    .45 to .40

this by far the easyest route, and might be the cheapest unless your a gunsmith with lath.
  2. These are great books , cover every section of a 1911, and some great sections of malfuctions and the repair for them
  3. Good movie for after turkey, to sleep by , cold stone, why is it that all ex. wrestlers think they can act or be elected to some office
  4. planning on it right now if nothing else happens , if I can find a parking space for my rv, any idea on closes one to range
  5. A chrono is a must, even for shooting minor in 9, and a safe range would be nice, I bought a chrony master years ago, with the tape read out, must quicker and easier, just my 2 cents
  6. shooting with your son is the best, I've shot with mine at several major matchs over the years, he's in the army. It creates a certain bond that is unforgetable :cheers , and a after match drink never hurts

    D-Day

OK, I've stewed about it long enoght , Apparently the entire country has forgot this date in time and what it ment, two major papers in Indiana, Indianapolis Star, and the columbus republic had NO mentions of it at all, except for the Peanuts comic, What the Hell . almost 5,000 men lost their lives that day on a faraway beach and are buried their, people are yelling about that many being kia in afg. over a ten year period (with respect to those service members), what would they say if 5,000 was killed in one day!!, even the national new only had a closing brief on the subjuct, fox news coverage was about 2 minutes worth, but you look at it this way. The schools are teaching less and less world history (recent poll shows 3 out of 5 17yrs no not know who hitler was, in a few more years their will be no mention of nam or beruit, someday they may learn the old saying, if you forget the past you WILL repeat it, just the words of a rambling old man with a keybord in front of him, forgive me
  8. Bought one new almost 10 yrs. ago, slight adjustments for bell and bullet depet, sent it in almost 3 yrs ago,for a rebuild and except for same adjustment, it's as reliable as the sun rising in the morning
  9. Got to get one, then I'll have all three and maybe someday be able to get back into shooting
  10. one of the BEST matchs under the sun, gaming near to keep wife happy, the great state of mississippi to enjoy, it's on my calender, see ya there
  11. just got finished remodling home, now have three bedrooms, being empty nesters, I took the smallest bedroom and turned it into mancave, reloading bench made from kitchen base cabinet with counter top, powder, brass, primers in clostet, big screen t.v., rekliner, book shelves lined with gun books, reloading book, I've wanted this forever, I'm 55 and finally got it, I'll probaly die tommorrow now
  12. if you can find one Springfield made a double stack a couple times in the past few years, par magazines work in it just fine, if you adjust your magazine release sti 45 magazines will work, the xd is a great gun also, rock Island builds a double stack, I picked up one new last year for $485, but you also have to figure in your magazine funnel, 4 magazines, the holders for them and a slick holster, really it's what ever you'd feel right shooting, don't just be a follower (everone has STI, everyone has SA), enjoy the sport
  13. You'll love it, as long as the mount is good and strong, it will produce quite well, nice christmas present
  14. Did anyone else remember today???????? the day the war began for our fathers and grandfathers??? Seems anymore you don't hear to much, over 2000 military men and women lost their lives that day in a sneak attack, and many more in the years following it, with I quess the last major loss being the USS INDIANAPOLIS being sunk by a jap sub, I think there is only one hoosier left alive to day from that attack. Every now and then I hear some revisionary say we should not have dropped the bomb on japan, but when I ask if their grandfather or great grandfathers was in the pacific during that time, would they have survivied the land attack that was planned for japan? They always get this puzzled look on their face, and I say yea yer young ass might have not be born if we had to attack by land, then they shut up and go away. They don't understand the time or the cost of war, in blood and body count. I hope someone else remembers today before it's over. mike guenthenspberger
  15. safety and protecting your firearm is a good thing
  16. only way I got them to work was with a ramped barrel
  17. you could also use pre-trimmed once fired brass, available from several souces, some are primed brass
  18. so jim as long as I take mesurments from new brass and they match the prep-brass, neck to shoulder, neck to rim they will meet sammi standards right
  19. given the time it take to prep rifle brass, is it worth the extra 50-60 dollors per 1000? I work 8-10 hrs daily sometimes 7 days and drive a hour both ways, the brass would be 223,308 & 7.62x39, it seems like it might be worth the extra coin. any input? thanks

    VETERANS DAY

I spend a good deal of my life between the Navy and USMC (navy corpman) going where ever my country sent me and doing what ever was required of me, my son is currently a U.S. Army Major with tours in afg. and Irag, I have always been proud of my son like his father and grandfather he is serving our country. I still now a few men who will take a vacation day to attend a parade, one man I work with a retired first-sgt. is one of them, I don't know if greg every really left the army sometimes, but he is proud of his service and his country, his two children are also in the army. Veterans day should be a day of reflection of your storied past young days, every veteran should be proud of himself, other verterans and the brave young men and women preforming duty's in the u.s. millitary as I type this, Veteran's day is truly our day
