  1. its bright in the dim lighting they use, how about at Noon on a bright and sunny day?
  2. I run all my holsters in the same position. Open, Limited, SS, Prod, non-competition work, etc. Draw times are all fast and repeatable. I tried limited/open in a more forward position as I used to see people do this and found I disliked it. Every draw for me with the exception of appendix is the same draw.
  3. Except MBX does not need a spacer, which is their big selling point to me. So if STI has redesigned their body, did they do the same or did the side rail just change? That is where I was going with that. I shoot 38 anyway, but if I wanted to change to 9, using MBX mags I don't need to do anything differently.
  4. This is one of those items that I want, but don't need as my racemaster is perfectly fine. My only gripe is the arm that hangs down for the height adjustment can dig into my leg at times, which this would fix.
  5. Last night I decided to play around with my MBX 40sw 141mm mag. I have an extra body laying around and was curious about trying STI body base pads and different guts in them. I've searched and not found anyone's info about running other guts/pads. Just an old post about Taran giving people guts to fix their mbx problems. MBX with mbx basepad and guts - 21 rounds not reloadable, 20 reloadable with grams guts 11coil spring and trimmed slide lock and TTI basepad - 20 rounds reloadable ish. It has half a round of movement but I'd rather run 19 knowing it locks easily. No way to fit 21. with STI guts 11coil spring and trimmed slide lock and TTI basepad - 19 rounds anyone have TTI guts in theirs and can report? The TTI basepad seems to have a decent amount of forward tilt though when mounted, not sure what causes this to happen. Dawson pads wont fit unless you trim some of the forward section of the wing that grabs on to the basepads. The wings on MBX bodies cover more of the body than STI. With the TTI basepad on MBX compared in height to the STI with Dawson pads are noticeably shorter in height. Compared to my usual - STI Body with TTI basepad with grams guts 11coil spring and trimmed slide lock- 20 rounds reloadable ish- just like the MBX body. No way to fit 21. Also, if someone wants to trade a new 40sw MBX body for 38/9 MBX body I will. It's just laying around here and I'm shooting open now.
  6. Ben Stoeger posted this on instagram a while back and I asked about them but did not get a response. Did not see any comments online on any forum so it made me think it was a joke post. I'm wondering if I need to call shooters connection and find out of the mag bodies when I order are the new style or not. Wonder if the 9mm will need a spacer still??? I don't understand how STI has not done any promo work about the new bodies!? as a marketer, this actually boggles my mind and could swing people away from buying MBX with the new design and bullet count holes drilled.
  7. I have the thumb screw tightening racemaster and have an EVO grip on order. How much filing do you reckon I'll have to do to fit it? Is the PT frame just thicker?
  8. Maybe Gary ganns at ganns guns can help you out. Send him an email he responds quickly.
  9. Who does the rainbow DLC coating?
  10. Romeo 3 on a Brazos Slipstream RTS2 mount. Not screwed down so slight gap showing. Anyone wanting to build a mount for this just needs to literally extend the front.
  11. nice job and nice improvement over the shot span of shooting. started following you on instagram as well.
  12. Take it slow on the dry fire. Bring the gun up and see the dot. Then bring the gun back to a high ready and repeat until you find the dot over and over. Then move on to bring it up from a draw and lastly work up to full speed.
  13. Only thing I could think of by seeing that single stage is the guy in 1st may have sights on target faster?
  14. I chose 38 purely because it's the cheaper of major ammo from Atlanta arms over 9major.
  15. Interesting, myself and a buddy run 773 for glocks and don't have any tightness issues. Id heat them up with the tension screws out, stick your mag in and wiggle the mag back and forth to open it up.
  16. As an athlete and a coach, the first step in becoming better is seeing and recognizing the faults! Which means you know what to improve on.
  17. Did you cerakote the rails and inside the slide or did you leave it bare?
  18. I didn't think mbx parts work outside of mbx tubes. Other option is run Grams springs and followers with TTI pads or Dawson pads.
  19. You could wait for the X holster to come out unless you need something now. Another option for a standard holster is the GLS safariland holster (long model). It fits a vast array of guns and has a trigger locking block that you need to trim the release handle down shorter so the 2011 grip doesn't contact it.
  20. I agree, 2011 as numerous people at a match can help you if a problem arises. Rarely see CZ open guns at local matches.
  21. Sounds good! Had I known I wanted to order the evo 4 months ago I would have just bought a PT frame to match......
  22. I think they do, they all make them to a degree of what is needed to fit a vast majority of parts. Plastic grips fit on them all with slight differences in tightness. Interesting, I never asked them when I ordered, just assumed they won't cover it when I put a file to it.
  23. I was originally planning to work the frame, but when looking at how to run file strokes, I'm now thinking I'll just work the grip and go slow and not screw up the $650 item. I'm going to double undercut and DLC the grip anyway so the warranty is void at that point. Adam, random thinking and since you have way more experience with metal grips- Best guess at how would these grips & frames handle/last if you milled down for a loose fit and then utilized a rubber/silicone spacer between the two? I understand a decent gap needs to be created to then fill the void properly, but it has me wondering absorption.
  24. Some Dykum blue/ sharpie and slowly work it down off the frame. I'll measure mine and see where I'm at when the grip shows up.
