  1. AGI sells a machine shop course by Darrell Holland: http://www.americangunsmith.com/allitems.php?page=8 Has anyone here seen it? Is it any good? Thanks.
  2. tk4, I think you'll be fine unless you run into a match director that interprets what you're about to do as slide lightening.
  3. Gregg, have you been to any past S&W Winter Championships? The S&W Winter Championship obtained Nationals 'status' long before it was officially given to them.
  4. Welcome to the forum Bill!! As long as Donnie isn't shooting CDP, I'll be there to cheer him on to another National Championship Victory!!!!!!!!! We'll see you guys in February. Chris
  5. He just tells America how it's gonna be.....

  8. Holy XXXX! I can't believe it!! 96% said YES..........
  9. Erucolindon, Are you using mixed headstamp brass? If all of your dies, shellplate and Redding are set correctly, the only thing I can think of is that different brands of brass can affect your OAL. Hope that helps. Good luck. If you figure it out, please post it here. I'd like to hear about it. Chris Martin
  10. I wasn't planning to buy a mill until after I finished a machinist course at a local community college, but I found this mill three hours from my house (Thanks to a link Matt Cheely gave me over a year ago). Is this a good deal? I talked to Dave Manson a couple years ago about a Bridgeport and was under the asssumption that around $4500 for a good used mill would be a fair deal. Should I hold out, spend the extra money and buy a CNC mill. Here are the details: Bridgeport 9" x 42" Vertical Milling Machine Model: Series I Table size - 9" x 42" Spindle speeds, variable - 60 - 4200 RPM Spindle taper - 30 Longitudinal travel - 27" Cross travel - 13" Knee travel - 14" Quill travel - 5" Motor - 1.5 HP / 1730 RPM Volts - 220 / 440 volts Phase - 3 Cycles - 60 Amps - 4.4 / 2.2 Approximate dimensions - 57" x 58" x 82" high Approximate weight - 2,750 lbs. Features: 2-axis digital readout Bijur lubrication system Variable speed Collet set 6" vise Stock Number: - 11773 - Price: $5,450
  11. Briley Custom sells an aluminum FLGR. I think it was around $40 bucks. Smith & Alexander does make and sell an aluminum mainspring housing / magwell combo. I know because I have one. I'm not too impressed with it though because you can't modify it without taking off the anondized coating. Supposedly, once you take off that coating, it can't be replaced. The magwell basically turns into "bubble gum" (which is a direct quote from Smith and Alexander). I'm not sure how much weight a pair of aluminum grips will save, but I've been thinking about that as well. I've also considering having the inside of my 1911 slide milled creatively to save some weight.
  12. I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I heard a rumor that Clark Custom can salvage a slide by putting a bushing on the breechface- similar to what S&W does with their revolvers. Is there any truth to that Reneet?
  13. This is great news! I figured those xxxxxxxx judges would have wussed out on us.
  14. YOU MEAN THE ONES YOU KEEP SENDING ME!!!!! I swear those are the only ones I have. Thanks again everyone for the help.
  15. Thanks guys. I feel a lot better now. I have no idea what an LAN or WLAN is. It's just my home PC. It seems weird that mediacom would tell me that someone was trying to access my computer when it was them that was doing it?????
  16. I have no idea why anyone would want to get 'into' my computer, but someone has been trying to hack into my computer. At least four times in the past month, somone(s) from the following addresses has tried to gain access to my computer over the internet: 12.210.85.194 (UDP Port 1026) from 218.10.137.142 (Port 46836) 255.255.255.255 (UDP Port 67) from 0.0.0.0 (Port 68) 255.255.255.255 (UDP Port 68) from 10.17.36.1 (Port 67) I have Mediacom and a firewall included in the deal. It tells me when this is happening. Supposedly it blocks any attemtps to my computer, but after running an anti-virus program tonight, I found a virus and spyware on my computer. I really want to find out who is trying to hijack my comptuer. I appreciate any help you guys can give me.
  17. Could someone please post a link to another forum that is discussing this issue so I can keep reading about it after this thread gets shut down.
  18. Of course we have to abide by Brian's rules.... All I'm asking is that Brian reconsider. This thread is political, and it's the longest running political thread I have ever seen on this forum. This thread is proof that we can discuss a political issue and be civil at the same time. Shred, Shooting is worldwide- so is politics. I would love to hear the opinions of our non-USA members.
  19. You're right!! I wouldn't sell my primary competitoin gun for twice what it's worth- let alone put it on the line to win a $400 dollar glock to teach its owner a lesson.
