  1. You lost me at "cover garment", I think you said more after that but the neurons in my brain were so fried that none of it made any sense.
  2. I'm a little confused... you suspect the crimping die but have only cleaned your expanding die, not the crimping die? I think you are going to have to disassemble the crimping die, clean and inspect.
  3. Another trick to try is to slightly loosen the lock ring of the sizing/decapping die so that there is just a little play. Then raise the shell plate so that all positions are engaged. Then tighten the lock ring of the sizing/decapping die.
  4. Just make sure all the curtains are closed. Maybe go inside the coat closet just to be safe.
  5. I've never had a problem swapping P320 strikers back and forth between multiple P320s. However with mass produced components I could certainly see a striker that worked fine with this gun but was marginal with that one.
  6. There is a check in for those who did not sign up online. For the monthly level 1: While we are setting up the MD loads each tablet with all the shooters signed up; he does not know and does not care who did not show up from those who signed up online. 1. All entered shooters are present on all tablets but are not squaded yet. 2. During the shooters meeting the MD announces the total number of shooters, say 40, and then says, "we will divide up into 4 squads of 10 shooters". 3. The shooters self squad. If someone doesn't show then we end up with 2 squads of 10 and two of 9 for example. The MD walks around and makes sure the squads are as balanced as possible. If they are not he asks first for volunteers and then if necessary moves shooters to balance. 4. The most Practiscore knowlegable shooter takes local squad attendance and sets up the squad in that individual squad tablet. The squad number is typically the same as the stage you are starting on or the bay number but it doesn't really matter what you choose. 5. The squad tablet moves with the squad and doesn't "know" about the other squads. It takes about 10 minutes from the end of the shooters meeting to do all that. We have a level 2 sectional coming up that in addition to the online sign up will also have a more formal check in procedure. In this situation all tablets will be set up with all squads prior to the start of shooting and the tablets will stay with their assigned stage.
  7. Is there any significant design differences between the modern classic and the Lockwood slides? I was under the impression that the Lockwood was essentially the same; perhaps slicked up a bit with some nice checkering differences. Not true?
  8. all this talk about "checking in and/or signing in at registration" being a criteria ... at the matches I shoot the majority sign up and pay on Practiscore. When you get to the match there is no check in except for those who didn't sign up on line. When you get to the match you help set up and shoot. Given that scenario... when did I "check in"? When Practiscore sends me a confirmation? When I drive through the gate? There is a huge gray area here and some are wanting to make it black and white. It's just not.
  9. Very true. I am wondering how far some would be willing to go to DQ somebody. Some seem very eager. Hopefully this is far beyond any reasonable boundary.
  10. I would say you are not. You have physically removed yourself from the match. Apparently there are those who do not agree. How about this: You live next to the range and during the break between morning and afternoon sessions you walk over to your house. Are you under the ruleset at that point? Are you going to DQ me if I remove my gun from my holster and give it a quick clean and lube?
  11. So let me get this straight... Let's say I go to a range with a match that uses 6 of the 12 available bays. The match uses bays 1-6 while 7-12 remain available to who ever is a valid user. I enter the match, I'm at the match helping set up. My buddy is over in bay 7 shooting. After set up I go over to bay 7 to shoot the sh!t with him and check out his new blaster. I pop off a couple of rounds with his new toy and then say "hey check out the gun I'm shooting today..." and I pull it out and let him try it out. You are going to DQ me for that? That is ludicrous.
  12. Yes. I would be thrilled to get that result. I might pickup some VV330 at some point, I already use RMR 124 FMJ and 124 MPR/JHP, but I suspect the group has as much to do with the shooter as with the ammo.
  13. Yeah on the rest of the machine it is actually more like wait until it feels sluggish or something malfunctions or I start feeling guilty whichever comes first... lol...
  14. Interesting... the manual recommends every 3,000. I know I lubricate the main shaft at least that often. The rest of the machine I tend to wait a little longer. Probably at least 5k.
  15. Can you borrow a striker assembly from someone with a p320?
  16. I can see that, high B roughly equal IDPA MA... I used to think that a USPSA A was more or less equivalent to an IDPA MA. I still think that is roughly where it's at from a raw technical skills perspective but the IDPA match bump system distorts the relationship.
  17. I have P320 practice mags that I don't clean until I feel way past guilty. Literally thousands of rounds...5k? maybe... The range I typically practice and drop them on is sand and gravel and does not have a "moon dust" problem. I do clean my match mags before the next match but I'm pretty sure I could get away with not doing that for several matches in a row at least. Unless it is the monthly "moon dust" match... lol...I'm more attentive.
  18. This is the USPSA/IPSC shooting forum. You will get more love in the IDPA forum.
  19. Get it together before starting? Of course the more the better but... "fiddle with their dot on the line" is necessary to do on the line; not in a safe area. The safe area will very often give you a different presentation of light and shadow, etc. than the starting position will. You need to know what your dot looks like at the start pos facing downrange; not what it looked like 50 feet away facing in a different direction two minutes ago.
  20. Getting the primer slide indexing arm tuned to the correct height can be challenging. There is a fairly narrow sweet spot. After I do a deep cleaning I can have an occasional problem getting it set back up again.
  21. CO is not 140. CO/Limited/L10/LO is 141.25. That is clearly stated in the rulebook. Do not rely upon a manufacturers advertising to determine the legality of your equipment. The only way to ensure that your mags are legal is to use a USPSA approved mag gauge. And just because your mags are in theory identical to your buddies does not ensure they will pass the gauge just because his did. You can post your mag tube manufacturer and base pad manufacturer and you can get some feedback here as to possible legality/illegality. But if you are going to shoot an upper level match beg/borrow/steal a mag gauge. And you don't get DQ'd if your equipment isn't legal for the division you entered the match as. You just get moved to Open.
  22. I assumed you would not... lol... I assumed that when shooting through the less than 24" port you were automatically in cover even though a fault line was not required. The rule doesn't make sense to me otherwise.
  23. How many rounds through the machine?
