  1. Dillon thanks for the info. I tried another batch of used range brass and had no problem at all.. guess someone at the range has a sloppy chamber.
  2. Thanks for the hints. I am starting to think that it might be some random brass that is quite buldged.
  3. Could someone help me sort out the following problem please. Press setup: Dillon 650 with case feeder (stock.. no NASA space program parts) Dillon Carbide pistol die set Magtech CBC brass 9mm In station one the Sizing/Depriming sometimes deformes the brass on one side of it creating a sharp ridge close to the base of the case (see pictures). This happens roughly on 1/5 or 1/10 cases. I have cleaned and inspected the press and still have the same issue. It is not happening on one specific slot on the shell plate, it is random. Could it just be that the die is set a little bit too low/deep? What am I doing wrong and how could I fix it? Shadow 2 grips

Yes, the hump was an issue for me. I have somewhat small hands but still a quite high grip. This means that the palm swell is a little to low for me and the upper hump is in the way of my "main grip zone". The thicker bogies work really well for me when it comes to grip and filling up the majority of my hands and the grip is really solid. I do however have to flip the gun in my hand when activating the mag release. I've also tried to mix and match with a combination of thick bogies on the left and normal "thinner" bogies on the right side. Easy to manipulate all buttons and levers but less traction on the gun... currently for the past year I have been using the thick bogies since they do give me the best recoil control.. but but never say never I might go back to mixed pairs.

    CZ SP01 recoil spring

I've used a 9# recoil spring with a 13# main spring with 145grain 128-130pf loads. Really liking how it behaves. Got to make sure to change the recoil spring regularly otherwise you will face FTF when it gets too weak.

    Shadow 2 grips

These are the ones I've been trying out on an old SP-01 Shadow I've liked the thick bogies the most of them. The thick bogies require "custom" order by mail to Jayson at LOK Grips.
  7. I assume that it does not "reset" in SA, or does it? Too little room between the trigger bar and the face of the disconnector not allowing the trigger bar to move far enough forward to engage the sear leg?

  9. Or these maybe: http://www.czub.cz/en/eu-eshop/pistole/zasobniky/dna-zasobniku/alu-dno-17r-zasobniku-do-trychtyre-cz-shadow-2-cerne.html Just out of curiosity does USPSA have a production division BOX? (Personally only shooting IPSC)

    Cz shadow 2 magwell

http://www.czub.cz/en/eu-eshop/pistole/zasobniky/navadece-zasobniku/trychtyr-cz-shadow-2-fialovy.html Cz webshop. They have both magwells and basepads to fit with it.
  11. Magazine release is interchangeable between SP-01 and Shadow 2 if you have fat grips the button might touch the grips. otherwise a normal SP-01 release that is a little bit shortened, drilled & tapped then added button and pin.

    Shadow 2

I ask because I want to learn more. I use LOS 145 grains roundnose bullets set to OAL 29 mm no feeding issues with that one. Do you get unreliable feeding if loading 1 or 2 mm shorter? One competitor that I know owns both a regular Shadow and a Orange Shadow. He had to shorten the OAL a tad when using the Orange. but he didn't notice any reliability issue due to that.

    Shadow 2

A simple question, why is everyone so eager to ream the chamber on the CZs why not load to SAAMI spec lengths?
  14. there's also these ones as alternative: CZ UB +2 (or +3 in factory 18 rnd mags) aluminium pads CZ UB thin aluminium pads.
  15. I have tried 3 different types of Boogies grips from LOKGrips (Jayson) There is one for almost every hand size (you can always custom order ). I've tried the following: Regular Boogies (flat no palm swell) Palm swell Boogies (thick and curved/arced), the upper hump did not work with my style of gripping the gun (high grip) Based on regular Boogies thick version (flat no palm swell, thicker overall, grip texture wrapped around).
  16. Does any one of you guys and girls have any idea how to make a reliable and bomb proof swinging target array as pictured below. The 2 targets should swing together "attached to the same swing".
  17. Now I've shot the match with the gun after maintenance. I replaced, recoil-, trigger-, sear- & magazine (+10%) springs. I also managed to get the trigger not to reset fully all the time prior to the trigger return spring change. It was extremely worn and light. Now I've shot a couple of matches with it and it runs great. The main contributor to the FTF issue where the mag springs.
  18. Thanks for the reply. I've now changed recoil spring. The mag was newly cleaned prior to shooting. I will order some +10% mag springs and hope it works.
  19. Can you guys please help me diagnose my Failure to Feed issue that I witnessed today during practice. The rim of the case did not rise up and under the extractor. I shot roughly 150 rounds prior to failure and another 200 after it without any failure what so ever. Gun was thoroughly cleaned and extractor w. spring was replaced prior to the practice. I changed the extractor since during my last match I got a failure to eject and also during an recent practice. Facts, CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow 11 lbs recoil spring (CZUB) used for ~10k 13 lbs main spring same usage New extractor & spring (changed before practice) Regular SP-01 18rd mags with springs that have been used for ~15k Chamber is nice and shiny. Factory ammo. The new extractor does not bind or feel rough during the loading action, not even if I slowly assist the slide forward when loading. Everything is smooth. Can it be that the mag springs are getting old? Can it be that the recoil spring is getting old? Can the extractor be sitting to shallow, need to remove some material from the extractor "depth pad"? Combination of above? I do not think that I bumped the slide stop lever, this might induce problems during slide reciprocation. I've had problems with that earlier due to really high support hand grip. The attached picture of the recoils spring is old vs new (11 lbs czub).
  20. My Shadow with new thicker brass grips in retro look. CZUB OEM grips.
  21. The following is one possible cause. Hammer and/or sear contact surfaces have worn enough for the hammer to slip from fully cocked to the safety notch position. This can happen if the trigger stop screw is set to tight, causing the sear to rotate too little in relation to hammer travel. With the trigger pulled all the way back try to move the hammer in and out to feel for even the slightest rubbing against the sear edge.
  22. This is at least in IPSC a big NO! It has to be the OEM barrel not CZ Custom made barrel regardless of length.
  23. Hi, I need help I cannot figure out how to remove the extractor on a Benelli Supernova. How do you guys do it? Thanks
  24. I clean with Ed's Red every now and then and lube with motor oil an atf oil. Depending on mu mood... Many both production and open class shooters use the same in my local club.
  25. I thought I would share the CZ 75 (pre armorer's manual that I've found. There is some useful information there in case one wants to do some gunsmithing by themselves. Click the DB link. https://www.dropbox.com/s/yphvmphe1e09w6y/cz_75_armourer_manual.pdf?dl=0
