  1. I can't give you measurements, but I went with the medium length. Screwed all the way in was way to short for me.
  2. just wanted to follow up - ended up ordering another 141mm mag instead of a 155. I'll be shooting Limited still as well and decided to keep everything consistent. the extra 2-3 rounds reloadable with a 155 will not be a game changer to me.
  3. Have you used the 155 yet? How does it load compared to the 140? I really think what's holding me up is that I practice with 2 mag sizes, 140 and 170. Adding the 155 I'm not sure how much adjustment it will take to make a smooth transition.
  4. I've always loved the STI Trojans for the price point. The finish isnt that great but I like holster wear.
  5. If it reloads easy like a 140 then I'm more apt to giving it a shot. I like the idea that it allows me 3 extra rounds to give me a bit more options for a reload in the cof.
  6. I'm with ya, I want one more mag as a back up. Where are the dang mbx sponsored shooters who can talk to us about these life altering decisions.
  7. Everytime I say buy the 155 I hear mental thoughts of why would I. MBX needs a rental program, haha. 7 day rental, to try it out and see if it's worth converting. I could see if you don't have any mags then buying 155s and 170 could make sense. But when you shoot other divisions just as often then keeping with the 140s makes it easiest. I dont know, I just don't know.
  8. you need to file either the grip opening or the trigger shoe down to fit it.
  9. I currently have no issues loading to a 170 if a stage has me starting with a 140. I'm just not sure if the 155 will fill the need to load to instead of the 170 or not. If it doesn't, I'm affraid I'd end up never using the dang thing and its a waste of money.
  10. I'm going to order 1 more mag for open, but I'm stuck if I want to try a 155 or stay with the 140. Thinking a 155 as an alternate starting mag instead of a 170.
  11. Is your recoil to harsh on the lift up? Or do the sights dip low when the slide closes? I'd look to add a heavy magwell, change your recoil spring to something lighter and try to film your gun from the side when shooting to see what it is doing. A nitrofin thumb rest may help you as well. Potentially looking at how you grip on the gun can also be a factor.
  12. Considering that is below everyone else's price of $499. I'd venture that price won't be around as I'll guess it's below MAP and leupold would tell them to fix it.
  13. Any belt work, I use DAA for all of mine as I bought one and just kept using them. Cr speed are a good option if you want bullets forward. I used safariland 771 and use Comptac for single stack with Velcro behind the mount to keep them from moving. For basepads, I see shockbottle used quite frquently.
  14. I'm not familiar with off the shelf 2011 ldc with bushing. However I've been told people call STI and ask for an eagle with a bull barrel. So you could probably request a bushing edge. Not sure what the wait time would be.
  15. You can build them with a bushing. I believe Les baer sells a 1911 model with long dust cover and bushing.
  16. If it's tight but spins freely then I wouldn't touch it. Ive built 3 guns now with nitrofins and the size has been good to go on all of them. Egw and Ck arms links.
  17. Yes binary titanium comp. no haven't fired yet as the barrel and comp haven't been reamed.
  18. I'll just leave this here, haven't shot it yet but I can tell you I won't go back to plastic after this build. All the weight in this gun is in the grip/stainless magwell, titanium comp and points like a 9minor steel challenge gun.
  19. I'm thinking the same thing. Relieve the shoulder a tad just to give some extra lock up.
  20. I'll fit mine up later this afternoon but here is a photo of a dawson standard mag release installed (not fitted). Both STI and MBX mags that I have lock securely. Both currently only need the mag release to be depressed 1/8in or slightly more to drop the mag. I'll probably file back the mag button to all more contact. As for STI triggers, my stock one has some play in it. I have an X-line trigger Vario trigger at the shop I'm planning to use and will see how that all fits as well.
  21. I just got my grip in. The beavertail will need to be hand filed a bit on the sides to fit the grip. Tomorrow I'll be in the shop to see how it fits on my CK arms frame.
  22. Any idea what the issue is on the TTI guts in the tubes? I know a few people are running them so I'm curious about it Mbx Tube I have is 40sw. I'm need more mags in 38sc for open. hence why I'm willing to trade as I've had the tube and can't exactly return it.
  23. either go with Grams springs and followers or use Taran Tactical TTI.
  24. I'd buy a used edge package with mags from someone on here that you know will run and will be ready to go for you. Then run a safariland universal gls (size: long) locking holster and some pouches and go kick ass.
