  1. They do?! I thought kids played airsoft in the woods and shot them at each other. I didn't realize they could even put a hole in paper.
  2. ooooo, I didn't even notice that. I thought there was a thread somewhere that said someone had evidence that 500 of the sight tracker barrels have been made/sold.
  3. How do they do scoring at airsoft matches? How do they know if you get hits?
  4. Yes, definitely amazing work there.
  5. Here's mine. It hasn't arrived yet, and this is a bad pic, but you get the idea.
  6. The gun I just bought came with 4 modified pro mags - arrendondo base pads with grams interanls 20+1...the 3 with stock base pads are 18+1. Not sure about EGW.
  7. I didn't mean to actually shoot from on top of the barrel, just that I don't see it anywhere in the rules that say your muzzle has to be below the level of the top of the barrel, when shooting from the side.
  8. I don't shoot that many matches a year and can't commit to going to all the events or I would.
  9. I'm a relatively new to USPSA although have shot a good amount of IDPA in the past. I finally shot my fourth and 5th classifiers this year after shooting my first three about 3 years ago. I have three solid C scores and one stinker, so my first classification was D. Shot another match November 2nd that should be good enough to move up, but the scores haven't been posted to the club site yet and the USPSA classifier run was done today and they don't have it on record. It's not really a big deal, but just annoying when I was expecting to move up a bit. Hopefully the special classifier match I shoot this Sunday gets posted faster, but then I have to wait a month again for USPSA to run the scores. argggg
  10. Don't swerve, hit the brakes, but if an impact is inevitable, let off the brakes so the front of the car hits him square, and he doesn't slide up your hood and take your head off. Note: Does not work with Moose, as seen above.
  11. The Classifier COF says shoot around either side, but a SO running me through the stage was saying that since it was low cover, that the gun had to be below the top of the barrel. I've never heard that before, does that sound right?
  12. Ah, now I remember how to do this. I have had the extractor out before, but it was probably 3 years ago before I "retired" from shooting. The gun now seems smoother when going into battery but still hitches a little bit when stripping the rounds, and still had a few FTF while just dropping the slide using the slide release last night during testing. I'm going to try running it with the 15 pound spring and then get a 14 pounder and see how I like the feel. Going into battery with the 15 # just feel so much more solid and reliable, I'd rather keep it like that to get the reliability back. edit: Just read this article http://www.brazoscustom.com/magart/0609.htm, and my extractor definitely is not nice and smoothly radiused like this. Time to break out the file?
  13. Thanks G-man. I will try that. I've had the firing pin out before, didn't realize the extractor pulls out like that. Nothing changed except mag and recoil springs Merlin.
  14. Under the extractor claw is clean, not sure about the tunnel. I've never taken it out...not even sure how.
  15. I have a Para 16.40 that I've been using for a while. This gun has been pretty much flawless, as long as I keep it reasonably clean. The only jams I've had was in a class after shooting 1000+ rounds in a day. I put it away for about three years and didn't plan any gun games for a while. Fast forward to the last few months. The gun is back in action but will occasionally fail to feed. I figured it was time to replace the springs anyway so I got all new mag springs and a 12.5 # recoil spring to replace the possibly worn 12 # Wolff spring. It still has the occasional FTF issues and will not strip the first round when using the slide release on three of my mags (important since I play IDPA as well) I switched to a 15# spring and all is well again, although I like shooting it better with the light spring. All of the metal contact surfaces look fresh to me, and the gun cycles smoothly, if a little loose. What could be the culprit? Is there anything I could check myself that could be out of whack?
  16. I'm hoping I just had an off day, or maybe my rear sight needs adjusting. I had an IDPA classifier match yesterday, and I ended up shooting a nice group, about 5 inches low on all of the long range targets. This is with the .185 front sight from Dawson. That's what I get for changing parts and not testing before a match.
  17. .185 if you have the adjustable rear, .150 if not. This is according to what Dawson sells for the Para.
  18. I just went to a .125 front from a .100. I like it better. I feel like the skinny sight "swims" in the rear notch too much and it's hard to tell when it is exactly centered. With the .125, there is just a bit of light on either side.
  19. As far as being worried about dropping a barney mag and getting a penalty, my two solutions are -Load 1 round in your barney mag. If you drop it during the stage, it doesn't matter -Load 11 rounds in your first mag (if possible with your gun) instead of fiddling with a barney when you start. Have I been doing this illegally all this time?
  20. I see most people shot it near to far. Wasn't there another thread somewhere stating that far to near is almost always faster in all situations?
  21. I got one two weeks ago and also have not shot it yet. I don't find the trigger to be that horrible. It's long and moderately heavy, but pretty smooth through the pull.
  22. Enough people make sights for the Para that having the slide milled out for another dovetail doesn't gain you anything.
  23. My Para will eat anything. I don't reload and feed it whatever and it has only ever jammed when I've fired close to 1000 rounds in a day without cleaning it first (and it had a weak recoil spring). I've been shooting Georgia Arms factory reloads and I like them. Where can you buy Atlanta Arms reloads? You can't seem to get it direct from their website.
