Wasn't sure where to put this but I guess here is as good as anywhere else. My 50 yr old wife was diagnosed Wednesday with "Left Atrial Myxoma" a benign tumor that is growing inside the left atrium of her heart. It is basically a golf ball sized tumor that has been growing there for a while now. Only way to deal with it is open heart surgery and that will be done on Monday afternoon. Surgeons expect everything to go well but............it is still open heart surgery. Her father had heart surgery 10 months ago, her mother 4 months ago (with a stroke while she was on the table), and now this! Anyway, if you have connections above (of any sort) a prayer for Ginny's successful surgery and quick recovery would sure be appreciated. Need all the help we can get right now. Has anyone got current, and definitive, information on when VV N105 will be available again here in USA? I just get "fuzzy" answers from my usual suppliers.

Mine are both set at 1.75, anything more than that and I feel like I am pulling too hard to let the shot go.

Does anyone make realistically weighted practice magazines that I could use in my 38 Super Open gun? Somethng that you don't mind dropping on the floor/ground when practicing reloads? I have seen some for Glocks and some 1911's, but what about an Open gun? Thanks for any information/links.

Me .02 is that I like the change. Let's you get "in the flow" of the shooting/stages. No shoot.........wait..............shoot...............wait etc. Great idea, looking forward to Feb already.

It's just frustrating that you pay good $$$ for a well reviewed handgun, and you have problems right out of the box. You send it back for them to fix and.......... it still isn't right! Just shouldn't have to go through all that with a new gun from such a quality manufacturer. And, from the posts here and on the M+P sight, this particular trigger issue of mine is more than just a random occurance. I will say this for S+W though, once they got it fixed right, it is a very nice gun to shoot.

For me these are the reasons that I choose to go to the Florida Open each year, even though I live far away: 1. Well run "major" match with great stages and a high level of competition. 2. Chance to see folks from previous years that I have shot with that I might not see on the New England "circuit". 3. Chance to watch and speak to the TJ's, Mannys, TT and MM, etc of the world, and see how the sport is really done! 4. Chance to say hello to Frank who got me started in the sport a few years ago. 5. And most importantly..........get the hell out of New Hampshire winters for a few days in February. For these reasons it is worth every penny spent each and every time. Chances of winning are small and, to me, not as important as those listed above.

For my open guns I use fp10 in all weather conditions.

I bought the M+P 45 and had an issue with it. I copy and pasted this post I made on the M+P forum, check other information there: http://mp-pistol.com/boards/index.php I am EXTREMELY disappointed with my purchase of a new M+P 45 auto. I took it home and proceeded to sight it in. I found the trigger to be excessively hard to pull and gritty in feel. Put my Lyman digital pull gauge on it and the average was 9.5#. I looked on the S+W website technical specs page and it says the trigger on this handgun should be 6.5#. Obviously disappointed, I called S+W and they had me send it down for an overhaul, which I did. I got it back last Friday and put the gauge on it to see how nice it was. The average had been lowered to 9.0#, a change of around -1/2# pull! Still gritty and hard to pull. So, I call S+W again and all I get is "send it in and we'll look at it again". Wanting to give them every chance I have sent it back down again and am waiting for it's return after this second go-over. If it comes back basically the same, as I suspect it will, what can I do to improve the trigger pull on this gun? I can breakdown all of the above handguns and have polished many trigger parts. Never detail stripped this gun yet as I haven't had it long enough. Would need some good detailed explanations and pictures before starting on anything. Can anyone help me with advice and information. Sure would be appreciated. I like the gun but the trigger pull really is awful. Not up to the name Smith and Wesson! Note: I got it back and the trigger was much more acceptable (6.5#) but it took 2 trips to Springfield to do it. Happy now, but it was a PIA that customers shouldn't have to deal with.

What I, and others, have done is straighten out the end of part 17838 in your photo. Just use a vise and pliers and straighten it out between the 2 score lines so it does not "whack" each time. I then added 2 powder bar return springs that I got from Dillon and now it operates smooth as silk. No more whack whack!

Great match, super staff, good stages, and warm weather............usually! Came down from NH last Feb. only to find 35 degree temps on Sat morning! Usually a really nice break from northern winters.

Glad to hear you made it through till the end OK, we have all "been there- done that" at one time or another. At the first stage of my first match a few years ago the first thing I looked at from the box was a Texas Star at about 20 yards And, at the time, I was shooting Production!
