could be, not sure what exactly happened. just know the primer ended up under the safety. ya, lots of moving parts and things going quickly.

So, I was out at the range shooting my M4. I had the range to myself, so the drills I was running were going pretty fast. After about 30-40 min of shooting after I finished one of my drills I went to put the rifle back on safe, but it would not go. I flicked it back to fire, operated fine. Same with full auto, but it wouldn't go on safe. So i dropped the mag and cleared the rifle, pulled the take down pin to have a look. nothing out of place. nothing broken that I can see. So I took it over to one of the Bravos to get a punch to start breaking it down. first we pulled the auto sear to see if that was in the way some how. Nope, sill wouldn't go to safe. so we pulled the trigger and then the safety. As we get the trigger out and roll the safety out, a spend primer, yes primer falls out. I guess running 8-10 mags in relatively fast order had heated the rifle up to the point where the brass was expanding enough to loosen the primer pocket. And on extraction and ejection the primer fell out and got wedged under the safety. pretty interesting, as I had not see that particular failure before. just figured I would share

I did the upgrade on my shield. much better than stock. more take up than i would like, but its still worlds better. I put the ameriglo std 3 dot night sites on it and they rock. very bright and it matched up poa/poi for my 40 load. looking at getting the trigger as it wasn't avail when i got the kit

I have an infinity tube with TTI 4G pad and TTI spring and follower. getting 21+1 to start. newer mag, and as it breaks in, i will be able to reload them as well with 21

well, the same could be said pulling the trigger on a closed slide not realizing its empty.

i wouldn't worry about it siting for 2 years. not a prob, but 10% off seems a little low for a gun thats been sitting for 2 years, even if it was perfect. so if its got flaws, i would need more than 10%

I have one and changed the spring due to the comb i am running. changing the spring is a little bit of an effort, but not too bad. the little 3mm allen screw is red locktited in and has to be heated to be removed. so, you push the spring down, lock it in the vice and "heat it till it smokes" (direct quote from the guys at JP) then remove the allen bolt. let it cool then carefully release the vice, remove the spring. install the new spring. compress it in the vice, intall the allen with locktite. good to go. its a great piece of gear. one other tip from the guys at JP. DO NOT run the normal buffer catch as it will make removal of the SCS very difficult. plus its better to have positive pressure at all times on the BCG from the SCS. if the spacing is off, use quarters inserted before you put the SCS system in the buffer tube. again there should not be any space between the SCS and the BCG with the bolt in battery. if there is, you might not always get good bolt lock up

not sure i agree with the physics and cyclic speed you guys are talking about. I think that a long stroked slide would have the same cyclic rate and less muzzle flip. here are the reasons. with the given recoil energy when the slide comes back and hits its aft most travel, that energy that is still pushing the slide aft now is pushing the entire gun aft, including the frame. now this should create more muzzle flip (this of course would be shooter dependent). as far as speed goes, the same thing applies. as the slide travels aft and hits the stop and still has energy to give to go further aft the slide will still move "aft" but now as part of the gun. so i would think this is that "stronger impulse". the slide is "paused" for a "moment" as that energy is dissipated and then starts its movement forward. in a long stroked gun more of the energy is absorbed by the recoil system of the gun (spring) and travels in a linear fashion aft along the rails. when and if it hits the stops, less energy will be present to "flip" the entire gun (slide and frame). so, i think the long stroke should be at least as fast and softer, with less actual muzzle flip. as far as what the sight appear to do, still pondering this one. its kinda the opposite of the sight tracker guns with the sight not moving at all aft. the slide is coming aft further, but in a linear fashion. there for closer to the point of rotation (your hands/wrist area). So the perceived movement of the sights would probably be shooter dependent and more to do with grip and point of rotation. I just ordered Lesgars old gun from Akai, so I will be able to check it out here next week. those are the reasons I thought advantageous for the long stroke option anyway

I know ZEV does machine work. on the slide for sights and cuts to lighten the slide as well.

triple aught design stuff is nice. i do like the 5.11 stryke pants, which have a different pocket config compared to the std 5.11 pants. also, the la police gear brand pants are very nice, and cheap. they have some on clearance with the lower leg pockets. sizes are a little more limited now, but if they have your size they are cheap. the fit is pretty true to size. la police gear also has some blem stryke pants. i got a pair and can't find any issues with them, so they were a much better deal then the full price version

next sunday there is a 2 gun shoot in st Augustine (ancient city shooting range - just off of rt 16 by the outlets). you could come down and shoot the uspsa match on sat, then hang out with the husband in st augustine for the evening (nice area) and check out the 2 gun stuff on sun morn. plus lots of places to golf for him on sat or sun if he doesn't want to hang out at the range. bunch of friendly guys and gals shooting there to help you out and let you test drive some equipment.
