  1. I am seriously considering picking up a blue label G43. The only problem is I have a Kahr PM9 that would be very upset if I replaced it. Anyone have experience with both pistols and would make the switch?
  2. I am not sure if this post is in the right location, but I am in need of some help! Our range opened up some bays to practice action shooting, and althogh it is extremely fun I am running out of room in the car to carry all of my gear and targets to the range. As it stands now, I have 6 8" steel plates with shephards hooks to hold them, a 2/3 size steel IPSC target with h-stand and 2x4, a small folding table, 5 gallon bucket for brass, range bag, etc. etc. I would like to get 2 additional IPSC targets but I don't know how much more I can fit in my civic. Before I go out and buy a truck are there any tips to make gear/stand travel more efficient? Thanks!
  3. I use this as well and it works really well. I wish I could get the same paint in a traditional can though, because I tend to get paint all over myself instead of on the target.
  4. I know ready tactical has one that is supposed to take up less space on the belt. I use their normal mag pouches and I have no problems with 4 on the belt. Bullets out just seems like it would be odd to grab quickly.
  5. I've got both. The Peltors fold smaller, so I keep those in my bag as a spare. ProEars is what I use. The Peltors clip the sound, the amplification isn't even close to the ProEars. Thanks for the info. I will look into those.
  6. I recently picked up a CMMG dedicated .22lr AR to play around the range with. I would like to set it up as a mini-3 gun rifle to play with and was wondering what recommendations you all had. I am not wanting to spend a huge amount of money. I am thinking a Vortex Sparc for optics, but other than that it is a clean canvas.
  7. I use the cabelas brand tumbler that comes in a kit with media and polish. It was on sale and works great!
  8. Another +1 for the 135's! 3.4 of titegroup at 1.135 works great out of the Glock 34.
  9. The one we got from Lowe's wobbles with a bird feeder on it! No way they would hold up to that much abuse. Did they put holes in them for you? It turns out the Home Depot hooks work very well. They have taken several hits with a 9mm and .45 handgun and show no wear at all other than some chipped paint. We did have to cut an inch and a half or so off the end of the hook to fit the targets on.
  10. Are the Peltor Tac Sports worth considering? I am debating if moving up to the >200 dollar range is worth it?
  11. Is the additional retention device mandatory? I would recommend something like the Ready Tactical 3-gun holster. I don't see how you would get a gun to fall out of that thing.
  12. To the rear for production. I really don't like having the overlap and the extra bulk it comes with in my way.
  13. I have a TTI that looks awesome and works fine, but I must admit that I hate dropping the thing. I need to have a friend throw it on the concrete so I stop worrying about the finish on it.
  14. Take one of your normal belts that you wear and measure from the end of the buckle to the hole that you normally use. This should be your measurement for gun belts. I normally wear a 34" pant but my gun belts are 38". I only have experience with wilderness instructor belts and I believe they are sized by the inch number and not s-xxl.
  15. 3.2 of TG at 1.135 worked great in my glock 34, but the 135's shoot even better.
  16. Personally I can't wait for the Magpul to hit the shelves. I plan on picking up at least 10 of them and reloading at the range will be a thing of the past.
  17. 9mm would also allow me to shoot at my steel closer. Are the CMMG decent builds or is it worth stepping up to a JP or something else? I have looked at the circle quarter 10 lowers which would enable my Glock mags to work.
  18. So I am looking into the local 3-gun league and the range only has shots out to 50 yards. I am set up to load 9mm on a Dillon 650 already and I have a .223 AR that would work (14.5'' mid-length LW set up), but I can't decide if it would be easier to pick up a 9mm AR or a quick change kit to reload .223. I figure by the time I get dies, the RT 1200, etc. it will end up about the same cost. If the recommendation is for ar AR what would you pick? I have looked into CMMG or Colt 6951. Thanks!
  19. Just a quick update, two large boxes arrived on the porch yesterday! Aside from opening the brown one to check out the goodies the boxes are sitting on the bench for now. I am moving in the next couple of months and I can't decide if I should set up the press and move it then or just hold off until I move. I have enough ammo loaded up to last me until after the move, but the siren song of the blue press is calling to me.
  20. Check out ReadyTactical, you can find them on CPWSA.com
  21. TTI sights, Vanek trigger, and get rid of the extended slide release. I use the factory barrel shooting Bayou bullets and haven't seen any issues so far.
  22. I'll be placing the order this weekend, thank you again for all of your assistance. Last month I loaded up 2500 rounds on my rock chucker. In case anyone is wondering, that is 10,000 cranks of the lever and about 25 hours invested. That was the straw that broke the camels back, guns were sold and the dillon will be inbound.
  23. Thanks for the info guys. I typically load 3.4gr of Titegroup and a double charge will fit in the case but is very obvious. I really like that light and will add it to the list of things to purchase. Anything else worthwhile to grab while setting up the kit?
  24. Gentlemen, After spending the last year cranking out rounds on a Rock Chucker I have decided it is time to step up to a progressive machine. So far I have made a little over 6k rounds, 5k of those being 9mm which leads me to believe that the Dillon 650 with case feeder will be the best route to take. I just have a couple of questions before I pull the trigger on the order. 1. What is the concensus on the powder check die? I will visually inspect the cases either way but I wouldn't mind the extra set of eyes if you think it is a worthwhile investment. 2. Are the dillon dies worth picking up? I already have a set of Lee dies and am very pleased with the ammo that I make with them. I have read that many use the Lee FCD anyways so if the others work I am fine sticking with them, but if the dillon dies are a huge improvement I will throw them in the cart. 3. Anything else I should add to the order that will make living with this press easier? So far I am planning on the press, case feeder, "as it should be" upgrade, extra primer tubes, spare parts kit, and the cover. Thank you in advance for looking at this thread. I really appreciate being able to absorb such a vast amount of knowledge from you guys!
  25. I just recently ordered targets from arntzen, very happy with the turn around time and the product. Do you guys know of a shephards hook that will hold 8" plates and not dance around too much? The ones from home depot seem a bit thin.
