  1. Your stage at that point doesn't follow the rules. That is your choice. Exactly!
  2. I agreement with this. Swinging past a target to break the 180 not what I am talking about. It when you have that same target clearly visible at 190 degrees as well. This is in line with the original discussion about running past targets and what the responsibility might be to set up a stage so that targets aren't available once the shooter had advance up range. A separate topic is setting up a target on the 179 degree line. That is perfectly legal as assuming that is the only place where you can shoot that target. The question I would ask is could that same target be placed at 170 degrees without changing the stage significantly thus making it less likely that shooters will over swing? Was the target pit on the 179 by the stage designer for the express intent of challenging the shooter to not break the 180? If so then I think we have a problem.
  3. I continue to believe you have the incorrect interpretation. As visible and when visible have no qualifiers such as "initially" or "at some point." It's absolute.
  4. Stages should be challenging but maintaining safety should not be a designed focal point of that challenge.
  5. Fredericksburg puts on some great matches but ever notice how each one starts with a stern warning about how many shooters were DQed at the last match for breaking the 180?It drives me crazy because it's completely unnecessary and has inspired me to take some examples of stages to write an article for Front Site called, the 180 trap. I haven't started writing it yet but I am inspired non the less. Also, ensure don't get me started on the corner bay declared to have a "floating 180."
  6. The catalog mentions using QLS with the 014 but I am with you, it doesn't look correct. http://www.safariland.com/Catalogs/EViews/OutdoorProductsCatalog/files/assets/basic-html/page46.html I have to say that it doesn't seem that Safariland did a good job with hole spacing being consistent across different product lines.
  7. Thanks for the suggestions. Now all I need to do is make time for the range :-/
  8. Would it fit on the second one from the left on the bottom? http://www.brianenos.com/forums/uploads/monthly_05_2014/post-5345-0-81732900-1399065378.jpg
  9. Does it look like it might fit on the Safariland QLS? I posted a picture awhile back showing the different attachments. I have an NIB QLS if you are interested.
  10. What's type round count on the side match and can anyone wonder in on Sunday morning to shoot it a few times? I am guessing no reloads?
  11. Side by side with an SP01 would be awesome too.
  12. While on that subject which larger FO sight would you recommend for the A5?
  13. +1 for Production with a 9mm. The difference is ammo cost alone will really make a difference.
  14. Nice! I will be watching for the range report.
  15. USPSA Production gun list says SP01 Shadow is 42oz and 75 Shadow is 39oz.
  16. Do you have any bullets or brass that have been stuck in the chamber right now by chance. You should be able to see where it was handing up by examining the round.
  17. If just started because of the brass you are reloading. Maybe it's once fired or more. Glocks don't have a fully supported chamber so the cases can bulge a bit so once fired Glock brass can sometimes cause issues. This was especially true in my KKM which I thankfully sold. Also, you might not notice it but you will usually be every so slightly out of battery which causes the light strikes.
  18. Once the round comes out you will likely be able to see a little ring around the slight bulge in the case of our bullet where it has been slightly polished by being wedged in the chamber.
  19. KKMs have a really tight chamber and I had issues with mine as well. Much tighter than stock, Wolf, BarSto and etc. I had to be very careful about case gauging everything and if it offered any resistance to the gauge then it went to the practice pile. After the round has been chambered once it will usually go back in since the act of initially chambering it has removed some of the case bulge or whatever was causing the issue. Do you need help getting the round out once it's stuck with the slide forward? I would be happy to demonstrate if you are looking for a good technique.
  20. I would only do it if I were weak hand caddie loading. Quad loading keeps my thumb away from the fork and it isn't as vicious as the M2 or Versas are.
  21. I saw some videos from that match and you are correct, it was a hoser match. It seems like out here I see far fewer hoser stages and much more emphasis of accuracy than what I experienced at clubs in the West. Don't get down on yourself about performance at this match because my guess is that it likely required a very different set of skills than what you have been focusing on thus far. Still, you finished in the top quarter of 50 Production shooters in a match with a Production GM and Multiple Masters. You beat each and every C class and D class shooter and you were shooting on par with the Bs. As long as you walked away learning or observing something new then this match was a success.
  22. I just set up a new gun for 12 in the tube. The manufacturer makes 26",28",and 30" so I was looking for a 26". A new 28" was available for $200 less so I am a proud owner of that now. The tube is still a few inches longer than the barrel so I don't feel that functionally it is vastly different.
  23. I went on a YouTube hunt one day looking for stupid quotes for the Gun Counter humor thread. It didn't take long.
  24. I wouldn't make fun of anyone who did this at a match but when I see it while watching shooting videos at home I definitely chuckle. Most people who practice this on YouTube videos are pretty laughable on their own but the checking for additional threats pushes it over the edge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNlpnGaZx_Y&feature=youtube_gdata_player
