  1. Is the 45 degree a drop in part for a standard receiver or does it require a specially designed short-throw receiver? They work with any standard lower and the same selector can be used for 45 or 90 depending on how you install it. The markings on the receiver may not line up in 45 degree configuration exactly, that's all.I bought a couple of KE ambi safeties, installed them, and really like them.Excellent safety, glad I saw your thread, and bought some.
  2. This bears repeating. Lots of great smiths, meaning its also important to weigh in just how responsive they are. If it's hard to get a hold of them when they are trying to get your money, just imagine how hard they will be to get a hold of after they have been paid.
  3. I run a 13 lb spring for major (171 PF) and a 10 lb spring for minor (135 PF,).
  4. The Rainier Arms sets also have a tensioning screw.
  5. Bryan the MRO is a single dot similar to a H1 or T1 aimpoint correct? Yes, the MRO is a single 2moa red dot sight like an aimpoint.
  6. Very cool. Thanks for posting this. Its pretty much exactly what I was pondering doing.
  7. I meant cheapest in the context that dsgarms.com had the seekinsprecision ambi at a lower price then seekinsprecision own site. Like you, I buy quality first. I selected the seekinsprecision because everything seekins I have ever owned has been top shelf. They are also major supporters of 3gun here in the northwest and rocky mtn states.
  8. The seekinsprecision ambi can be set up for a 90 degree or 45 degree throw. You can also choose to put the long of short lever on either side. As a lefty, I use this ambi safety, and like it alot. I found dsgarms was the cheapest.
  9. I'm an STR fan myself. Solid stock, has nice platform for cheek rest, and does not wiggle. For the price and quality, I just don't think it can be beat.
  10. Thanks!Fantastic! The recoil impulse is incredible. Was getting 5 shot sub moa groups. Walked it out to 700yds with 77gr match kings yesterday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Did you shoot a 5 shot group at 700 with this rifle? If you didn't, what was the farthest distance you shot a group and what was the accuracy?
  11. Contact precisionfirearms.com and get a bartlien barrel. Top shelf from start to finish.
  12. I'm eager to hear what Savage has to say as well.
  13. This is my exact load. 180 bayous, 4.7 grains of n320, OAL at 1.2 and at area 1 my PF was 171. This is my go to load in my 5 inch akai. Very accurate and in my opinion, soft shooting. Its all I load and shoot. After 30,000 rds of it this year, I might be biased but I love it.
  14. Go with .401. Seriously, go with the .401 and go on in life. No need to slug the barrel or anything else.
  15. This is why armalite should've went with a 16 inch barrel instead of pinning the brake. Now the end user cannot easily switch out brakes, etc. Its one reason I wouldn't buy such an upper. If you really must have a 14 inxh barrel, might as well do a form 1 and sbr it, so you don't have to worry about goofy pins.
  16. The more I read about the prismatic, the more I like it. I think this might be my next sight.
  17. I use pmags. During this last 3 gun season I cracked the feedlips or the backside of 2pmags. I figure it had to do with dropping it or stepping on them. From my experience, the polymers hold up better to dropping, stepping on, and general abuse over the aluminums. Bottom line, mags are a disposable item, even if we live in a political climate where we need them to last forever.
  18. Just a heads up,i was just on midwayusa's site and they have almost all of their streamlight lights on sale. Some are heavily discounted, so if you are in the market, this might be the time.
  19. The best bang for your buck is a streamlight. For a rifle, go with the TLR-1 HPL. You'll be happy and for $175 with tape, you cannot beat it.
  20. Precision armament m4-72 comp.
  21. The MRO looks like it'll be great competition for the aimpoints, especially with a sub $500 price. The only thing aimpoint has at that price point is the M2 and PRO. This could be a great sight on a home defense weapon.
  22. This is exactly what I was looking for. I have been using a red dot, have tried a friends eotech, and am glad to read of others progressions. I think I might swing by the store and see if I can finger a spitfire. You also cannot beat the price point. Thanks for the info.
  23. THanks Mike. I guess my search-fu is weak today.
