  1. I see my sights in alignment on the target at 7 yards. Otherwise... I get crappy points. =(
  2. I don't see the point to not pressing the trigger on bigger drills.
  3. I think careful testing showed that whomever was using the Stock 2 dominated.
  4. I would check with Bodkin first, If he doesn't have any he should have the actual EAA part number. With the part number you should be able to score some from EAA.
  5. Maybe a tenth longer. It really isn't much.
  6. You experimented and figured out what works for you. I think you are on the right track.
  7. I think near doubles happen, questionable calls happen, etc. When you see the same person having issue after issue after issue match in and match out, then you can probably infer that there is something funky going on with that person.
  8. I think you may want to black out the white dot for awhile and check up on it later.
  9. The posted story is missing some important details. I don't plan on posting them. On another note, it looks like I don't even need to post here in order to keep a range diary.
  10. I just got the first run of basepads for large frame guns (these new pads don't require a tool to take them off the mag). How many of you guys use small frame guns? Is it even worth the effort to make the new style pads for them?
  11. There is new stuff in the book. I also have stuff on my site from the book that you may not have seen. http://benstoeger.com/joomla30/index.php/dry-fire-training-program
  12. No. You need to put the pressure into the trigger straight back. Your issue is your trigger finger.
  13. 1 sec draw, 1 sec reload, .16 splits
  14. Area 3 is on the books. I only got video of day one. I shot conservatively. This match had many opportunities for a trainwreck and I did my best to avoid them. Almost everyone on my squad cratered on one stage or another and quite honestly it scared me. I just didn’t want that to happen.
  15. I am currently enroute to Area 3, and I am looking forward to it. I had a downright TERRIBLE practice today, so I will dryfire the shit out of my gun in the next couple days to make up for it. I think that will leave me in a good place to do great things at the match. I have been really busy the last few weeks. Doing one on one training, recording my DVD, Podcasts, etc. I have been finding time for shooting… and I am getting to shoot plenty when I am working with people. I feel a lot better than I did before Area 5. We will see.

  17. Training has been proceeding as planned. I identified a couple weak points after the Great Plains match. Mostly my crappy reloads and poor shooting from tight positions. I feel like I am knocking out the close range targets just fine, so I am cutting back on training for them. I should be ready to go for Area 3.
  18. I am doing it wrong. http://benstoeger.com/joomla30/media/com_podcastmanager/7-16-13.mp3
