  1. It seems some clubs don't want to pay the fee or take the time to send in the report or just forget. All you can do is complain and/or not shoot there...
  2. Acquaintance recommended practicing 'seeing faster' drills, but did not specify how. Like to know what forum member think about different dry fire drills to improve eye movement ie. seeing faster. Thanks...
  3. Tried red but it seems to 'flare' with my eyes, so I switched to green. Is there a difference between brands of replacement rods with regards to longevity and other 'qualities' ? Been using Brownells brand, looking for info/comparison on others. Thanks...
  4. Softer bullets such as lead/lead coated seal better going down the barrel, hence more speed for the same powder charge. FMJ are also slower than plated.
  5. Steve, claydot is equal clays as stated above. I find claydot a 'tad' bit softer recoil. A fellow shooter who has been reloading for many years prefers claydot because of the so called pressure spikes with clays in 180gr. FMJ .40 loads, something to do with powder compression. Since I use 200gr Blue bullets I would not be affected. 3.7 gr. claydot/clays brings 168+PF. E3 is slightly harsher recoil and needs anywhere from a tenth to a half tenth LESS for the same FPS. As usual depends on bullet weight, barrel, etc. etc. When I switched to 40 major everyone swore by Vit N320, in my not so perfect opinion it is harsher recoil than either clay/claydot/E3.
  6. How often do most of you change this spring? Still have new one in my SV sight tracker for about 3k rounds.

    CZ holster

    Thanks that clears everything up.............

    CZ holster

So if I understand all of this. Get the Boss (metal hanger) then either a Bladetech or Comp-Tac OR Boss holster ?????

    CZ holster

Quack, little confused, see you have the BOSS thumb screws but could you explain the BOSS hanger?

    CZ holster

What is the best holster for new CZ Accu-shadow for Production USPSA use....
  11. If its a MIM part then metal failure is probable, however when one side broke it stressed the other and then that broke right away. What was your round count?
  12. Had this happen to a 1911 gun with over 20k rounds. However, depending on round count just replacing the link is not going to solve the issue, the whole gun needs to be checked as stated above.

    Grip Preference

Very nice, with my grip I need the backstrap and the back edges of the grips, I guess I'll have to make my own. Does the tape stick over the checkering on the backstrap OK ? Also what kind/brand tape did you use? Thanks....

    Grip Preference

Does anyone make a 'grip tape' cut properly to fit stock accu-shadow grips?
  15. Maybe the lead core is softer allowing for a better seal. What about accuracy?
  16. Has anyone tried a 'regular' 12lb recoil spring AND a Wolf 12lb variable? Would appreciate your input. Gun is an .40 SV 5.4 sight tracker.
  17. Roy helped me with my 5.4 sight tracker, could not imagine shooting anything else, scores improved by 5-10% after 1 month practice.
  18. My new SV sight tracker came with a smaller safety on one side, now I know why...
  19. Probably hammer, sear and the rest of the fire control system including springs if it has a high round count, have a good gunsmith look at it ..
  20. Now we are getting somewhere 'BALANCE' of the gun. My friends gun was not nose heavy and felt very balanced. Also personal preference and how you are physically, enters into the equation as stated by one of the responses. Where the weight is seems to be the key to this post. Super squad preferences are going to vary from the AVERAGE shooter. If you are close to that level then you should be paying attention to what they are using AND how they run a stage. When I competed in other sports the very top guys always had different setups. Thanks to all who responded.
  21. Just how heavy is the average open gun ?
  22. Agree with everything said, but what USPSA class do you shoot?
  23. Friend of mine has an older sv 40 cal. with a tungsten guide rod, gun weighs 48oz.+, shoots very soft with major loads. Interested in hearing others who like/dislike heavy guns and WHY. We are both C/B USPSA shooters. A+ shooters would probably like somewhat lighter guns for faster transitions and draws. Heavy guns tend to slow transitions down but what seems to be the max. weight if any.
  24. Friend of mine did that and he went back to stock recoil master. Said it felt better, sight tracked better. better recoil impulse. They (recoil master) are much more reliable/improved now than they were 5-10 years ago.
