  1. All I shoot is hard cast lead in my G20. No issues.
  2. Stock for my Gen5 G19. I really like it how it is. For my Gen3 G17 I have an Overwatch Precision TAC in it now...its okay.
  3. I used a SS guide rod but left the spring weight alone and felt it made a noticeable difference. YMMV
  4. Good to go. Ive used this trigger for a good while and it really does make the gun much different!
  5. Soak it up. All the different games have their unique aspects. Welcome!
  6. Long post, Jim! Welcome to the forum!
  7. I also just got some land and plan to do at least one bay (270 degree coverage) that I may just use for all pistol work and then shoot into the primary backstop with rifles.
  8. Springs wear when cycled. Whether you load them to 15rd or 5 or 10. Shooting 18,000 rounds a year sure sounds like it could do it...
  9. This happened almost 2 years ago but thought Id share. All COF were staged to keep shooters from engaging targets at most angles due to the large rectangle that was the indoor range. We could do some limited angular shooting as long as bullets still made it to the backstop. Most courses didnt even come close to having angles as this was a fairly beginner/entry level local match and we mostly wanted to have fun. No one was out to DQ anyone and this was more lighthearted than competitive. Stage had two real points where you could engage due to barricades with start point at the rear of the range engaging a 21yd target directly in front of you. We were to then proceed in an exaggerated S movement along the barricade path simulating a hallway to the final shooting position again putting you facing downrange at a much closer target. The point where I failed was I let a quick comment get the better of me. Another competitor said "I bet you cant shoot this in X time" and I kind of smirked. My brain took that as GO FAST. Buzzer goes off and I draw and sprint to the barricade to engage the 21yd target from slightly further but putting me that much closer to finishing. In my run I never glanced at the angle of the shots and once I finished my COF (fastest shooter on the stage, BTW) the RO asked if I knew what I did wrong. I was baffled...I just shot this faster than anyone else. We checked targets and I had all 0 zone hits...and two blemishes on the cinder block wall behind the 21yd target. Oops. Learned my lesson. Wouldnt have happened on an outdoor range - BUT, did highlight the need to validate what lies beyond my target even in competition.
  10. Plenty of good info already here just contributing: I use 124gr coated lead. They work great. Never have shot 147gr through my guns to test but I do like how the 124s feel vs 115s. I use Bullseye powder at 3.9-4 grains. CCI primers because theyre known and reliable.
  11. That sounds like weakening magazine springs to me. If all we did was drop full magazines they would work great!
  12. I realize this is an older topic. When I get cases sticking I generally run some case cleaner on my fingertips and wipe down the funnel with it.
  13. I count my shots even when Im not in a match. I count other peoples shots. It has become an ingrained habit.
  14. Ive been here awhile...but havent started posting until today. Mostly shoot IDPA lately but have shot USPSA and 3Gun!
  15. Being younger I always liked the stages that had two boxes spread as far apart as possible. This generally meant I could use my youth to outrun some bad shooting...but after thinking about it I actually like the adrenaline and trying to shoot after a dead sprint!
  16. Mental preparation is the only advice I can give. Even then - sometimes you forget a target or take an extra shot and it throws your plan out the window. Being an all around good shooter helps...
  17. I am not loading the projectile weight you are but I reload 125gr hitek coated rounds. In my experiences I fluctuate up and down a tenth just due to measurement error. Is the press even capable of holding a tenth? When I started loading I was using 4.2, 4.4, and 4.6 of Bullseye and the difference between each could be noticed when firing.
  18. I noticed the same issues when handling the TP9SF Elite at the gun shop. My cousin owns a TP9SFx and swears his magazines drop free. Seems intermittent.
