  1. Puscifer - Conditions of My Parole (the entire album)
  2. Coated bullets smoke. Some brands definitely worse than others. In my experience, slower powders make it worse.
  3. Yep. I recently bought a flat rate box from someone on here and it was full of FC, Berdan (broken decapping pins), 380, lots of junk. I let the seller know that I was not happy. He offered to take the brass back but by the time I would have reboxed it and drove it to be shipped it wasn't worth it. Lesson learned.
  4. Volquartsen accurizing kit, Tandemkross Victory trigger, Tandemkross LCI filler, Tandemkross comp if you have a threaded barrel. This will give you a sweet trigger in the 2-3lb range and the comp really is effective for muzzle rise.
  5. Already loosened the screw a tiny bit, but the arm was moving fine. I had only dropped a small handful of bullets in the feeder as I was setting it up, so I don't think I was overfilling it. I am kind of thinking that since I am using small 9mm 115s they are just the right size to get stuck in that area. I think they were 125s or 147s they would be too big to even drop in that space. For now I put a small piece of tape over the area and it seems to have resolved the issue. Thanks, Scott
  6. Just picked up a MBF yesterday at CED. This thing is so worth the money. The installation instructions are kinda confusing and vague, but it wasn't really any problem setting it up. The only problem I am having is bullets getting stuck between the dislodge arm and collator plate. See attached pic. Anyone else have this issue? If so, what did you do to correct it? It doesn't really seem to cause any problems, it's just annoying. Thanks, Scott
  7. Lead or coating being shaved off when you seat the bullet? Happens on my 650 if I don't have enough flare on the case before seating the bullet. Only happens on coated for me.
  8. My USPSA Open Major gun with a bull barrel in it for steel. In the video I am running a minor load. I played around with it for a while, but then I built a different gun just for steel. It actually shot very nice without all the blast from the comp and major load.
  9. Wow, thanks for slamming me ricardo28. I said "I would think it would be a .250" then recommended that the OP call EGW to confirm. Also, I didn't say ALL beavertails are oversized. I have only ever used EGW beavertails, which all need to be fit to the curves of the tangs by removing material from the tangs AND be blended to the shape of the frame since they are oversized for doing exactly that. But I will digress to you supreme knowledge and need to slam people just for trying to be helpful. Have a nice day. Not a slam, just a direct correction. I don't sugar coat like today's society wants to make people feel better. Also, I'm not a gunsmith but I don't post bad info about things I don't know about. Didn't say you said always, you said almost any. Fair enough. The only reason I commented at all was because alot of people that are new to the 1911/2011 platform don't understand that there really isn't such a thing as a "drop in" part for 1911s since every manufacturer of the guns, frames, slides, parts, etc uses different specs and most parts will require some type of fitting.

  11. I would think it would be a .250 radius. Call EGW and ask. They are an awesome group there and extremely helpful. Also, almost any beavertail you buy is going to be oversized and will needed to be fit and blended.
  12. Maybe instead of using a full dovetail cut, have a good gunsmith drill and tap the slide somewhere so you can "bolt down" a racker to the slide instead of using the set screws to lock it into the dovetail? Use longer set screws and loctite them into the holes. Possibly cut one side of the dove tail into where the swoop starts so you have a solid surface so the racker doesnt try to twist when you use it. See quickie photoshopping below.
  13. Sure, why not? Almost anything is legal as far as equipment in Open. There is nothing that requires that you MUST run a red dot/optic. Technically you don't even have to use a red dot or optic type sight and can shoot Open with a Limited or Production gun if you wanted. You probably wouldn't be too competitive, but nobody can stop you from doing it.
  14. Wasn't there just some info about this in the most recent Front Sight? No rules changed, but they had a detailed diagram to help further explain allowed holster/mag pouch placements.
  15. Maybe try combing through the Practiscore results on the PS website. You can find many different matches that don't report back to SCSA, USPSA, etc. I found a few clubs in my area that shoot outlaw matches and don't advertise anywhere but will welcome new shooters.
