt ALL that bad. Thanks Flex for putting on a great match. Could have done without the 8 foot deep mud on the one stage but hey, overcome and adapt right? Now if I can just keep the mags in my gun! Classifier stage I hit my mag release, not once, but twice, Dang it! The one other stage I fired 4 rounds with my toes touching outside the foot fault, DOAH! Other than that, I felt I did pretty well.
  18. I carry a $2.00 throw away poncho in my rangebag that is folded into a package the size of a deck of cards..emergency.. I also carry a folded up heavy garbage bag to keep my range bag covered. If I know its going to rain, I throw a bag over my gun and take a breathable rain jacket and ball cap, along with a golf umbrella. Wipe the gun AND mags down with a dry towel and then a silicone gun rag after the match.
  19. I have smaller hands and prefer the ICE magwell so that it DOES push my hands up for a higher grip. I do have an undercut trigger gaurd though so I dont really feel overly crowded there.
  20. Heres mine, I opted to go with a pump, its rifle sighted but has screw in chokes. I may convert my 11-87 over too, working on other projects right now though
  21. Hey Bender... where are the safety glasses? He wears HARD contacts
