  1. There are a couple of used brass dealers on this forum, all else fails do a internet search for fired brass and you'll get quite a few hits from pistol to rifle brass, procced and unprocced, there is nothing wrong with used good once-fired brass, it's a lot cheaper than new and a lot of the times comes from L.E. ranges
  2. It's all about getting out of the house and having some fun, NO ONE is as fast as they used to be!! ,your equipment is still great stuff, pack your gear and go
  3. last I talked to gram, this spring. They had dumped doing the base pad kit for para-ord 45 acp, has he changed his mind
  4. if in doult get your brass from a supplier that rollsizes his 40 s&w
  5. Thanks for you suggestion jim, I measured my strong mount and with the width of the lip on my reloading bench(counter top) it will just about make it, I figure with the addition of a top, it would work, now I just have to figure out if I want a LNL or a new dillon 550
  6. I've been comparing prices looking to upgrade to load rifle rns. Jerry's sport center has them listed for 332.50 plus shipping-you'll need a ffl cabellas has it for 399.99, but has free shipping midway-398.99 widener's-369.00 it's listed on the web site for 490.15 I have not made up my mind on a dillon 550 or a LNL
  7. After all that, all I can say is welcome to the forums and the shooting gallery, everthing else has been said
  8. Morning: Is the Dillon case trimmer the fastest and as per the best money spent for trimming, or is there something else made that is better and do's more? thanks
  9. Just for my own information, is there any way to raise the LNL? if I got one it can not hang over the bench, the bench is full of drawers on top and would be blocked, the square deal I have has a stong mount, does the LNL have any such thing? thanks
  10. Jerry's sport center has it listed for $332.50, Cabellas has it for 399.99 but with free shipping, these are the two best deals I've found, I'm going to upgrade to a LNL or a dillon 550
  11. depends, the square deal is a good press, but you are limited to pistol rounds, if later you which to do rifle rns. you'll have to upgrade, you can get more production time with the 650 along with loading any pistol or rifle rn., with the square deal you are limited to dillon dies for sq.deal, with 650 the field is wide open for any die maker, plus you may never have to upgrade, if price is no option go with the 650. we need young men like yourself in the sport, but we also need men and women like you in the military, keep you head down and your power dry, godspeed on your save return, let us know when you get back. mike
  12. I'm just mad that you have the room for three press's, most of us have the room for one, enjoy
  13. how would i purchase one from gunbroker? thanks for responding! all you need is for the pistol to be legal in your state, find a ffl dealer willing to do the transfer, mail the dealer's signed ffl and money order to contact that your buying from (send certified), and wait to be recieved by ffl dealer, fill out your paper work and your done. Sounds long and drawen out, but most of the time the pistols are sent next-day delievery, and now the ffl can be faxed so that can speed it up even more. good-luck with your bidding
  14. The dillon square deal is a hell-of-a-press! and unlike the 550 comes set up with pistol dies installed, if you reloaded enought 9mm it would be worth the price, far below 600
  15. two options, call brownells, order a new upper (slide barrel extractor) then take to area gunsmith to have ramp cut and slide fitted to frame, order new magazines, much money. second option sell one and buy one, I did the first option with one of my springfield hi-caps, got what I wanted, but would have been cheaper to by a sti hi-cap new in the box, good-luck
  16. In the past, when I have a normal load for a 45, 40 ect., I check the weight of the loaded shell, that way if you find power in for scale you can check your batch and find the squib load verses unloading the entire batch, it works for me anyway
  17. Getting ready to sell my dillon square deal (a great reloader) so I can reload rifle shells as well as pistol, question? Should I invest in a dillon 550B, as stated a great reloader, or I have the option of securing a Lee Pro 1000 Progressive reloader, I know dillon for quality and no b.s. warrenty but with the cost of changing loads (from pistol to each rifle shell I would be loading) would the lee be a better idea? I know people that reload with both and both say the one they use is best. Some of them use the dillon with other dies, I would like to hear opions on this matter because money do matter these days, thanks

    6.8

Thanks to all that replied, question solved, yes I am a cheap skate when I can
  19. In the past I have used these (14 rn mags) with the dawson pad and trimming one coil from the spring and gotten 18 rounds reloadable, but the springs seem to wear out faster

    6.8

Evening: I have a dpms arlr 308 on order a buddy has a dpms 223, the question is and we have asked two different gunsmiths and gotten two different answers, will a regular lower for a 223 (dmps, bushmaster, colt ect.) function with a 6.8 upper with no modification? Or do you have to get a specific lower for the 6.8, yes saving money were you can is good, let me hear from ya
  21. Don't even mess with it, just box it up and send it to Dillon. They will have it looking brand new and back to you in a week. +1 on dillon rebuilding service, top notch
  22. +1 used it for years, soft and not much smoke
  23. This should be the number #1 book for ANYONE doing home gunsmithing, take your time and read it from cover to cover, BOTH books
  24. A bad day at the range is still better than and good day a work
