  1. The wally world winchesters are awsome in a unmodded Benelli. The remingtons work well also but the patterns seem to have some holes in them. The federals have a crappy crimp and jam on occasion during feeding. Hope this helps. Keep it oiled and shoot it up.
  2. For 223 Ramshot tac, H 322, H 335, and Varget all meter well. The bridging issue with Varget is usually caused by a bit of case lube still in the case neck which causes the powder to stick in the neck. When the ram is lowered the powder dumps all over the press. After I started tumbling my cases to remove all the lube before I loaded them the bridging went away. Varget is hard to beat; especially with heavy bullets.
  3. When you tap the safety through the beavertail and the frame is the beavertail difficult to move through its arc by hand or does it move freely. If the beavertail is binding because it needs a bit of material removed it will be difficult to move when the safety is installed.
  4. A well tuned gas system is the key to getting the remmy to function properly. The only real downside to the remington platform for three gun is the small loading port. It can be opened up a bit which does help. The lifter needs to be extended a bit also to keep your thumb from getting pinched after the loading port has been opened. Shoot me a pm if you want to discuss some of the options with the Remington platform.
  5. It sounds like the disconnector and sear are not timed correctly. It is not a big deal to fix.
  6. I just got two pistols and one AR-15 barrel back from ION Bond. The inside and outside of all three barrels were coated. Looked good too!
  7. I will have one back Wednesday. I have wondered the same thing myself.
  8. The gas adjustment screw on my gasblock backed out while shooting Sunday? As the screw backed out I noticed a huge POI shift. When the screw finally came all the way out the POI shifted over a foot @ 300yds. When I reinstalled the screw and re-zeroed at 100yds everything worked fine again. I never realized how much the POI could shift because of the gas adjustment screw. Has anyone ever shot a group then backed the screw out a turn shot another group? I need to do more testing but if the screw moving a little could cause a POI shift I will probably replace the adjustable gas block with a standard gas block.
  9. Have you ever been to a bad 3-gun match???!! I like my chicken Southern Fried.
  10. My oldest son has been going dove hunting with me since he was three. It is a great time that we both enjoy. This year will be the first year he gets to actually hunt; instead of retrieve. lol!! I don't think I have ever seen him so excited. It is all he has talked about this week. We both cant wait. He is going to have such a great time. It does not matter if he actually hits a bird or not just getting to spend the day with my son doing something we both love to do means a lot to us both.
  11. The short answer is no. The Leupold 1.5 x 5 is not daylight visible unless you shoot it occulded at close range. In the woods in the shade on a cloudy day... Mabye.
  12. Wish you could have found the piece of brass. The one and only one of these I had, with my hand over the ejection port BTW was lit off by the ejector. The primer had a nice rectangle in it that fit perfectly on the extended ejector.
  13. Go to your local big box store and get a set of easy outs. Use the most appropriate one insert it into the case and twist out. the easy out will dig into the soft brass and twist it right out. Last resort is to ream the case out with a chamber reamer. I have never had a separated case that the easy out would not remove though. Good luck.
  14. I have a couple of friends that use the IOR 1X8. Neither of them ever use the scope at 8x. The illumination is not daylight visible but it does work well in low light or woods stages. These scopes were released at the shot show 08 or 09 I cant remember which. The stadia and crosshairs are very similar to the Burris XTR 1x4. The target turrets are a nice feature also; especially if you would rather dial your dope instead of using the stadia lines. The scopes are heavy; but all IOR's are. The magnification is better than 1.5 on the low end. It is very usable with both eyes open for CQB stages. Overall it is a very well designed scope that is very well suited for our game.
  15. Application sent, check sent, registration number 163 on app. Barely made it but i'm sure there are some people on the waiting list that would love to have number 163. See everyone in December. Now it's time to practice.
  16. Does anyone have any bullets I can borrow for the match! LOL!!! Not really.
  17. All I can say is WOW! Who other than the SC match crew including Linda, Jack, Donnie, and their staff could put on such an amazing match year after year. These guys and gals really out do themselves every year. Everyone that missed the match really missed a great one; outstanding stages, an excellent group of RO's and the most talented staff anywhere. Thank you all to everyone that devoted your time energy and efforts to make this match better and better every year. You all always raise the bar for the way a match should be ran. Thanks.
  18. I had a really great time at the match. To everyone that missed this one; David and crew really outdid themselves. I thought last years match was really good, but this year was just awsome. If you enjoy shooting tactical rifles you need to put this match on your short list of matches you must attend. To everyone involved with making this match happen I would like to extend a big thank you for all your hard work. To everyone shooting the match today; enjoy yourselves. Thanks again to everyone for an awsome match.
  19. Just picked up 8lb from a local retailer. I also have 16 lb coming this week from Midway. Woohoo. I got powder. Now all I need are some more small rifle primers and I should be good for the year.

  21. The triggers in the SR9 are very similar to Glocks. The parts are not exactly the same though and will not interchange; been there tried that. The 3.5 lb connector could possibly be made to fit the SR9 though with a little grinding and polishing but there are enough other things you can do to the trigger to improve its pull. I have been really impressed with these pistols but I have not had the time to use one in competition yet. Like someone else in the thread said the grip feels very 1911ish.
