  1. I don't think the front face milling impacted the internals.
  2. No good reason? More weight less recoil or muzzle rise?
  3. Glockstore has them in their Double Diamond line.
  4. Toni System, the Italian company that made my frame weight and thumb rest also makes a mirror image thumb rest for lefties that attaches to the other side of the frame weight. The frame weight has the same four threaded holes on each side. These holes are used to attach thumb rests or brackets for mounting a dot sight above the slide or both the thumb rest and the bracket. They have three different thumb rests that they call finger rests, the 3D version I bought, a more traditional "*thumb rest [generic]*" type and one with more of a ramp to it. Each comes in both right and left handed shooters versions. See photos and parts lists here: http://www.tonisystem.it/US/kit-glock-open.html For some reason the site won't let me say *thumb rest [generic]* as one of the types...
  5. Do you mean more like a front view? And yes, there is a shallow channel for the flat bar portion of the barrel guide set up. Will try to get a photo up tomorrow.
  6. I've used the captured tungsten guide rods from Glockstore in both my G22 and G35 for about three years with no problem. More recently bought their non-captured one for my G35, since it is longer and adds a little more muzzle weight. It has about 1500 rounds through it so far with no problems. I have a 9 mm conversion barrel, so this new rod has been in and out about weekly the last 4 months.
  7. So Remington is financially bankrupt but morally straight?
  8. My photos should give you a pretty good idea how far to go. since I am not a machinist and don't have access to the necessary equipment and tools, the Toni System weight and modified holster was the way to go. Since the holster retails for about $145 alone, my total cost about $200 for holster and modifications by a professional made sense.
  9. Also posted in the speed holster for glocks with frame weights and thumb rest thread. Here is my Toni System modified Ghost Holster The One, Glock 35. About $200 out the door, taxed and shipped UPS from Italy.
  10. And here is the opposite side showing the clearance around the 3D thumb rest.
  11. My Toni Systems modified Ghost Holster The One arrived today! It fits around both the frame weight and 3D thumb rest perfectly without interfering with the Ghost Holster function at all. This is my first speed holster and the difference is amazing. First the holster showing that front lower half was milled down to fit the frame weight. Second, the pistol with frame weight in place and holstered. Came to about $200 total for the holster and modification, taxed in and shipped from Italy.
  12. Is that link a typo? It takes one to the website of a power company in Columbia, Tennessee. The Guga Ribas probably will not work pistols with a frame weight for the same reason other speed holsters don't work. When the trigger guard is inserted into the retaining slot of the holster the underside of the frame rail is too close to the front surface right below the trigger guard slot. I believe that surface is ground down when holsters are modified (like by SJC) to make room for the part of the frame weight below the rail. This side view of the Guga Ribas shows the holster below the retaining slot is essentially flush with the underside of the frame rail. There is no room for the frame weight. Please go back to sigsauerfan's December 9, 2017 post to see his photos demonstrating how much the frame weight extends below the rail. Novagunner's December 18th post has a photo of a modified Ghost holster where material has been removed to create space for the frame weight.
  13. Have you checked the extra space in the USPSA box around a G19? These extended and heavier base plates may meet your needs. You will have to trim off the little ears on the sides of your magazines to get these on and off. They have worked reliably for me after trimming, because the button latch is still functional. https://www.jwhcustom.com/product-category/accessories/glock/ I use blue, but they come in several colors or black with some popular images engraved.
  14. Good questions: Short answer: I'm old, slow, not a threat and I don't care! Long answer: I'm 68 years old and slow of foot and reflexes, competing against myself not a threat to the other local shooters. Shooting the G35 in limited ten right on the borderline between USPSA C and D without the frame weight or optic. Category doesn't really matter. Also, living in Los Angeles which outlawed standard capacity magazines two years ago, I'm limited to ten rounders, while those locals in other nearby towns still have their 15 round magazines. Finally, I saw several frame weights in television coverage of the Iron Sight Nationals by Shooting USA. When you get older you will realize the challenges that aging brings. The lenses of our eyes begin slowly hardening around age 40 which gradually reduces their ability to zoom, leading to the necessity for bifocals and eventually trifocals. If you were blessed with good distance vision then this eye aging creates the need for reading glasses. If you're near sighted like most, you're in trifocals. To see the front sight with trifocals you have to tip your head back to look through the bottom third of the lens which pretty much makes seeing the target with any clarity almost impossible. Many get "shooting glasses" where their dominant eye is corrected to see the front sight only and the other eye corrected for distance vision. so I'm not really worried about rules because I am not a competitive threat. Besides, if you think about the rules, how fair is it for a box stock Glock to compete against a CZ Shadow 2 in Production? Our local club works on the honor system. It's about having fun, being safe, enjoying camaraderie and trying to get a little better or maybe more accurately trying to slow the effects of the aging process for a few more seasons.
