  1. Tim Herron aka the nicest guy in competitive shooting http://timherronshooting.com/
  2. That guy is mostly likely posting in the thread already. Jesse say Hi to TimH.
  3. Bingo! If you think you are getting alarms for deviations of tenths of a grain you are fooling yourself. A visual check is all you need to confirm, that is really all the powder check alarm is doing anyway. If you don't want to hover over the press to do a visual check add an endoscope to the press and view it on a tablet or your phone for the visual confirmation on powder level. This can easily be done in the tool head hole used for the powder check rod and these days you can pick up an endoscope for like $20.
  4. You state you have the EGW U-die set as low as it can go, does that mean you have the press set up to cam over at the end of the stroke? If not I would test that and pull several cases off the press after sizing to see if they pass the Hundo gage.
  5. They have jumped in price. This is the best I can find now...... cameralandny.com/shop/Steiner-P4Xi-1-4x24-P3TR-Illuminated-Law-Enforcement-Open-Box/e254c5d0-1cde-0137-39e2-00163ecd2826?variation=1914953&query=Steiner%20p4xi
  6. You can load beyond SAMMI max length with 9mm in metalform colt mags, like 1.20" +. I have run RN profile out to 1.17" without issue.
  7. When I clean my mags I spray the inside of the tube and follower with PTFE, it seems to help. The only time I had all my big stick colt mags quit feeding reliably I had changed bullet profiles, that doesn't seem to be your problem.
  8. If you are addicted to shiney brass with pins try a smaller media. There are some stainless chips available. Dont remember who is selling them but it looks like milling chips.
  9. One of the reasons I stopped using pins. You may try running a rare earth magnet through the brass and catch them.
  10. Ummm what? They released a drop in PCC trigger or they released a replacement hammer for their current drop in triggers on the market? Your post is confusing.
  11. I would also change out the thumb safety, I have seen instances where they break with heavy use.
  12. I have run my pistol holster on the same ELS mount for over 3 years without a single issue. The advantage of using the ELS mount for your pistol holster is when you run an all shotgun stage you can attach shell caddies where your pistol was.
  13. You will probably want to mount the QLS/ELS fork on the topside of a holster hanger and attach the pistol holster to the bottom of the hanger. Most of the holster hangers are made to attach all the mainstream holsters made. There are a few different holster hangers available so do some searching.
  14. If you have the Pro version the standard 15 rd mags will not work due to the magwell. I assume that is why the Pro version comes with 17 rd mags and specific mag base plates.
  15. I had something similar happen to me and when I dove into it I discovered I had some debris in my powder bar. It was small enough to fit into the powder bar but too big to drop through the powder die. It took up space where powder should have been and was moving around so the powder drops kept jumping around. When I emptied my powder hopper I saw it drop back into the jug so I ended up running all the powder in that jug through a sieve to remove it. After my incident occurred I added a funnel/screen to the top of my powder hopper.
  16. Sounds like a barrel break in process, there are plenty of opinions if it is actually effective or not.
  17. Yes I know how an inertia shotgun works, blowback PCC's are not the same thing. You don't need inertia to unlock the bolt of a PCC like an inertia shotgun.
  18. It shouldn't matter where you hold it the gun should cycle even if it is not on your shoulder, arm, hip ect..... He should be able to hold it completely away from his body and it still cycle.
  19. I run a guard barrel and bolt on a AR9 I put together. I have also run a blowback system. The guard has some advantages over a straight blowback gun out of the box with recoil impulse. It also takes out potential ejector problems you see in blowback as well as you won't have to worry about what trigger is compatible since it uses carrier very similar to a standard AR. Another advantage is it uses a DI AR firing pin and I don't know of anyone that has broken one, even with hard hitting triggers. I would suggest you get the complete CMMG guard and tune the buffer system to your shooting style. With the glock mags you have you will probably only need to add a couple big sticks and could use the same mag pouches you have now for glock mags.
  20. Those who are considering this do your fingerprints before you do submit in efile (FYI you will also need to upload a passport photo). ATF's system auto generates the response with the cover letter for fingerprints. If you do them ahead of time you can mail them out the same day you submit your form 1 and it will cut the turnaround time down. The last one I submitted was on at Saturday and still had a turnaround time of 12 calendar days.
  21. It depends on the mag you are running. The point is don't cover the top of the mag catch window, which as said earlier means when the bullets are pointed towards you the top round should be on the right.
  22. I run colt mags and use 20 rd mags for reloads. I can reload the 20 rd mags like a pistol mag and get a good push on the bottom to assure seating. My 20 rd colt mags will actually hold 21 rounds but I download them to 18 so they leave the top of the mag catch window open for a positive lock when seated.
  23. You should never need the BHO in a free state where mag limits do not exist but If you want this function to work use spacers to limit the bolt travel just beyond the catch (1/4"). If the bolt gets a running start it will break the catch easily.
  24. It is a ZIP file you need a means to unzip it to get to the excel formatted file. Your PC should prompt you to find a source to open it and it will take you online to download software to accomplish that task.
