  1. As has been suggested consider just removing the damn thing. If you pay attention to your process then it is redundant. As a newer reloader be especially cautious of the steps you take following an issue which stops your process as that is the point in time where you will likely make a mistake. The safest option is to address the problem, clean off the shell plate, start another run.
  2. I did that for a while and it worked well. I now have the CNC tool head so I run the Redding die over the priming station. I really like that die for a dedicated flaring die.
  3. They are just variations on the theme as opposed to better or worse. For someone starting out, say on an 1100, I'd suggest going with a pretty standard set up to begin with. I think most loaders would consider the following arrangement a reasonably common "baseline" setup for the 1100: Stations.. 1: case feed 2: size/decap 3. swage 4. prime 5. powder 6. bullet feed 7. bullet seat 8. crimp (I realize you are considering not swaging but as has been mentioned if you are not then the 750 might be a better/cheaper option.) Once you've got this general solution up and running you may find that it works just fine. It does for many. I'd wait until I was into the game a little bit more before changing things up.
  4. Probably a number of options... You could have a dedicated decapping die in station 2 and then a dedicated sizing die (no decapper) in the swage station. You could have your normal sizing/decapper in station 2 and put a dedicated expanding/flare die in the swage station. I'm sure somebody will chime in with some others. Setting up your dies is not a one size fits all type of thing. Talk to 10 different people and you'll get multiple variations on how to do it. Just because someone chooses a particular solution does not mean that is the only right way to do it. That is just an option that works for them.
  5. Adjusting the swage rod tip position and associated swaging depth is very easy and is a fundamental part of setting up your swaging process. A couple of open end wrenches... Adjusting the tip so that it doesn't swage at all is therefore also very straightforward. It is also possible to completely remove the swage rod assembly if so desired although that is a bit more involved.
  6. So now we are going to debate whether or not a gun is appropriate for LO/CO based upon if it has an firing pin block or not? I must have missed something...
  7. Pretty cool. They also have some automated presses that make Mk 7's stuff look entry level.
  8. Really. A rulebook should contain primarily objective criteria. Pass/fail, yes/no, etc. To intentionally codify a subjective viewpoint to this extent is ludicrous. It really makes you wonder who thought this was a good idea. Does anybody sanity check this stuff? Apparently not.

    Sig P320 AXG Legion

IDPA just released a new rule set that makes this guns ported in this fashion legal for ESP and CO. Apparently barrels with ports are the new hotness.
  10. I wonder if this is an indication that they will be more pro-active with clarifications in the future. That would be nice.

    Trigger reset issue

There can still be a problem with an over travel screw. If the screw somehow gets screwed in too far then the trigger/trigger bar will not be able to move the sear enough for the sear to trip.

    Trigger reset issue

Is this a new installation or a previous installation that has worked ok in the past?

    Trigger reset issue

Have him check his grip weight. Make sure it is all the way seated. If it drifts up more than a little bit it can interfere with the functioning of the trigger bar and spring enough to cause this effect in an otherwise reliable gun.
  14. I asked my AC (Idaho) as well. Let's hope he gives me the same answer...lol...
  15. Ever since HQ said that if you have a rules question ask your AC. Yeah, it's total BS for sure. That issue alone is worth it's own thread. But it would probably be locked in short order.

Can you even put a grip weight in the AXG grip module?
  17. I don't shoot PCC in either sport so I can't speak from experience or in depth knowledge. I can say that USPSA double belt rigs are considered illegal as it is considered that they don't meet the following requirement: 8.4 Belts may be no wider than 1-3/4 inches or thicker than 5/16 inches and must pass through a minimum of all but two of the pant loops. As far as mag pouch placement there is this from the equipment division appendix: B.1.10 PCC Gear: Shooters may optionally choose to place additional magazines in pouches to carry with them while shooting stages. If they choose to use magazine pouches, them may not place more than 2 on their belt which must be worn behind the hip bone as in pistol divisions. Optionally, shooters may carry magazines in pockets that are below the belt or stowed inside the waistband. Hopefully some IDPA PCC shooters will check in on this.

    Those are both aluminum.
  19. wow, paint with a pretty broad brush much?
  20. Really? Have you even been reading any of the CO/LO threads?
  21. If that were my goal and I was going to shoot Production I'd get a Sig P320 Legion and a bunch of stock 17 round mags. I'd get a decent double belt system and a holster with a drop belt hanger attachment. Buy a bunch of ammo and go shoot. You can get a complete belt/holster/mag pouch set up from Stoeger's Pro Shop. One stop shopping. That rig will get you way far down the road before you find it lacking. If I was going to add one enhancement it would be the Gray Guns Comp trigger kit or The Sig Armorer equivalent. . Rough prices: Sig P320 Legion: $1000 Belt/holster/Pouches: $250 Couple extra mags and pouches: $100/$150 Total: $1400 That's the basic price of admission with brand new gear Edited to add: I'm coming at this from the position of a P320 X5 shooter. You can do more or less the same thing with any of the usual suspects.

I'm wondering if it is just a matter of time before there is a steel P320 grip module.
  23. I'm pretty sure he meant "at the highest level he is himself capable of" and I believe he has already acknowledged that won't be very high.
  24. could be , all my TTI pads are at least 5 years old at this point
  25. All my mags have TTI base pads. Both 17's and 21's. Just took a kiss with a dremel and the rear of the feed lips.
