    3 Gun CZ's

Another guy who I shot with last month (and who won the match) was shooting a 75 SP01 Accu Shadow. Unfortunately I heard that he had a squib in practice and tried launching another one after. The gun is going back to CZC for a new barrel. I haven't seen any other CZs but really just saw the guns on my squad. Lots of M&Ps and a mix of Glocks, STIs, and the occasional SV. Earnest Langdon was on my squad last month and I think he was still rocking a Beretta 92. Don't get me wrong, he is scary good with that gun.
  2. Has anyone tried ionbond? How does Cerakote ware compare to the stock finish?
  3. Momentum can be your best friend or worst enemy. I usually break a stage up into shooting positions. The times it takes to get into and out of position can add up fast so make it count when you do have to plant and look for opportunities to minimize the times that you have to stop where possible.
  4. Here is a great explanation and example of an aggressive grip/posture.
  5. Oh no, hope that doesn't severely impact the Accu work on my Shadow that I mailed today.

    CZ 97B

Wow, that looks like a lot of gun there. Do you own one? I see it's drilled and tapped but I would love to see one with a micro dot milled into the slide.

    CZ 97B

I am all 9s right now but would like something with a little more authority for when I head out into "nature." A 10mm might be a little better. Kneelingatlas, any suggestions there?
  8. To clarify, about flush with a 10+1 NC tube on a 28" gun? Thanks
  9. I always use my right since I can easily reach the slide stop without shifting my grip. It's right there so I don't think using my left could be more efficient. My answer might be different if I couldn't easily reach the slide stop with my right. Just as long as you don't pull back on the slide to release it. I find it baffling that so many have been led to believe that it is the best way for some reason.
  10. I personally prefer the red dot but maybe you should consider options with a laser. A few smaller guns even have them built it.
  11. That looks awesome! What barrel length and extension size did you go with? I have a 28" A5 shipping to my FFL and I am think an 11 round tube will be close to flush. I already have a +1 and +2 for when a couple more would be useful.
  12. There are a lot great shooting books about there but for discussions like this a really love Brian Enos' book. He will give you some key principles about grip and stance but then sit you on the journey of awareness where you can experiment, observe, and teach yourself what works best for you.

    G26 for IDPA?

Is that the gun you own now or the one you want to get? Definitely don't buy the G26 just for IDPA unless it's a Bug Gun match. A very good shooter could make Master with a G26 nut it certainly would be easier with a 19, 17, or 34. I started USPSA with a G19 which worked fine to start out but within a few months I picked up a G34 and never looked back. I bought a G26 for carry at one point. I found that it was accurate but with that shoot sight radius minor misalignment s can make a big difference down range. Also, even with the finger extension on the magazine I didn't feel nearly as confident shooting it as I did my Glock 19 or certainly my 34. The little short magazines are harder for me to grab and reload quickly, especially since I have to get so much of my hand out of the way to find the magwell which sits much deeper into my grip. I also found that where I usually carried (IWB) that it was just as easy for me to carry my G19 which was just as concealable but much better shooting. G26 was too big for Pocket carry so the only additional carry alternative that I had for the G26 over the 19 was an ankle holster. Those are super impractical by the way. In summary, yes, you can shoot it in IDPA but almost any other Glock would be much better.
  14. Thanks, JC. I have been happy with what I have been using with one exception. While quad loading my second semester of quads I sometime bump my third set that suits on another ELS and knock loose the first shell of next set of quads. There have been a Feb other times that I made it rain shells too so anything that improves that issued without slowing me down would be very welcome. I think I prefer having a space between quad pairs be caused I feel like I can grab them faster but I guess I don't know until I try the other.
  15. That's the kind of thing they only get away with in Outlaw forms. Around here there are governing provisions for how these things are handled. If only there were a thread somewhere discussing the positives and negatives having standard rules across all forums versus each forum just making it up as they go along... That couldn't possibly be contentious.
  16. Think about the appearance of a blaster in a race holster.......That looks a lot like a naked gun being pointed at people...... Not to mention the fact that some competitors will then throw the belt over their shoulders, which will result in muzzles being pointed at other people, etc. Just not a great idea...... The belt newer comes off. That's the beauty of TMMS/ELS/QLS. I take every opportunity to remove unneeded gear only attaching what is absolutely necessary for that stage.
  17. My wonder if something like this could be as special exhibit at the NRA National Firearms museum on something. It's would be awesome to see the guns and gear through time as well. Who has contacts?
  18. You need to punch whoever told you that in the nuts. It's as flawed as the old school Weaver pull/push concept. get a strong neutral grip. the gun's recoil is perfectly capable of applying force during recoil. There is never a reason that you should be actively trying to add force in the same direction.
  19. This seems to include all non nuclear like missiles as well. Given that they maintain a $70 billon this means that 1.4% of it's inventory would be on the chopping block. Here is the full GAO report: http://www.gao.gov/assets/670/662161.pdf
  20. I try to do this whenever I don't need the pistol for a stage. Some matches I can just take the holster off and put it in my bag anywhere. Others I go to the safe area before removing the holster and will sometimes just leave it the gun sitting in the holster in the safe area until I get done (assuming its attached to the bay where I am shooting).
  21. yeah, that looks okay as long as its OEM. I must have misunderstood. I used to modify the trigger safety itself to contour with the rest of the trigger surface which wouldn't fly. I started USPSA shooting a G19 myself. It served as my EDC for years.
