    Sig MPX

Springer Precision has released its MPX magwell. It's aluminum, nicely anodized, and only $60. He designed it to be streamlined: adding funnel only where useful as the MPX already has a nice big funnel on the front. That is also supposed to help you reload a bit more naturally since you don't have that massive funnel getting in the way. http://shop.springerprecision.com/product.sc?productId=444&categoryId=57

  3. I messaged DAA about it last night. Saul responded today and suggested trying to move the balls inside the dropper to the lower position. I did that and it seems to have fixed it. It's working perfectly now.
  4. I am having the problem of extra bullets occasionally dropping. Sometimes when the plate indexes and sometimes it drops multiples at the top of the stroke. I'm running a 650 that has lots of slack in the spring (it actually sags a bit), and if I back off the toolhead any then no bullets drop. Bullets are FP 124gr Xtreme. I'd take any advice you can give.

That's my only complaint. I think it could use one more level of brightness.

Also, when you send your X5 in it will likely come back with a new Disconnector system which means that you won't have the dry fire click. Trade off there is no 'double click' and might be shorter trigger travel overall.
  8. The X5 would likely get the redesigned disconnector system.
  9. It's a timing issue with the trigger disconnect. The voluntary upgrade changes to a different style of disconnector so it shouldn't be a problem after that.
  10. The #2 metric seems close. I think can't find a perfect fit.
  11. A few things to consider about the upgrade. The X5 essentially ships with 2/3 enhancements already in place. This, combined with the change in impact angle introduced by the longer beavertail, may account for why the YouTube scientists were not able to get it to drop fire. The X5 already has the skeletonized striker and, while not as light as the new redesigned trigger, it has a lighter trigger. The final modification that SIG plans to make is adding a slide actuated disconnector. This will help to eliminate tolerances differences that have lead to some P320s having a more pronounce "double click." In fact, it will likely eliminate the second click altogether which will make an update P320 a bit less interesting for dry fire. You might want to keep one setup unmodified for dry fire use. Not having to rely on a trigger actuated disconnect should enable you to shorten the reset an improve the performance of the trigger in live fire overall. This is all my assessment, not information gained from elsewhere.
  12. I think that SIG had been chasing drop safety improvements but they only found out about the negative 30 degree vulnerability the same time that the rest of the world did.
  13. Seekins Precision works at 45 degrees, but not at 90.
  14. I believe the P320 to be safe enough for competition. The X5, even more so. That said there is no rule in USPSA that says that guns must be drop safe (beyond specific standards or within). The rules for Production and CO only state that you cannot disable factory safeties as is common in Limited, Open and etc.
  15. The drop safety aspects as designed in the P320 are functional and have allowed it to pass all of the standard industry drop tests. Thus vulnerability with an obscure drop angle does not equate to the drop safety being disabled (what the USPSA rules are looking for). There are plenty of guns that show up to USPSA matched that would absolutely fail extreme drop tests. The safety of the weapon is still the Shooter's responsibility. I spoke with my Area Director and his take was that the P320 is not coming off of the Production gun list and he believes that local MDs don't have standing to turn it away from local matches.
  16. Nephi from the Governor's office sent to everyone today a survey through email. If you would like to weigh in on the match then please look for that email and provide your feedback to make this match better for next year.
  17. The Omaha outdoors (or whatever) video couldn't replicate this issue with the X5. As I understand the X5 has the lightened striker and a lighter trigger which helps to minimize it. Also the longer beavertail changes the angle at which the slide and back of the grip come into contact with the ground. It's possible that since you can't get that perfect negative thirty degree strike that the X5 is not susceptible.
  18. The X5 shipped with the lightened striker, along with a few other minor changes.
  19. On the first day of the match I remember that you turned me away when I asked about the stage, directing me to find all of the stage descriptions printed out by the sign in tables. As I turned to walk away you got may hopes up when you called out to stop me, but then said something else (that I can't recall) which also wasn't the stage description. This left me shaking my head and walking away to the pavilion in shame. Thankfully I found you to be very pleasant when it was my squads turn to shoot on Sunday morning. You were light hearted and showed flexibility with our squad. You did, however, traumatize a few shooters by proclaiming that specific targets were "dead" and stated that was a good thing. It ended up being a very enjoyable stage experience overall despite the obvious frustration of having to read a half page of text on the clock to decipher which targets were shoot, and which were no shoot. I ended up with a very good time on that stage which I think means that I read faster, not that my shooting was better in any particular way. Thank you for being out there all week to work the stage. I hope to see you next year.
  20. In this case I wouldn't say don't come again. I would say to hang tight and see whether your concerns are addressed to your satisfaction. Expect concerns to be taken seriously and corrected where possible. Wyoming would like this to be a must-attend match experience.
  21. Here is what the Governor's office posted to Facebook this morning:
  22. Miss penalties still applied. I didn't see anyone exploiting it massively but the opportunity was there. The rules left a few holes that trucks could drive through. TacOps rifles had Open+ rules. Shooters were bringing tripods, backpacks, and more for the long range stage. For example: One way or another I suspect the rules next year will be more mainstream...
