    Chaos 2

Looks like they're up on the website now: https://atlasgunworks.com/product-category/chaos-2.0?utm_source=AGW+Website&utm_campaign=8fe7327a23-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_11_14_04_51_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_39dfc88611-8fe7327a23-116744943&mc_cid=8fe7327a23&mc_eid=c61947abe2 Yikes - pretty close to Infinity prices. I do like that new grip they came up with though.
  2. Had an email exchange with Saul from DAA. He said upside down cases weren't something he's had any complaints about and offered up a few tips - Make sure it's sitting flush, watch the speed as faster could cause some issues and don't have too many cases in the hopper, or that could potentially cause issues. When I mentioned that number three wasn't a problem because the variable speed motor was junk and it couldn't move the volume he mentioned he seemed surprised. I think mine likes the 300 mark but who knows. I'm not hung up on that anyway, I just toss some in every couple of hundred. I emptied the bowl and removed the plate. I found it was a little sticky from case lube...I may be a little heavy handed with it sometimes. I wiped the bowl out and then washed the feed plate. Reinstalled everything and ran about 1K cases through without issue. My guess is that the case lube may have been gumming up the works or that there was a piece of debris somewhere that I removed. I will say, I saw nothing obvious aside from a few nibs of corn cob. I guess it's also possible the case lube is the reason I can't put many more than 300 in the feeder. I'm going to test that and confirm as well.
  3. Oddly, the 650 case feeder is the old style motor, but new style all plastic bin and it worked fine. I'll try messing with the wedge, in the meantime I've also submitted a request with DAA for their feedback as well.
  4. I recently purchased a Dillon 1100, so I moved the DAA case feed plate from my 650 to the 1100 case feeder. Now every so often I get an upside down case. Never happened with the 650 and I set it up exactly the same way. Thoughts?? Anyone else have this happen? Variable speed setting is relatively low, and never really above half way. Also, not a fan of the variable speed case feeder, it can't really handle many cases.
  5. I missed that, and didn't realize the standard one from EC accepted all calibers. I almost specifically load 9mm, with some 223 thrown in a couple of times a year, so my plan was to use the 9mm specific one then just use the standard Dillon for 223 since it won't see all that much use anyway. Good to know on the EC one though...can't believe I didn't pick up on that when I was looking. I see why now. The pictures they posted only show the caliber specific ones with the case feed tube inserted. I guess I should have paid better attention to the descriptions. I haven't had my press long, only a couple of weeks. I would have thought the weak point in the case feed adapter was the case specific insert. I had to tape mine because it flops all over the place.
  6. I just purchased a similar one from Range Panda. It should be here today, so I don't have any feedback for you, but the one from RP comes with a case feed stop built in for $5 more if you decide to buy one, otherwise they seem alike. (not affiliated, just think for $5 it's worth it) https://rangepanda.com/collections/dillon-1050/products/rpg2-1050-1100-case-feed-housing-with-case-stop
  7. I use a nexbelt for EDC and IDPA. It has a ratchet system built in and an inner core. Very nice belts. https://www.nexbelt.com/
  8. I tried the original dillon set up, but had the wobbly bullet issue. So their swage hold/case expansion was not enough to set a 125 grain .356 blue bullet from the MBF to the seating die without the bullets tipping. I then tried the Lyman M die in the swage station not the Redding (so there may be a difference), along with the belling only powder drop funnel. What I found was that the Lyman M die was overworking the brass. I had to run it so low as to avoid wobbly bullets from the MBF to the seating die, that there was expansion below bullet seating depth. Interestingly this did not cause any bullet setback, but I didn't care for it and suspect it could cause some problems down the road. I then purchased a Lyman hold down die along with these two powder funnels: https://uniquetek.com/product/T1736 https://uniquetek.com/product/T1582 The second one is pretty much a direct match for the MBF funnel. I will say though, I was a tad disappointed in the lack of polished finish on both. So I did have to polish them. So the Lyman hold down in the swage station, and the first of the two Uniquitek funnels noted above did not yield the results I was trying to achieve. Still wobbly bullets. Not much sticking though. Ultimately, I've landed on the second funnel from Uniquetek and the Lyman hold down die. This has given me pretty much everything - solid bullet seating so no wobbling or tipping from MBF to seat, and very minimal case sticking, as in not all of them but a few out of say 100. I currently have the F&F brass expander/hold down rod on the way. I'm going to test that as well and see how it works with the stock powder drop that ships with the 1100. https://fastandfriendlybrass.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=85
  9. Same, I think I bought a 2 pack though for like $15 a couple of years ago. Mounts perfectly to the 1100 case feed mounting pole for a clear view after the powder drop. I use the other one on my 650 in the same functional location.
  10. Keep us posted. I'm interested in how it works out.
  11. I couldn't believe how cheesy my 650 felt after loading on the 1100. I was really surprised by how much smoother and beefier the 1100 is. That's not to say the 650 isn't good, I love it and if I'd never touched an 1100 I wouldn't have known any better. Now I want to know if I'm missing out by not having gotten the Apex 10. I was scared off by folks having primer feed issues and the sometimes spotty level of service that's been reported. But still...
  12. I ended up doing it. One screw to take off the frame mounted parts, and the ratchet from the tool head. Super smooth!
  13. Yeah, that's where I was reading about it. You and ddc...the same guys responding to me here. That's a good point about less crap to collect crap. I guess I'll do both. I did add washers to mimic the thickness of ratchet as well. I saw that in the other thread and figured I'd do the same. Thanks guys!!
  14. So, a little thread resurrection since this seems to be the most pertinent place to put this. I just received and installed my 1100. I decided to remove the ratchet to make it more like my 650. I've seen several posts about this process and I'm a bit confused. All I did was remove the ratcheting mechanism from the tool head and it no longer ratchets. I've seen posts saying that the coinciding parts on the press are to be removed as well. Is there a reason for this? I'll also add, that using the 1100 then going back to the 650 was a bit of a surprise. It's much beefier in operation and build quality. I've obviously seen folks make those same comments, but experiencing it was a little eye opening.
  15. How's the new tool head working out? I'm not sold on Aluminum or the quick change. I would assume they went with the quick change because they're using aluminum.
  16. I just got some 135 grain blues. 5.9 grains of CFE to make 168-170. I actually like it. My buddy told me he didn't care for the 135's but I don't mind them at all. Not sure if I'll switch from 124's as I haven't done any real practice or training with the 135's, but shooting them for chrono purposes I really liked how they shot.
  17. Thanks Boom. What is the issue that you're having with the primer seating? Are they just not going in or are they flipped or something else?
  18. I'm seeing more and more crimped primers in my 9mm range brass. Are you guys that are using the flaring die in the swage station comfortable that it's enough to properly swage a 9mm case while using that die or are most of you using a two pass process? I've ordered the uniquetek powder drop and the lyman M die. On my 650, I get case stickage on the powder funnel even when lubing. It happens with the Dillon, the MBF and the Shooting Sports Innovation droppers. Actually, I found the SSI dropper to be a real pain the butt because it sticks into the powder assembly. It's just narrow enough that it will hang up in the assembly at the top.
  19. Can you use the same shell plate for 9mm and 223 with the Apex?
  20. I should also add that my guns were built between 2018 and 2020.
  21. Yes, all three of my open guns ran/run without a hitch using standard MBX mags...no feeding issues, no extraction issues, no stove piping. That's crazy, all of my guns were built in 4-6 months, which includes time at engraving and coating. I would contact him again, if he failed to get back in touch, I would assume it was an oversight.
