  1. Shoot one of the matches on an all day schedule (Thursday or Friday) and then fly into the other match and shoot the 1/2 day format. Best of both worlds= win/win. Tongue meet cheek..... But that IS an option....
  2. Thanks for the information. I called Rudy earlier today and they told me the frames were identical, but the lenses were indeed smaller on the Rydon II's (just like you said).
  3. Are the Rydon and Rydon II frames the same? Is the only difference between these two in the size of the lens? Are the lenses interchangeable between the Rydon and Rydon II's?
  4. I may venture out for this match. It would be my first time out there.
  5. I'd be willing to bet I shot my first USPSA match with a 4.25" Kimber 1911. I shot IDPA 8 years before that and I haven't a clue what I used back then.
  6. I clicked on that link, but I'm unable to understand the writing.... any help? Try this: http://2014.extremeeuroopen.eu/ Thanks Chuck! Now THAT I can read...
  7. I clicked on that link, but I'm unable to understand the writing.... any help?
  8. Production.... preparing for the World shoot.
  9. As most of us know, Eric G is known for shooting in two divisions: open and production. Hard to speculate how Eric would do in other divisions. I'm sure he would be competitive but who knows exactly how he would fare? In open, the consistent 2nd place guy is the one and only Max M who actually beat Eric G back a couple years ago at the Florida Open. I was there to witness that battle. It was something to see. I production, the consistent 2nd place guy is the one and only Ben S. Hard to say that Ben isn't the clear #2 to Eric in that division. My point in this is it is really difficult to compare TGO or Dave or Nils to Eric if they don't compete directly with each other. I wish we could have seen a younger TGO go up against Eric. That would have been an epic battle between those two guys. If Nils could focus on shooting matches as a full time job, I'd bet he could potentially build a legacy similar to what TGO has.
  10. Not sure if WST is temperature sensitive, but if it is, I'd go up to 4.5-4.6 and call it good. Why beat your pistol up if you don't have to at 175PF? Try to stay around the 170-171 PF as it is the best of both worlds.
  11. Living in Minnesota, we have more than our share of cold weather shooting. Just a couple of my observations during extreme cold <10: I use only FP10 gun oil on my handguns when it gets really cold. Even some full synthetic oils (Militec etc) are too thick when it gets REALLY cold. More importantly, I experienced more magazine related issues than what I expected. Leaving a loaded magazine on the belt between stages proved disastrous as the magazines just wouldn't work in the extreme cold. I found that keeping the magazines in an inside jacket pocket with hand warmers keeps the magazine warm enough to give you a fighting chance to work for the stage.
  12. I love watching vintage matches like this one. Angus was SKINNY back then!
  13. I didn't have much video of me this year, but this was one from the Minnesota sectional in August 2013. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=UpX4_WOQUzk Not sure how to get the video to play on here without the link... help?
  14. And that was the answer I was wanting to hear. Thank you. By the way, what size accuracy groups were you getting at 25 yards with the 3 pistols? Just curious.
  15. BeerBaron, Thank you for your input! It just so happens that I started looking at the Tangfo line of pistols after the IPSC nationals. I currently shoot a 39oz 2011 Grundhauser gunworks custom in standard division. I absolutely LOVE his pistols as they are extremely tight and super accurate (2" off hand at 50M accurate...no joke). To me, accuracy is king and that alone will give you the confidence in your abilities. A very accurate pistol takes away any doubt that you can make a tough shot with no shoots hanging all over the shoot target, or hard cover, or...well, you get the idea. So, I'm wondering if there is much of an accuracy difference between these 3 pistols at 50M? The stock 2 has the coned barrel (like you mentioned), but the stock 3 has a longer site radius, as does the SP01. I do have a question for you (or anyone else on the forum). In the research I have been doing on these Tangfo pistols, I am a bit confused on small frame vs large frame. I hear mixed reports that there are no external dimension differences in the two. Is that correct or??? Some say there is, some say there is not. Either way, I plan on removing the stock grips (either Stock 2 or Stock 3) and installing the Grauffel grips.
  16. Unless you live 9 hours away…. I'm actually about 10hrs away, and I still like the location for the match. Good people, great scenery and lots of grass.
  17. CODE RED FIREARMS out of Hialeah Florida in particular. I am an FFL here in Minnesota. I was looking to buy a small amount of AR15 stripped lowers, so at the height of the mass hysteria after the New Town, CT massacre, On February 1, 2013 I placed an order with a "MR. Gonzalez" from Code Red Firearms for ten AR15 lowers. This business seemed legitimate as I did some research on them before I sent them my $1,200.00 for the lowers (Postal Money Order). At the time, the ETA for the lowers was about 12 weeks. Well, 12 weeks came and went a LONG time ago. I have called them about 60 times and emailed them just as many. I continually get ignored. No calls back. Their moto is "GET STUNG"..... Looks like I did. Does anyone else have any experience with CODE RED FIREARMS? Do you have any additional contacts that I could maybe try calling. I have NEVER had a bad experience with anyone in this industry. I have a really hard time thinking some _S_hole out there would intentionally rip off a fellow FFL or 2nd Amendment loving USA citizen for that matter in the height of all the attacks we have been fighting off over the last 1.5 years. Hey CODE RED, just send me my damn uppers I paid for and it'll all be good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. I am REALLY happy you posted this. I have a Stock II coming in a few weeks and I ordered the silver EG grips. That has since been changed out to black. Thanks for posting!
  19. To offer up some help, I'll be down there sometime tomorrow and I won't have much to do on Friday as I shoot Sat/Sun AM. Let me know if you need help running your cameras on Friday.
  20. Well thank you for the compliment. Those cuts are actually my design. It's a 3 layer process that works very well for unloaded starts.
  21. No problem, I'll be at the Pine Island points match today and I hope to make the Oakdale shoot next Thursday as well. Hope to see you then.
  22. This is what my Grundhauser gunworks 5" limited/standard pistol looks like. Click on it for a bigger view.
  23. Finally added pictures. Took me a while to put the pages back into the magazine.....
  24. It sure is hard to believe. Good news is I'll be there tomorrow night with Rat, so track me down and check it out! Hope to see you then. I promise to take pictures and post them ASAP. I know it stinks to not see it....
