    P320 X5 Thread

FYI, the Grayguns "cam safety" is an additional part that Grayguns installs as part of its competition trigger work. I think it eliminates this possibility.
  2. They didn't argue that it wasn't readily replaceable. They said it was a grip, not a grip part.
  3. I'm not sure how they handled unfinished stages. They (CD) said no FTE penalties and there was only a 10 second miss penalty on long range steel so I can see how that could be exploited. 180 was the max stage time. Penalties added time and match points weren't used for overall finish.

  5. He ran it in Limited division. Typically he shoots Production or CO. You would have to check with him whether he is still using it.
  6. Mason Lane had one made by welding a shelf onto the TDL

    320 Thumb Safety

The X5 grips even have a slightly visible line where you would remove material to accommodate the safety.
  8. It was nice finally meeting in person. Still not a fan of Facebook shenanigans, but I'd squad with him anytime.
  9. I use Loctite Marine epoxy with some black colorant mixed in to make it gray. The set time for that is quite a bit longer so it gives you lots of work time. I brush it on with a paintbrush. I suspect it is goes on thinner and smoother than JB weld but I haven't compared directly. On the undercut, I will usually start with a Dremel but I then move to sandpaper wrapped around the thick Sharpie. Do like 200 grit I'm incremental to 1000 or so depending on what type of polymer you are working with.
  10. These are the two I use over a few days hundred P320 grip jobs. I describe the 46/70 as aggressive and the 36 grit as super aggressive. 6350 locks your hands in very well, to the point that it's hard to shift your grip once acquired. 46/70 is a good compromise. On my own I do 36 on the left side and 46/70 everywhere else. http://therockshed.com/crushedrock1.html
  11. You should come shoot the Wyoming Governor two gun match in a couple of weeks. http://competition-dynamics.com/magpul-governors-match-2017/
  12. I think it has been mentioned, but those taping guns are amazingly effective as well and a couple of guys with those in hand could make make short work of a stage. I just bought one and am kicking myself for having not done it years ago. Additional help for setting steel perhaps but in some matched the stage crews reset steel for consistency.
  13. That littlest guy is pointy. You could switch to an old style grip module and slide catch or if ambi is not needed then just whack off the right side slide catch. I have several of these if you end up not liking the results.
  14. I would like to do either of these. I'm not lazy but the current culture that everyone has to go down range each time is literally a waste of time and energy. More effective to have dedicated assignments that rotate.

    P320 X5 Thread

There are specific rules about Grips in Production that haven't been been referenced yet. Those might be more applicable than the one mentioned.

    P320 X Carry

I think it does. Somewhere I might have seen the Carry plate on an X5. You would need to add a taller front sight.

    P320 X5 Thread

I know someone who put an ask in to DNROI on the grip topic. I would hope you could use them across approved guns but since it changes the profile a lot and perhaps even the magwell (especially moving the X Grip to the full size guns) I would want some verification.

It's the exact same part. This is one of those areas where the USPSA rules haven't been caught up to the modular design. I would struggle to figure out which FCUs came on which of my guns from the factory as I mix and match often. I think an explicitly interpretation of the rules would say it's not legal but practical implementation can't tell a difference and there is absolutely no advantage to be had. This is even worse than the Production hammer issue and makes much less of a difference IMHO.

    P320 X5 Basepads

Springer Precision is the actual go-to option. His .375 pads work on the 17 rounders and will work with the magwell when you select the magwell option.
  20. That looks very similar to the pattern I lay down. It should be legal. I have worked on many grips that have been used at Production Nationals and other majors. This has never been an issue.

    P320 X5 Thread

I had a text edit above to change a "nothing wasn't" to a "nothing was." I sometimes hit the wrong word when I am typing fast on my phone. Nothing on the beavertail of that first gun we were discussing was even more touched and it is absolutely Production legal.
  22. Thanks for the update. Is an approximate round count available?
  23. Cole4RHT should be 10% off. If you haven't then should consider the Red Hill Tactical/Springer Precision hanger as well. Very similar performance to a BOSS but better colors. Thanks for your interest.

    P320 X5 Thread

Nothing nothing covered by grit was touched on that grit job so it should still be legal for Production and Carry Optics. For comparison if you want to see what I actually looks like removing material and soothing the beavertail out then it's more like this CO/Limited only reduction:
