  1. This is all really good stuff, especially Enos's old post. The only other addition I think I can add would be that after "Make Ready" I then go thru the visualization one more time (some RO's at local matches get annoyed by this but I figure they will get over it) and then I try to smile right before the beep. The smile idea came from a Max Michel class. I believe he suggested it for two reasons, one is because it's hard to be stressed or nervous when you are smiling and the other is to help blank your mind out by giving you something to think about other then shooting since you really want your subconscious mind to be shooting the course for you.
  2. I have listened to quite a few of this year's speakers and I would highly recommend it.
  3. This is kind of personal preference. I like audio books because it allows me to further my knowledge while in the car which is usually just dead time. I have been able to listen to numerous hours of podcasts and books on shooting that I would have never had time to read or listen to at home. The only thing I miss about not having a book is I cannot take notes or underline. As everyone has already said this book is definitely one of the must yearly reads so it may be justified to own both.
  4. Ok, good to hear! I also have a CK frame but was curious on how much fitting. Thanks for your input.
  5. I watched last night's episode and it was well worth my time. I just bought you book and am excited to hear your insights on shot calling tonight! This is perfect timing because I just started practicing Travis Tomasie's drill a couple of weeks and was kind of disappointed with my results from the first 3 practice sessions. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
  6. This is definitely the best sale I've seen from them and I highly recommend their bullets.
  7. I noticed Max Michel is endorsing these supplements and was curious if anyone has had experience with them? https://www.aimcise.com/max-michel-keys-to-shooting-success-supplementation/
  8. Do you think someone with some "amateur" gunsmithing skills could do the fitting?
  9. Fyi - i just bought one of these today from Speed Shooters International because there were having a Black Friday - Cyber Monday Sale and you get 10% off. It's hard to find these on sale anywhere.
  10. As soon as I started CONSISTENTLY doing the visualization that he is talking about above then I drastically improved. Visualizing the stage over and over and over was probably the simplest and easiest thing for me to do that gave me the most return on my investment.....or as the say, it was the lowest hanging fruit. I also have to be cautious about changing my stage plan right before I shoot when the guy before me finds a more efficient way to run the stage. I am better off sticking to my original plan because I have committed it to memory by now and it's too late to visualize this new plan over and over and over.
  11. Great idea! I have found that breaking down the skills into as small as steps as possible and then practicing them individually is where I see the most improvement BUT boy does it get boring. This would also give you a way to kind of bench mark yourself doing multiple should over time. I also am going to try out your idea of having your family mix things up for you.
  12. Does anyone know if you sign up for the paid package do you get access to last year's videos?
  13. I have heard about the clicking a pen exercise; does anyone know if that really helps?
  14. Does anybody know if the Optic stages will be available for walk through's on the Friday before it starts?
  15. Here is some really good info regarding forearm exercises. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.nsca.com/uploadedFiles/NSCA/Resources/PDF/Education/Articles/Assoc_Publications_PDFs/resistance_training_to_improve_pistol_shooting_performance.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwio5I6dv8ncAhVRXKwKHU9-C8AQFjAAegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw3snMv9afNa2eF7kAzUPKEb
  16. Great write up and explanation Dave! I think this may be exactly the same problem I am having. I am also going to play with a little lighter recoil spring and see what that does.
  17. +1 on Precision Delta's JHP! They work great!
