  1. I don't pre prep my brass so I always case gauge. But that's a bummer to happen at a match!
  2. This article makes some good points on why not to modify your EDC. Doesn't matter where you live as each jurisdiction has their on set of rules. http://concealednation.org/2014/07/why-you-should-keep-your-concealed-carry-firearm-stock/
  3. Doesn't happen to me loading Xtremes. Try the suggestions above.
  4. We chrono before major matches and usually bump it up at least +5 from the minimum just to make sure we make it. You'd hardly notice the difference. Also keep in mind that not all chronos are all the same. Just because you read 125 20x over on your chrono doesn't mean you'll get that on another chrono as those have variance as well.
  5. Do whatever you're comfortable with and can be fast on. I cannot put my index finger on the bullet for reloads as it is physically impossible to do so with my mag pouch. The pouch covers the tip of the mags where the bullet would be. But index finger on the front of the mag does work best even if you're 2/3 of the way up. Avoid standing reloads though.
  6. The 9mm followers are shorter than the 38 super followers on the STI mags. Hence the need for the spacers at the back. I've used 38 super/9mm mags on a Para/Rock Island platform and they work just fine. In the case of the 38/9 mags, it uses a 38 super follower so no spacer is needed but the 9mm rounds sit further back as they are shorter.
  7. It was a good movie. But, Keanu Reeves, Russian mob! John Wick was bad ass!
  8. L0L! I'm with you... We're already great dads so that goal's been met. GM time!
  9. I bought my Dillon on the advise of friends. We're all running 550's and 650's and when something happens like this, we borrow from one another until we get a replacement from Dillon.
  10. I'm the opposite. At first I hated open because I can't find the red dot as opposed to irons which were always there. It took me about a month to get used to it and now I don't want to go back to production. Maybe because your local matches are geared more for iron shooters the stages reflect that as well. Try building stages (or ask for it) with targets further back or ones where you need more precise shooting where the open guns shine.
  11. Me too! Maybe we should chat here and get our post count way up there. LoL!
  12. My understanding is unless otherwise stated in the stage procedure that's not a procedural. He should have just said no you cannot shoot it from that location.
  13. It fits but is not flushed on the right. Watch this video:
  14. Those RIA frames are identical to the older Para models. For my RIA 2011 9mm, the Guncraft Extended Mag Release for Para Hi Cap just dropped right in. You can make others work by fitting it in (some grinding and sanding).
  15. The Dawson extended basepads for Para P16-40 fits on the Mecgar Para P18-9 magazines. And yes, the P18-9 magazines with the Dawson basepad fit in the stock magwell. I have pics but I'm "new" to the forum and it won't let me post them.
  16. Had the same issue with Arredondo with my M&P. You could shave the follower off or just load less rounds so the follower doesn't actually go out at the bottom of the mag and get stuck on the way up. But your real solution is a TTI basepad [emoji16]
  17. This happened to me as well. So I Googled it and the solution was to tighten the shell plate holder a smidge so that when ur shell goes to station 2 the casing is held firmer. This fixed my problem.
