  1. I am looking for a clamshell target for our group to purchase. I saw one a while ago that had 2 hydraulic pistons and it looked very nice, but I can't remember where I saw it. Maybe there are other designs that are good too. I see one at R+R Racing but I don't see any at MGM or GT. Can anyone point me toward a good clamshell target design? Thanks.
  2. Yeah, I bought 25 lbs when it became available again this past May. When it goes "out of stock" it stays "OOS" for a long time.
  3. I agree, best 38 Super powder I have ever used. But, and a BIG but, finding a place where you can buy it is always a hassle.
  4. Brazos Pro Sx 10.4 N105 with 125 HAP gets me 1370 fps (171 +/- pf)
  5. For cleaning the Cmore I have used this for the last few years, excellent product. http://www.uniquetek.com/site/696296/product/T1269
  6. I have had one for quite a while now, set up to my Super 1050. The KISS comes with a special powder funnel that replaces the one in your powder die. It does bell the case mouth a little bit more, to allow the bullet to sit in place until seated, but I have had NO problems reloading this brass again and again. I am shooting 38 Super and have reloaded some of it 5-6 times with no signs of splitting.
  7. I have heard this before and have questions......... 1. What is the function of the ratchet? 2. What does taking it off do? What negative things could happen if you remove it? How does it affect functioning of the press? 3. Do you also take off the spring loaded "ratchet restriction tab" that the ratchet contacts at the top? Thanks for the answers.
  8. Shannon, Great idea, check in the mail today for a ticket. Would love to win this one and maybe get out of the NH winter for a couple of days! Glyn
  9. Had mine for quite a while now, can't imagine not having it hooked up to my 1050. Probably 2-3 backwards bullets in maybe 10-15,000+. Great product, you won't regret getting it.
  10. 38 Super............. VV N105, for me, is soooooo far ahead of anything else I have used in my open guns. List includes 7625, 4756, 3N38, and 3N37. N105 is just plain better in every way than all of them. Only problem is availability but, after the order I received a feww months ago, I should be set for a long time.
  11. I have the CV 500 tumbler and it wasn't working right today, not tumbling as robustly as usual and making a different noise. Called Dillon and they helped diagnose the problem immediately. The small socket head screw that holds the flywheel to its shaft has disappeared. They are sending me another but I am across the country so it will be a while. Can anyone tell me what diameter size/threads/length this socket srew might be, no parts list in manual. I could go to Home Depot tomorrow and be back in action. Should I locktitie it on, or not? Thanks for information.
  12. To all the New York Yankee fans out there, the news that Bobby Murcer passed away today from the brain tumor he had been fighting for 2 years. A great ballplayer, he was one of my idols growing up. An even better broadcaster for the YES network for the past 20+ years. Sorry to see him go, but he battled his disease with class, and I will miss seeing him on future Yankee TV broadcasts.
  13. That is what I have I am looking for a little bigger. I will mail you a bigger one in mail today. I think I have just what you want. Glyn
  14. Randy, I really like these: http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDeta...0000-1094593467 Have it on both guns. Not too big so I don't "bump" it as I did with the larger ones. Nice match Saturday, you shot really well. Seen results yet?
  15. 10.4 grs VVN105 with 125 gr Hornady (HAP) and WSR primer out of Brazos Pro Sx.
  16. I shoot with Randy all the time................that may be good or bad He is one of the safest shooters I know. We spent quite a bit of time talking about what happened and I know how bad he feels about the DQ's. He is super conscious about what is happening while he is shooting a stage and the football DQ was one of those things that just happened. He indeed was a great sport about the whole thing and I look forward to shooting with him again soon. And yes, I was the idiot that chased the damn basketball
  17. What primers would fit them, Winchester Small Pistol?
  18. The local LEOs finished their qualifications and left all this once fired 45 acp brass (400+ pieces), so I picked it up. Got to keep the range clean, right? Cleaned, inspected, lubed and tried to run through my 550. Deprimed OK but new primer (Winchester Large Pistol) will not insert into primer pocket, on any of them. Headstamp says "Federal", "45 Auto", and "NT" on it. Are these military primer pockets that need to be swaged? Or, must you use a smaller size primer for these? Any information or suggestions appreciated.
  19. Manny, congrats! Every time I open up BE I see you are winning another big match.
  20. My 4+ year old D-Terminator scale has bit the big one so I called Dillon to buy a new one. Didn't really want to spend $139+ but had to "bite the bullet" metaphorically speaking. The Dillon rep told me about a program where, if you send in your old non-working D-Terminator, you can buy a brand new one for just $80.00. Basically, they are giving you a credit of $60.00 for your old non-working scale towards the purchase of a brand new one. Placed my order immediately, thanks Dillon. Another example why I go blue!
  21. Leo, You better catch a flight soon! It was nice to shoot the match at Frostproof with you folks last weekend while I was down there on vacation. Nice people, fun match. Thanks. From what I heard from the distributer this morning, VV has discontinued N105.......just what I heard from them so don't everybody jump all over me. They got in 30 lbs, and I got 25 of them. Lucky!
  22. According to the UPS website, 25 lbs. of VV N105 has been delivered by the BBP to my front doorstep today. Had it on backorder for almost exactly 1 year! Anybody else get a new supply in?
  23. Over the last 5 years I have always stayed at the Super 8 in Lake Wales. Clean, free breakfast, only 15-20 mins to range, and fairly inexpensive ($60). Already got my reservation for '09. http://www.super8.com/Super8/control/advanced_search
  24. Here is what happened to me: 1. Got the 550 and used that for a year. 2. Moved up to the 650 for another year, but kept the 550. 3. Moved up to the 1050 with KISS bullet feeder, no going back.
  25. Get a 1 gal. zip lock baggie, couple squirts of One Shot inside, add cases, zip, and shake. Load and shoot.