  16. Maybe just give me that gun for a few days to see why you have so many issues?
  17. Sorry to hear that. I hope you gave it a proper burial. Absolutely. It gave it's life in the line of duty. Might want to pay attention to this thread Blacklab....it was painful watching you run your bolt action open gun last week.
  18. 10/22s seem to be more reliable in my experience, as long as you are using the 10 round rotary mags. I have a 10/22 that my 9 year old son uses for steel matches and will eat anything you put in it. I see alot of guys have issues with the 22 ARs. I have a S&W 15/22 that has never gotten thru a full 25 round mag without an issue...needs to go back to S&W when I have time to ship it out.
  19. I paid $26 plus $20 shipping for them. They did not have cables or chargers with them, but I was able to scrounge around for them and found 3 cables and two charging blocks. I will sell you all 3 for $50 shipped if you really want them.
  20. Are you saying these instructions don't work and you can't get root access on those devices? There is some additional reading and number of success reports at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1941858 or this Go ahead and click that download link included with the video. I really hope you aren't on a PC when you do it
  21. Are you saying these instructions don't work and you can't get root access on those devices? There is some additional reading and number of success reports at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1941858 or this I have tried that one and many, many others. Problem is most of those forum posts, etc are from back in 2011-2013. Many of them have dead links for the software they say to use. Like I said, I have already wasted too much time on it and I am cutting my losses and moving on. It really isn't that important in the grand scheme of things and I am more than will to take the hit on the $$$ I wasted by buying the NookColors before I investigated if they would work.
  22. *POOF* (With associated purple cloud) Mind....blown! I can't get any of the Rooting procedures to work on the Nook Color. I am a high end IT guy with much command line and scripting experience and can't get any of the ways I found to actually work. Unfortunately I have zero Android experience. At this point I am cutting my losses and just using an old iPad I have
  23. Nook Colors, at least with firmware v1.4.3, are completely locked down so you can only download books from Barnes and Noble. You can't even download apps anymore. Sideloading apps doesn't work either since they have locked that down too. I have been trying to root it or jailbreak the Colors with no luck. I will probably cut my losses soon and go with other devices. At least I only paid $26 for all 3 of them.
  24. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say "only stop a shooter when they've done something DQ-able." If a competitor falls and you're not sure whether they still have control of the gun, go ahead and stop them, in my not-so-humble. The worst that happens is they get a reshoot for RO interference. The best outcome is that you find they did not have control of the gun and they don't try to salvage what's left of the stage with the gun in an unsafe position or condition. Additionally, if the fall is bad enough, I think I'd probably stop the competitor if I was worried they were injured beyond scrapes and bruises. Yeah, I know--that's on them to stop themselves. But if you're not sure if they're going to need assistance to clear the stage, why not just be a proactive and considerate RO and stop them to better assess the situation? Again, the worst outcome is that they get a reshoot for RO interference. The best outcome is that the competitor (and the RO) can properly assess their physical condition and then take the precautions to safely clear them from the stage and administer aid. Reasonable people can disagree, and someone will likely ask Troy his opinion (if he doesn't weigh in himself), but I don't think this has to be a binary solution set. If the RO is the least bit concerned the competitor or the gun might be in an unsafe position or condition, it's their responsibility to stop the stage and assess the situation off the clock. I didn't say only stop if they did something DQ-able. I listed the reasons from the rules when an RO has the authority and duty to stop a shooter. Helping them dust off and get their pride back in check isn't one of them. If they fall and their gun is rendered unsafe or their gun is dropped or goes into a DQ-able position/direction, then the RO must stop the shooter...or as you said "If the RO is the least bit concerned the competitor or the gun might be in an unsafe position or condition, it's their responsibility to stop the stage and assess the situation off the clock."
  25. The only time an RO should talk to a shooter during a run is to say STOP because they committed a DQ-able offense, because their gun malfunctioned/had a squib leaving the gun in an unsafe condition, shooter has inadvertently lost eye/hearing protection, range equipment failure, shooter commits a forbidden action. Other than that an RO should never talk to the shooter between the standby command and the IYAFUASC command.
