  1. should be 7 stages saturday, 3 on sunday. at least that's what i was told in an earlier post on this thread.
  2. There is no reason you can't be competitive with your beretta. You have to practice the transition from double action to single action. Glocks have one pull and they are easy to work on. Throw a D spring in the beretta to help with the double action pull and practice. Now having said that, I use a CZ with a trigger job done by cz custom. It also has a DA/SA trigger but its a whole lot easier to shoot than my bone stock 92FS. I shot a glock for years but i did trigger work to that one too. Swithced to a cz because it fits my hands better. I say shoot whats comfortable for you.

    New Shadows (Weight?)

Ah, well that does help. Thanks.

    New Shadows (Weight?)

Cz custom lists the full dustcover shadow at 2.6 pounds. Doesn't say if the mag is included. However, they list the new short dustcover shadow with an empty 18 round mag at 2.7 pounds. Doesn't make sense. Has anyone weighed the new short dustcover shadow? I would think it weighs a good bit less than the full dustcover.
  5. It looks like this is a two day format, shooting both Saturday and Sunday. Any idea how many stages on each day?
  6. Screaming an obscenity while shooting a course of fire is unacceptable. I understand that. However, dictating what people can and can't say while conversing with their peers on the range is ridiculous. If the entire squad can hear the language then one should lower their voice. If someone walks by and hears a word they object to then that person should keep walking. Just my 2cents.

    Shadow

    Justaute beat me to it.
  8. I will give it a shot however I'm a little worried with the Coen brothers directing. I like their work but I hope they don't take too many liberties with the original's plot.
  9. I really don't care what Eric Graufel will do this year, next year or any other year. He's not here. I'm interested in the competitors at the nationals.
  10. Yea, those are two good ones. My top 2 are Mercury and Cypress Grove: ! Ah yes, Cypress Grove. That is a sweet tune. The only reason I became interested in them was after hearing the song Electric Worry on a video game commercial. "Bang Bang Bang Bang, vámonos vámonos"
  11. Blast Tyrant is an awesome album. Subtle Hustle and La Curandera being my favorite songs on it. I like some of the stuff on Pure Rock Fury as well.

    Is this legal

I had a SA converted to DA/SA and carried around that vary note from Amidon. I didn't feel comfortable with it outside of local matches so I sold it and purchased a shadow. For me, it came down to the approved production list. It wasn't worth arguing with match directors.
  13. I'd kind of like to know how the targets were started and if any of the arms swung at a different speed. It looked to me like two of the plates for Jim, the red/blue combo that he hit, were swinging together at the same speed. It didn't look Jim would have had a chance to shoot it clean as the blue plate would have stayed behind the red.. Maybe that was just stock footage set up to show us the shot though. I felt the same way. From the viewers point of view, Jim was screwed by equipment failure. I was screaming for a re-shoot.
  14. i don't have a phantom but i do have 3 cz's. I got all my info on detail stripping from czforum.com.
  15. If its an FS, then no. I've heard of guys boring out the front sight and putting fiber in it. Beretta Elites and the 90-two have removable front sights. I did see that they are bringing out a new 92 this year that has a removable front sight and a light rail.
  16. philg80 had a sweet open SP01. I would definitely pick his brain.
  17. There was some chat about this topic in the cz area. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=98865
  18. Nice. Hopefully the girls will stick with it.
  19. As others have stated, you can't handle ammo in the safe area. Loaded mags on your belt or in your bag does not break a rule unless you handle the loaded mag or handle the ammo in your bag.
  20. I agree. I doubt i would have bought the new magwell if i didn't have a few 18 rounders sitting around from a shadow purchase. I tried buying the old style magwell but angus doesn't offer them anymore and i couldn't find one for sale in the states. CZ-UB has them but shipping is 85 bucks and i'm not sure what the export rule is on a magwell. I doubt its a problem but they didn't respond to my email when i asked. In the video he mentions the 18 rounders and the 10 rounder with an extended basepad. Is the 10 rounder longer than the 16?
  21. The tube is too short. It isn't long enough to engage the magazine catch with the magwell on it. I would shoot Rob at czcustom an email. I will put it in the bag in case you show up saturday.
