  1. I think it's easier to go left to right when shooting left handed. Also, if you have a problem seating mags when they are stuffed full, and you're shooting a classifier with only 6 shots, no need to load the mag to full capacity.

I'm sending my Caspian out to EGW for some work and think I'm going with this finish as well. Has anyone else had it done? Is it similar to IonBond?
  3. It's a Microtech Tachyon.
  4. Gun has long since been sold, but I still have the knife.
  5. ok, thanks for the info. Gun is going off to EGW next week for some TLC!
  6. 20 in my Para mags with Dawson base pads, 18 in the mags with Arrendondo pads. 20 in my Caspian mags with Arrendondo pads, 18 with the stock Caspian pads.
  7. This is a great thread. I'm a C shooter, but have a good amount of tanked classifiers, and my match results suggest maybe I could be classed higher but when the time comes to shoot a classifier I stiffen up and blow it. I shall contemplate this thread before my next match. Today's Maku Mozo is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. When you're betting for stones in an archery contest, you shoot with skill. When you're betting for fancy belt buckles, you worry about your aim. And when you're betting for real gold, you're a nervous wreck. Your skill is the same in all three cases - but because one prize means more to you than another, you let outside concerns weigh on your mind. He who looks too hard at the outside gets clumsy on the inside. -Chuang Tzu
  8. You could probably buy a trigger blank and have it pinned to your existing trigger bow. I'm in a similar situation...not too many places seem to make Caspian triggers.
  9. I don't know why people say this. Would you rather improve and get better as a shooter, or win trophies against poor competition? I'm not classified very high in either sport, but I wish I was. My match scores are better than my classifier scores, and beating other C and Sharpshooter classed shooters doesn't really feel like an accomplishment to me.
  10. This is my dryfire practice target (and range target too!). I need to get me an airsoft. http://www.toptonfga.org/IPSC/Targets/Shoot_Target.jpg
  11. Combofix is a tool specifically made to fix this bug. I do like Superantispyware and Spyware Doctor also, but neither will remove Vundo on their own.
  12. The barrel in my 6" gun is toast and needs to be replaced. I'd love to put a sight tracker type barrel in, does anyone have any further details about pending legality for Limited?
  13. Tell her you have a hard time holding a fishing rod then
  14. I have the CR Speed pouches and lost/threw out the shims many moons ago because I didn't need them with my fat Para mags. I could use them now because the Caspian mags would fall right out without them. I put a few pieces of cardboard behind the Para shim and put a hole in it and the screw right through it. It works just fine as a poor man's spacer.
  15. I just got my first press and a 6" limited gun, so I'm not really the authority on what load to use, but I'm using 4.2gr of vv n320 and a 180gr jhp in my last few practices and it shoots great. It is probably a few grains of powder short of making major though.
  16. oops, you'd think I'd try them first. I'm shooting 180 Zero jhps now, which seem to be sold out. Thanks
  17. Is anyone making a 200 or 220 gr .40 bullet? The Heavy Lead thread is making me want to try some, but I can't shoot lead at my indoor practice range or local indoor monthly matches. Thanks!
  18. Thanks guys. Looks like I will have the barrel replaced when I send it out to EGW for trigger work.
  19. It's a Canyon Creek gun, but not sure if this is the original barrel in the build or not. I assume it is. I had been using my Para barrel as a chamber checker, when I take the Caspian apart tonight I'll have to see how a loaded round looks in there. Maybe someone went nuts cutting the barrel ramp and left the chamber too unsupported. The gun runs like butter though, I'd hate to have to change it but looks like that may be in the cards.
  20. Those aren't from a Glock! They are from my 6" Caspian with Nowlin barrel. The gun is going to EGW next month for some trigger work so I guess I should have them do something with the barrel too. blah
  21. I have a 16.40 that I really like. It has had trigger work done by EGW, but no other tweaks on it other than me polishing up the barrel ramp, champer and breach face with some flitz and a rag, it runs great. Earlier this year I took it out of retirement and it was running a bit sluggish, I hit it with some Flitz again and now it is back to 100%.
  22. ok, I added pictures to the first post. OAL is 1.125.
  23. I'll get pics tomorrow. Load is pretty light, 4.2gr n320, 180gr jhp.
