  1. I gave these a try at the range today. 2+1 Drills. Just the same as the IDPA classifier. Whats the Catch? Try them at 20 yards. The head box was.... intimidating, to say the least. These types of long range shooting really let a newer shooter (like myself) know where he stands. Some of the better guys here should try these at let me know how fast they can do them. I am guessing some of the studs on this board could do these in under 2.50. Just a guess. Have fun
  2. Ok I just got back from shooting. It was my second practice in as many days. I was working with just one target. I feel I need to back away from multiple target hoser type drills for awhile. Here is the odd part, Yesterday I was shooting pretty well. I felt I broke some new ground. I left the range damn near elated. Today, I shot just about the same. I didn't feel so much like I was breaking ground, but I still shot very solidly. I left the range feeling dissapointed and unhappy. Yesterday I FELT great Today, I FEEL crappy I can't see any reason for why I feel so low today. Its not like I was Totally screwing up or anything like that. The Question: Whats going on here? How do I stop this negative feeling?
  3. If anyone here plays computer games, you might want to check out Brothers in Arms. Its a WW2 shooting type game. You get to order a squad around, and the game plays at least semi realistically. You aren't a one man army, you have to use teamwork. Its cool, check it out.
  4. I had really low expectations going in to Sin City. I was curious to see it, but didn't know if it would be good or not. I ended up thinking it was above average, but not spectacular. I thought the movie plodded a little in some spots. Some of the plot "twists" weren't intriging at all. Some parts were great. I think i should point out the movie was horrifically violent in a very creative way. Sin City isn't for everyone, but if you like dark, you will like it. Ben
  5. Sac Man looks like you beat me by a couple minutes. Damn.
  6. It strikes me as unfair to require someone to empty a fully loaded pistol regardless of its capacity. Someone in the same equipment division with a lower capacity gets done sooner. I am assuming that they have to start fully loaded though.
  7. It seems to me that you put in plenty of time. But do you put in the effort? When you practice, are you just pulling the trigger? Or, are you really paying attention to whats going on? I think in Brians book he called this "Learning through awareness". I learned so much when I just payed attention to what I was doing, rather than just doing it. You have made a step in the right direction by coming to this forum. I lurked here for a few months before i posted. There is a lot of knowledge here, you are in the right place. Ben
  8. I have heard from a few sources (so it must be true, right?) that Jerry M teaches people in his wheelgun classes not to have a "dead gun". While your shooting, he says you should keep the trigger in motion. It struck me in my practice today, that for most types of shooting, one can apply the same concept to autos. Instead of keeping the trigger moving though, you keep the sights moving. Either moving while the gun cycles, or moving to the next target. I have no Idea if this is a viable concept or not. Its just an idea right now, probobly requires some experimentation. Ben
