  1. I'm no expert but I don't think that is how it works.
  2. I started with the stock springs that came in my guard bolt. I don't have a complete factory guard, I built off a bolt/barrel package.
  3. These are the ones I used. I'm not sure if the ejector spring is considered "extra power" but it was longer than the stock spring and tough to compress in the bolt. The extractor spring is an extra power version and it will fit under the extractor without an o-ring but the tension is significantly more than the stock spring. http://www.davidtubb.com/ar15-extractor-ejector
  4. Full auto no but I do run some suppressed.
  5. Yes standard AR bolt and carrier springs. There are several companies that make an extra power version.
  6. I had a couple stoppages due to poor extraction so I swapped my extractor and ejector springs over to extra power versions and change them annually now.
  7. If your changeovers don't include a primer size change (you won't change primer size if you load .223 and 40 cal) the caliber changeover is pretty simple (less than 5 min. after you have done it once). Change the shell plate/case slide, locator pins (9mm and .223 use the same pins), adjust the case insert block, and change the casefeed adapter/body bushing/arm bushing. The caliber change on a 650 is pretty simple and straight forward.
  8. If the bullet will fall into the case there is unlikely the sized case passed a case gage.
  9. You will have to pull the ejector for sure, or chop it off.
  10. It sounds like the brass isn't getting sized down to spec. If he has a case gage have him check a case in the gage after it is sized. He should also check the diameter of the bullets for undersizing.
  11. The stern adapter is set up for glock mags with a blow back bolt. You will most likely have to lower the mag with the guard bolt or it will drag on the mag. The easiest way to do the is to take material off of the top side of the AR mag catch so the entire block sits lower.in the magwell.
  12. Why would someone shoot SS 40 cal minor and give up mag capacity to a 9mm?
  13. I looked at the magpul but the mag release relief looked like it would give up some contact on your week hand grip. I got a generic type polymer grip since I plan to sand down any texture they have, add any mag release cut out I want and then apply silicon carbide to them.
  14. Anyone have issues with hand contact with the Magpul grips due to the large mag release cut out? It looks like they got a little carried away.
  15. In the fine print of same post you referenced.
  16. It is unlikely he is shooting the same lower since his lower was glock mag fed last year and now he is running colt mags.
  17. I'm not overly concerned about how shiny the outside of the case is after wet tumbling since the finished rounds get run for 20-30 min in corn cob and nu-finish. My wet tumbled brass comes out plenty clean enough in cold water, no pins, dawn and a dash of lemi shine after running for 60 min.
  18. On all my powder measures I don't use the linkage. I zip tie the 2 pieces of the bell crank together and use the springs. I much prefer the way the press runs this way and my powder throws are very consistent.
  19. Call dillion and tell them you prefer the springs, they will send you a pair for your powder measurer.
  20. That sounds like a spring issue not a buffer issue.
  21. What effect does the buffer have on extraction? I can see some effect on ejection if it doesn't allow the empty case to strike the ejector but I'm lost on how a buffer could effect extraction. Please explain.
  22. How did you determine it was the blitz buffer causing your issues?
  23. The trick to seating colt mags is A.) download the mags a few rounds so the mag catch window is open at the top B.) Use 20 rd. mags and load them like you would a pistol with the base plate in the palm of your hand. A colt lower gives you lots of options for ambi controls, basically you get any ambi option you would with a multi-cal AR lower.
  24. I stated this way with a 10.5 in upper and a colt conversion block. It served me well but the conversion blocks can be finicky and be unreliable if not set up just right. I have since moved to a dedicated lower since I wanted to use my stamped lower for the original purpose and pulling the block in and out drives most of the reliability issues for the 9mm set-up. Another option would be use endomags on the stamped lower with no conversion block. This is a good option if you aren't interested in competitive matches like USPSA or UML. If you are planning on using the PCC in matches just go ahead and get the dedicated lower, you will end up there eventually.
