  1. Glad to hear it. Perhaps a mention of that somewhere in the rules would be a nice touch... as well as an address people can use for their 5320.20 forms with the BATFE Unless you are shooting the suppressor on an SBR you don't need a 5320.20. Suppressors do not require that form. That said, last time I traveled with an SBR I just put "SW New Mexico" as the address because I was shooting classes at multiple ranges. You could probably just put central Florida and be fine.
  2. Are you shooting the Texa Multigun Championship? It's right up the road from you.... I am pretty sure you will be able to find me hunkered over a laptop in the stat shack at that match. That one is work, not fun.
  3. I like mail in. All of the email reminders and scheduling and planning to be sitting in front of the computer at 1700 on Sunday went out the window when my daughters (who are one of the most important things in my life) announced that they wanted to carve pumpkins Sunday night.... ( just using this as an example since it was just yesterday, same applies to all other matches with click the button in the first 3 seconds or don't get in registration)...... sorry to rant, just don't think anything that requires people to plan their whole families schedule around clicking the mouse at the right time is a good approach..
  4. I guess we aren't allowed to have family obligations if we want to shoot 3 gun any more.... I will relish the fact that if I had to miss getting into this match, I did it watching my daughters have a blast carving pumpkins.... I am bummed though, this was one of the very limited matches I was going to be able to shoot next year.
  5. You have a few choices. Anything in Georgetown, Cedar Park, or Burnet will be within about 20-30 minutes of the range.
  6. Two hits. An Alpha and one hit anywhere else neutralizes. I'm going for 2 Alphas on each. That sounds like wasted aiming there... I ordered a box of targets today for my practice.
  7. I am pumped about this match. Just wondering if Jim and Larry Houck have been spending time together with all these mag in empty chamber pistol starts.. LOL
  8. What if we are missing scores for a stage we shot on Thursday?
  9. I bet flying into Dulles is going to be a blast after this morning..
  10. Yes, Horner won open last year with his regular tac gear except I think he had a speed loader gate on his shotgun, not 100% on that though, might have been thumb loading.
  11. Think of the weight you will save by leaving your high-capacity rifle mags at home. Yet another reason I am going to bring my open gear... I am not leaving any high cap mags at home...SF mag FTW..
  12. Are results on Sunday morning? Just trying to figure out flights.
  13. Just so I understand.. you shoot thursday, friday, and Saturday at this match right?
  14. Makes my 1000ish miles each way seem a little less epic.. of course it is funny since I am only a few states away.
  15. So it does take a step closer to IDPA.... To be clear, a stage can be declared a "narrative" by simply requiring the first mag in your rifle must be downloaded to 10 rounds but the rest of the mags and course of fire is to division capacity and shoot'em as you see'em. . The only non-narrative stage is one where the stage description is something to the effect of "On start signal engage targets as they become visible". So USCA's definition of narratives is equivalent to stage directives in other shooting leagues. I'm pretty certain there will be no IDPA-style stages at Nats. I'll be honest, I don't recall but one USCA club that even comes close to dictating an entire course of fire, and that's a "tactical" club. That's the whole reasons narratives were created, so guys that like to dress up and play army can dictate courses of fire at local matches at one club and guys that want to think for themselves and shoot their own game plan can at other matches at other clubs. USCA is kinda like the United States, if you dont like one states laws you can move to a state that feel best aligns with your values. If you don't like playing dress-up don't shoot USCA Club X. If you like more run and gun shoot USCA Club Y. Nationals will be a test of the competitors shooting ability not the competitors ability to remember directions, step-by-step. Glad to hear that.. I am looking forward to the match.. the high round count looks awesome.