  15. What do you mean, SigSauerFan, by a little sanding? Will this holster work with my G35 and Toni Frame Weight and 3D Thumb Rest as pictured above?
  16. Contacted Toni Systems through the website contact form 3/16 evening and had a response waiting for me in the morning. We exchanged emails over the next several days to clarify exactly what I wanted, what colors, what payment method (options were bank transfer vs Paypal), address. Their last request was my birthdate. Probably wanted to be sure I was not a minor. Once they knew my order and all the details, I got a message/invoice from Paypal on 3/21 which I approved. The product was shipped 3/22 and would have arrived 3/26 had I been home to receive it. Got it 3/27 and installed it right away, like a kid at Christmas. Fits my grip perfectly. Will be at the range tomorrow. Plan to order the holster sigsauerfan recommended above.

Sorry, it wasn't a no shoot white that I was recalling but a black cover of the front target in the qualifier stage called "pucker factor" where the hardcover is up to the top of the A zone leaving a sliver of shoulder and the whole head exposed. https://uspsa.org/viewer/09-04.pdf

We have both Deltapoint models. I have the 2.5 MOA dot on my USPSA carry optics G35 specifically for the distance accuracy or close proximity when a no shoot white target covers all but the head of the actual target. My wife has the 7 MOA triangle on her self defense XD 9 mm. The tip of the triangle is zeroed for more deliberate and accurate shots but just putting the triangle on target gives combat accuracy. She is the less experienced shooter who is primarily focused on combat or self defense.
  19. This is not a one size fits all item. Glocks are like Legos with interchangeability. The slide of my G22 fits on my G35 and vice versa, because both models use the same grip frame, as do the 17 and 34. Please go to the Glockstore website and see they sell a captured tungsten guide rod model that fits all Glocks with the same length recoil spring guide rod assembly, essentially all the first 3 generations but not the 42 or 43. The extended guide rod for the 34 and 35 mentioned above by "bowenbuilt" passes through bottom of the slide below the barrel where the other standard captured guide rods end, and goes out to match the longer barrel length. Thus it weighs a little more than the standard one.
  20. Just ordered the 140 gram frame weight and left side 3D thumb rest. Cannot wait for them to arrive. Hoping to emulate a CZ TS Orange with "*thumb rest [generic]*" without trying to buya gun that is not available over the counter in California.
  21. California DOJ only allows sales of pistols on its roster of safe guns. To get a particular model (model NOT generation) on the roster, the manufacturer must submit a number of each model or variant for extensive safety and drop testing. I believe they also require new submissions after a certain year to have a loaded chamber indicator and a safety mechanism that does not allow the gun to fire if there is no magazine in it. An example of the degree of silliness: the black version of the Sig P226 Mk 25 is approved for sale but NOT the FDE model. That change in color might have an unexpected "impact" on drop testing! So it just gets too expensive to submit so many otherwise sellable new guns for testing. They hope the market will simply dry up, no new guns to sell some day. We cannot get any Glock Gen 4 or 5, Sig P320s, CZ TS Orange, Shadow 2, all sorts of interesting guns, just to mention a few I might covet. If you want one of those, you have to find an exempted person (LEO, some who moved here, someone in Hollywood, which is always exempted), someone who has already gotten the weapon of interest into the state. Then if they don't want it anymore, it is legal to sell by private party transfer with Dealer Record of Sale fees and background check. Of course these are rare as unicorns so the private parties charge way higher than retail for theses desirable purchases. We are also a universal background check state. If I didn't have over 40 years of family, neighbors, work colleagues, shooting friends, church community, paid off house with solar on the roof, etc., I'd be long gone.
  22. Agreed. Gen 3 is the only model approved by the California DOJ for sale in the state. Glock will retain the Gen 3 as long as California remains repressive. Unless of course Glock wants to cut off the largest state from its pool for sales.
  23. A link so others know what we mean by the Vogel grip and some crazy accurate shooting filmed and narrated by Taran Butler at his practice range. As Vogel rolls his left hand forward he puts his left thumb toward the trigger guard whereas mine is more along the dust cover, like thumbs forward. Maybe that deviation from Vogel's grip is why I don't shoot like him?
  24. Thank you. Are you placing your thumb pad on the posterior rising portion of the thumb rest? Or do you reach over and put your thumb pad on the descending forward portion? Maybe a photo would help me understand?
