  1. Have you hit the break even point yet? In terms of $ invested vs $ saved?
  2. I do a complete strip down and clean once a year. Between deep cleanings I blast out the frame w carb cleaner, and then a few squirts of rem oil. The barrel and slide get carb cleaner and wiped out. Patches down the barrel. Then I use a small dab of grease on the rails and some mobile one on everything else. The only reason I use the rem oil is to protect the deep stuff in the frame. Carb cleaner is very useful for gettin down into the trigger and sear/disconnecter parts without dissassembly.
  3. Why the need for a new follower? My stock one has seen over 500 Rds of ammo through my +6 tube without a single hiccup. It's been great!!
  4. We use my as200v Sony action cam and andy's camcorder. His is some kind of hd sony w a display.
  5. I run a camera on a headband and have a friend run a 3rd person view camera also. Then we switch for his run. Turns out very nice. And I honestly don't even notice the head cam once the buzzer goes off.
  6. What about a hammer shape opposite of what they do on the "cammer hammer" for 1911? Instead of cutting a swoop into the hammer to increase leverage you could build a rounded hump into the hammer to counteract the increase in leverage as the slide moves rearward. You could really cut it into any shape you want to slow the slide where you want in the cycle.
  7. Thanks for the pointers. I definately have to work on my grip. Somewhere along the line my left thumb has worked itself out there. Check out our video from our match this past Sunday.
  8. Here is our indoor stage from yesterday at Pardoe.
  9. Last weekend my buddy Andy, his son Killian , and I decided to setup two classifier stages and shoot them for practice. We each shot the first stage once before the battery quit in the camera. Here is the video.
  10. I can do consistent.15 to .17 w my tanfoglio elite match 40 major.
  11. If very budget minded I like to reccomend the polymer eaa witness. You can get the 9mm model for under $300 and when they decide to make the move to an all steel gun they can keep their mags and pouches. Also you can build 21 round mags that fit the USPSA limited 140mm length for under $35 each!
  12. I use hp38 for my 40 s&w 180grain major load.
  13. My only gun in 40s&w is a tanfoglio. I'm not sure why but between my lee resize die and the fcd my reloads come off of the press great! And all of my brass is from a 5 gallon bucket I purchased from a range. Not to say your setup isn't superior, just that this is what works for me.
  14. Not sure if my thumb is off of the gun or not. I'm working on a brass weight for the front of the frame w a *thumb rest [generic]* built in. Just waiting for some free time on my buddies mill. Pardoe is great! Can't wait for outdoor shoots to start in April. Indoor stage plans are tough because we can only shoot Into the back wall.
  15. It's a concrete floor so sliding is not an issue. We sweep up brass between runs.
  16. Thanks. I'm trying to build viewers but I'm new to the whole YouTube channel thing.
  17. My name is Corey Scheel. I have been shooting USPSA for about a year and I just recently started recording video of my matches. Please Check out my latest video here: http://youtu.be/DpVVa9pRHos Please like and share and subscribe to my YouTube channel FastGunnerCZ Thanks!
  18. I like stages with steel at the begining or middle of the stage. Makes it harder to plan your reloads for the later part of the stage.
  19. I use a lee factory crimp die and every round functions fine. Between resizing and the fcd glocked brass comes off of my press the same as everything else!
  20. 4.6 hp38 behind a 180 xtremebullets @ 1.135" just makes major in my 4.8" eaa witness. 4.3 hp38 behind a 180 lead @1.140 does the same.
  21. I have noticed the hammer bump on my elite match 40. I shoot major so my recoil spring overcomes it easily. But I could definitely see polishing it next time I feel like tweaking something.
  22. I have always had good luck with cci primers and hp38.
